Wonderful experience. Rooms on first floor are good, have a balcony with amazing views. The dining place also provide great views. The staffs are cordial and service is very good. Wi-Fi on ground floor was not working. Overall a nice stay in Punakha.

Not sure why average rating is low for this hotel but management was very cordial and helpful to arrange everything that we requested. Very courteous crew and staff would be plus point. Road from Thimphu can be very tough and can cause mudslides during rainy season. Approach road to the hotel is also tough in case you want to take a walk in the vicinity. You should have stick with you as you walk, have mosquito repellent cream/lotion and buy and carry mosquito killer aerosol from the town. You get an amazing view throughout the day while night can be even more beautiful with full moon & bonfire ( which they can organize for you).

Awesome place for stay with a fimily, Excellent friendly behaviour of all staffs and host. It’s very good for stay with family in budget.

We were there last week for 2 nights The location of the hotel is super and the staff and response quality is ok. No credit cards / Debit cards accepted. Have to pay in cash for their services . Location : Great Room : no acs or even fans , can get stuffy and humid at night shud it rain Wi fi : not good, as connectivity keeps constantly dropping Food : ok Staff : ok

Great view, spacious room. But it is not well maintained. The kettle cannot be plugged into the wall power. Room ventilation not so good.

Superb views, lovely rooms, beautiful country and amazing people!

This hotel has great view of mountains and staffs are patient and accomodating. However, do note although TV is in rooms, they are not functioning. Also do check water heater in room immediately as not all room's water heater is working condition. we had to change room as both room heater and water heater not working and weather temperature drop too much for us to be able to shower in cold water. Food wise, it is very basic, do bring along your own snacks for the trip if you are staying here.

Amazing stay and experience in Oct 2023 at Hotel Vara, Punakha. The valley view with rice paddies look amazing! Spacious rooms to accommodate family of 4.

Wonderfully located on the slope of a hill, the rooms provide an expanding view of a valley ahead and the river that calmly flows on the valley. The rooms are spacious and had all modern amenities including a room heater. Recommended for a laid back holiday and rest.
