Excellent place to visit around December-January period. Migratory birds come here at that time, and it's really beautiful to see these beautiful birds. The lake is huge, and you have to rent a boat to get near the birds. Do carry a DSLR camera, with a high zoom capacity, or Binoculars. That would really be great for bird watching. The place is about 100 kms from Pune. Recommend visiting in the morning, as early as possible.

Recommended for bird lovers and kids. Good option for half day tours. Mr Nagare has monopoly here to arrange tours. Rs 1000 for a ride to watch birds for 6 ppl. You can share the boat with other families as well.

Beautiful place to visit! Got to see a huge variety of birds. We took a hour long boat ride. Swapnil and his team are very knowledgeable and helpful. Recommend booking the boat ride in advance by calling Swapnil. They have about 8 boats. We were lucky enough to get a boat after a 45 minutes wait. He can also organise some snacks if required.

Must visit place if you love birds and photography. This place is popular for Flamingo birds who migrate here from December to March. Boatmen are friendly and knowledgeful. Our boatman threw light on all the birds present there and to my surprise, he even suggested us camera shutter speed to capture besr pic of flying bird for each type of bird. It is recommended to visit this place before 9.30 am.

Best place to visit for bird lovers, enthusiast and photographers. Once can sight the birds throughout the year, but for migratory birds winter season is best. There are pocket friendly lodge and hotels nearby. Also, one must carry cameras to create life time memories.

Good holiday point near our Pune. People in village are very friendly and helpful, also boat venders are cooperative and kind, boat man are guides and they know the area and the birds information in depth. Nice place. Best time to visit is Nov to March. You may spot flamingos, but it depends on their migration plan 😉

Flamingos. These are the birds people from all over the place come to see during their migratory period spent in Bhigwan. They are mostly seen in the spring season, from the start of the year till mid year, around June-July. There are other beautiful birds seen too here like storks, hornbills, ducks of various species and varieties. A must for bird watching and wildlife and bird photographers. A really calming and relaxing boating and bird watching experience only a few hours from Pune or Solapur.
