Nice place for a quick visit or a walk with children. From here, you can see the skyline of Mainhattan

Great castle you can drive up to. Includes a beautiful rose garden, a feeding station for rabbits or chickens, and a small restaurant.

A historical palace in ruins but still in good shape to have first hand experience! This 13th century masterpiece is now well maintained and open for the public visits and for the private events. By being on a small hill, about 300m, and on the top of watch tower, one can have a nice view of the surroundings. There’s a wine and beer garden inside the site. Driving up the hill needs caution. Though less car parking places are at the site, it’s still enough if it’s not a busy day / time. Easily approachable by road.

Been here for a team event. I did not have anything to do with organisation nore did I have to pay for anything. But it was nice. We had some archery and some kind of treasure hunt. The time flew by. Archery teachers have been really nice and did some good explanation. Catering service was a bit chaotic... We have been around 50 people and getting food was a bit slow. Still, the food was good and everybody has been friendly. Also there have been chicken running around and it was overall a really good experience. Will absolutely visit again.

What a sweet little castle! The ruin is actually in great shape, almost as though it has been restored (it was an impromptu visit for us and we didn’t have time to do much research. You literally can pull up to the parking lot at the castle (or park next to the very nearby playground and walk a few extra steps), and walk in through the entrance. You can either go towards the restaurant or make a left or right and walk through the outer grounds of the castle through gardens and a rabbit keep (which was the highlight of my kids day). The gardens are quaint and charming and actually maintained, if they’re a bit overgrown. In the center of the castle there is a small tower you can climb with a coin “donation” box. The staircase up was VERY dark at one point (we had to use our phone flashlights just to see the steps at all; there were lights but they weren’t all working). There was also a restaurant that was closed when we were there but the seating was welcoming and within the walls of the castle, which I always love. It took us less than an hour to explore everything at a slow pace, easily done with my 3 kids ages 5,3,1.5 years. Definitely check out the playground right down the road if you have kids!

Visited for an event Winter Matchen auf Schloss Alsbach. Castle was well preserved. A new large playground under construction just outside looks very promising. Great area for hiking.

Unintentionally went during a little Renaissance fair which made the castle more interesting. Even without a fair though it's worth a stop.

It was a long but peaceful hike to the Alsbach Castle.

Only stopped for a spot of lunch & the best tasting ice cold beer I've had. Served in an ice cold Steiner too.

Small Castle, but from around the 1700s. You can hike to this castle from town, or you can park your car in a very small parking lot adjacent to the castle. There is also a small restaurant where you can get small plates and beers as well once you are inside. Great little place to visit, doesn't take very long to see everything. Recommend checking the spice out if you are in the area.

A cute little castle that is being well cared for. There are gardens, chickens, rabbits, and peacocks. It is easy to get to with lots of parking.

Good place for a short day trip. The view from the castle can be quite spectacular, if the weather is good. There's a small café that serves beer and other refreshments. The hike from the tram station is quite manageable.

Great view from the tower with views up to Melibokus, North to Frankfurt and Taunus, West across the river valley, and south down the bergstrasse. there is a nice courtyard beloe. Also inside the castle grounds is a casual restaurant that is great for flammkuchen and cake. Excellent value. We recommend walking up from Alsbach, or driving up and going for a week either over to Auerbach, or up to Melibokus.

Nice place. Short hiking trip (30mins) from Alsbach. There were people preparing for medieval festival for kids. You can see the Melibokus tower at the highest point of the ruins

A small castle, not so many to see. it took me less than 20 minutes to walk everywhere. You can take less if you are not taking pictures. Parking is convenient because there are not so many people.

Nice small Schloss with a beer garden just at the entrance. I like the fact that there are no charges to enter inside
