I have eaten in Oudh earlier as well and it is one of my favourite places for Indian cuisine. This is first time I visited the salt lake branch. Though there is nothing to complain about the food or the ambience or even the staff behaviour as all of them were good. The only place to improve is that they don’t have their full menu as a lot of things were not available. A simple thing such as a salad was also not available with them. Overall if you like Indian you can definitely try it here.

We are about to forget the restaurant dining experience in the era of Zomato, Swiggy and other apps. I went to experience that in OUDH 1590 Saltlake. Their Tag Line - "Period Dining Experience". The atmosphere of the restaurant will remind you of the Nawabi period. Mainly the menu of the restaurant is decorated with the famous cuisines of Lucknow (Awadhi Region). Dishes, bowls, glasses, chandeliers and melodic ghazals all have the impression of that era. The whole thing can be called a theme. Now let's talk about food. There is a method of eating here. Don't make a random start. It is highly recommended to start with galauti kebab and parota. Even if you can also taste Shammi or Kakori Kebab. Parota is must with Galauti Kabab. Because that staisfies your taste bud. Soft kebabs will melt in your mouth. In the main course you can take OUDH Special Gost Handy Biryani (2 pieces mutton and two eggs) along with Bhuna Gost or Chicken Kundan Kalia or Mutton Rogan Josh. The rich food of great taste will stay with you. Though personally I didn't like the Biriyani much. There are other items too, take suggestions from the staff. Menu is available in Internet. Your meal should end with a Dessert Shahi Tukra(bread pudding). Pocket Pinch - Rs.1000 per head(Approx) There are many branches of OUDH 1590 in Kolkata. Recently one branch opened in Sodpur. Those who do not know about OUDH 1590, go and experience the Nawabi Khanapina.

Had visited this place a few months back. With classy ambience and royal décor this has to be one of the best restaurants for period dining experience. They served the food in antique dishes and glasses which just adds to the royal ambience! The food we had ordered: -Galawati kebab -Murgh Zafrani kebab -Raan biryani -Murgh Irani -Gosht Bhuna The quality and quantity of food was satisfying. Even the staff were courteous and swift and had even helped us with the menu. This has to be one of the best places for authentic Awadhi food! Follow us on Instagram- @sip_slurp_burp

Excellent ambiance, finger licking good Biriyani, out of the world soft mutton, brilliant service and smooth operations are a few things that describes this place. Besides the servings in brass utensils makes the experience even more unique. For the price, it is really value for money and the experience was really wonderful. A must visit and highly recommended place for weekends and family outings. Please keep up with the good work and quality.

This place is located in sector 1 of saltlake. This is one of the most authentic place for lucknowi khana in kolkata. There 2 or 3 more oudh outlet in the different places of the city. The interior of this place is awesome. The royal nawabi feeling is the theme of this restaurant. Every small part of the room is choosen and decorated keeping that in mind. One small point I noticed is even their AC has been colored exactly same way with the walls. The quality of the food was good. We ordered various things like chicken Seekh kebab, Galwati Kebab(mutton), Lucknowi paratha, Chicken Tandoor, Awadhi Mutton hundi biryani and Chicken Biryani, some gravy item of chicken. The paratha was awesome, it was so soft that it was just melting in the mouth. I have been to lucknow several times and know what real Galwati kebab tastes like, this place galwati was very good but not great compared to authentic ones. Still one can try that. Biryani was also not exceptional, it was good. One turn off for me was not providing onions after asking. One need to differently order for salad to get onion. I do not like buying extra salad because normally in india every restaurant provides onion in general. The place is good overall but the price was a bit high. Also, the quality of biryani I expected from such royal place is more better.

Oudh 1590 is an Indian Medieval Themed Restaurant in Salt Lake The Grandiose Architecture and Calm Ambiance is Amazing but the Wholesome Polite Service is even More Amazing. You can tell just by entering this restaurant that it was designed from the bottom of the heart, as it really captures the Spirit of Medieval India very well. The Food here is very well-cooked and tasty while the Service Men here are also very well-mannered and lovely. Overall a Grand Restaurant, definitely worth a visit just for enjoying the ambiance.

The food is awesome. Their galouti kebab is to die for. Tastes of food is absolutely delicious. Quantities are also satisfying . And in top of it the price ranges is very reasonable. Except of food the service is also very good. All the staffs are very helpful and friendly. Last but not the least the ambience is super. It is well decorated perfectly matched with the food and presentation. Overall this place is a gem.

Cheated Meal. No I'm not talking about the cheat meal that you have without telling your dietician. Oudh serves one of the worst, overpriced, overhyped Biryani in Kolkata and it was the worst among all the Biryani I've tried till date. I consider it to be cheated and fooled by them. Oudh is one of the most popular name in Biryani then why I'm criticizing it? Believe me now a days its not very hard to gain popularity. By spending some money on social media marketing and so called influencers you can easily achieve what they've done and many restaurant are doing the same. Oudh 1590 Special Raan Biryani @ Rs.480 (1/5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just after opening the container we understood we've been cheated. They delivered the Biryani in a 1500ml container where only half were filled. Pictures are attached. Basically only 750ml Biryani, what most other ordinary restaurant serves under Rs.150 they served it for 3 times of the price. We thought one will be sufficient for 2 people and 3 plate will be sufficient for 5. But guess what, it was only for a single person. Coming to the Biryani, I can't really call it Biryani. I've tried Biryani from several reputed places but they've completely changed the definition of Biryani. It was just ghee bhaat with some added color, no spices whatsoever absolutely tasteless worthless and meaningless. By Awadhi Biryani they only knew to remove potato and that they removed. Minced mutton rolled were cooked separately and tasted tangy and disgusting, seemed not fresh. Murgh Awadhi Handi Biryani @ Rs.395 (1/5) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delivered in a clay handi for showoff. exactly same rice, no specialty, 2 eggs and Chicken. Basically the rice was same and didn't liked it at all same as Raan Biryani. I called Oudh immediately after finding container was half filled and my god the behavior of their staff was so rude. I wish I could attach the call recording here with the review for public. Disgusting behavior, they don't even know officially what they're serving, at last they said that's Oudh's Original Biryani. If all the Biryani restaurant in the city becomes unavailable then also I'll never ever get back to them. Worthless robbers opened up a restaurant with money power and now making money by fooling people. Karma will eat their money one day.

Went there for a Sunday lunch. Located about 10 mins walk from City Centre. The place is situated in the ground floor of a building. Interior beautifully decorated and gives you a feeling of the Awadh. The place is quite compact and not huge. On a Sunday afternoon we had to wait for about 10 mins to get in. Tried Starters and Biryani (Raan/Mutton, Chicken). Galaouti kabab was okay but nothing near if you compare it with the ones available in Lucknow. Qalmi kabab was okay. Raan Biryani was decent (without potatoes and eggs). Chicken Biryani wasn't the best. Overall food was okay/average, not at all exceptional. Price on the higher side when compared with quality and taste. Biryani quantity was okay, but Starters quantity on the lesser side. Staffs courteous, but when in rush you will feel they are trying their best to make customers finish their food as quickly as possible and leave. Cards and Cash accepted

The food was good but i had higher expectations! I'm disappointed in Galawati kabbab, the review is allover here. But being a person who have experienced Galawati kabbab in both Old Delhi and Lucknow was extremely disappointed; my friends on the other hand who were having it for the first time found it good!

Dining at Oudh 1590 was an experience that I expected to be better. The first time I heard about this restaurant was from my friends and they said it was great. They tried the Biriyani there and told me it was wonderful. Honestly, I didn't see much of the great descriptions that my friends told me. Galouti kebab was the first food item that we picked. It is made of what seems to be ground mutton, fried and made into the shape of a thick patty. It was not good. It was too mushy for it's looks. I am NOT a big fan of mutton so for me, I would rate it 2/5. Next item is the Qalmi kebab which is like a chicken tandoori. I love chicken and while it looked very tasty, it didn't meet my expectations for how much better the taste could have been, just like it's looks. It tasted fine, but it could have had more deliciousness to it. Though I didn't like the taste, I'll rate it a 3/5. Now, for the finale! Biriyani! When I first saw and smelled it, I thought I would give it a full 5/5! But that was not the case in this restaurant, oh no. This is the Gosht Awadhi Handi Biryani and the Murgh Awadhi Handi Biriyani. The difference between the Gosht and Murgh is that Gosht is mutton an Murgh is chicken. I tried both and here's how they tasted: Both biriyanis were tasteless and the chicken felt like was the same but a bigger Qalmi. But the chicken was made to taste like a normal chicken. As for the mutton, it was fine but it wasn't better than the chicken. The Biriyani rice didn't have a good taste, but as a biriyani lover, I wouldn't say it was bad, but if my friends say it was that good, I would absolutely disagree. This Biriyani gets a rating of 4/5. The restaurant itself was a fine dining with expressing the Mughal culture. The service could have been better and shouldn't take so much time for this kind of food. This concludes my review and you must remember to look for a restaurant's quality and better yet, their food's quality. Happy dining. (Sorry no photo for chicken!)

Perfect place for dine-in with family, friends or beloved one.. The fully AC Ambiance is just awesome, along with the Gazal songs, playing at background, makes the ambience more beautiful & romantic.. You can feel vintage & classic awadhi atmosphere as a whole.. The food quality is really good.. Any type of Kebabs as a starter is just awesome, Specially Galaouti Kebab & Zafrani Kebabs.. Now there is going on Biriyani Festival (from 13th August 2021 onwards) & you can get several varieties of Biriyani.. Handi Biriyani, Raan Biriyani, Sugandhi Gandharaj Biriyani is just awesome, along with you can take some spicy chilli side dishes/Salaan like Chicken/Mutton Bhuna, Rezala, Chaap-- is really finger licking dishes.. After this,in dessert must try Saahi Tukda, it's just awesome..You can also try Phirni, it's also good.. The behaviour of the staffs are polite & friendly..They serve very well..The cleanliness is at its peak..You can pay here via cash/card/any UPI QR Code.. The waiting section is also well decorated.. The timing is 12pm.-3:30pm after that the restaurant will be closed for lunch & will open at evening for 6pm.-9pm. In Google, You can find it as a whole 12pm.-9pm.-- that creates confusion.. You just go there & enjoy the food & spend a quality time..

The place is really good for a dine out. The ambiance is great with good spacious tables. Staffs are good natured and treat customer politely. They have a quite a number of briyani, which I think is the most striking quality about the place. The food is very good in taste. The special items are very good. If you wish to go during weekends or during a holiday, it is better you call before hand and reserve a slot. The restaurant gets a lot crowded during these days. There is no parking space which makes it difficult to get there using your own vehicle. Although there is option to park on the side of the road but during peak time it can make things difficult.

Totally hated it. Waited for 45 mins only to get super duper disappointed. Staff was tired & unable to manage the orders. We were asked to share a table (which we didn’t mind) But the food was so bland!! We ordered chicken awadhi biryani as per recommendation. But all we received was Turmeric Rice with half cooked chicken pieces. Trust me it is not Avdhi cuisine. My friend tried masala coke, which was just jal jeera and coke. Overall, the experience was extremely boring and underwhelming. Please do not go there and waste your money and time.

Truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Salt Lake! The food was delicious, with melt-in-your-mouth mutton and delightfully fluffy butter naan. The biriyani was excellent as well, and came in tasteful pottery. Our service was speedy and precise, and it was truly a delight to order in Bengali instead of having to defer to cousins to order in Hindi! Even the atmosphere was captivating, with intricate designs adorning the ceiling and walls, and several nice chandeliers giving off exactly enough light to set the mood. My only quibble with such a great meal is that I wished that there were more physical menus, as my Aunt and Uncle had a spot of difficulty scanning the code with their older phone models, and so our party had to share one phone and one menu. Other than that, a truly wonderful meal and experience!

Another branch of a gem in the house of biryani brands! Visited the branch while the Biryani Festival was ON! Tried 2 special kinds of exclusive biryani and a side dish(kundan kalia) the aroma, the spice levels, the oilyness everything was just upto the mark and overall taste was absolutely delicious 😋 A must visit for them who want perfect biryani experience with great period dining ambience and gazal music.

The taste of food items which we have tasted are really nice and also the quantity wise its good. The behaviour of their staffs are really good and they would suggest you what would be the quantity required for your group. We were 4 people and at first we try to ordered 3 plate of Mutton biryani but the staff said to ordered 2 plate instead of 3. I really appreciate his honest suggestions and it worked. If we ordered 3 plate definitely it would be wasted. Overall I am very happy with foods, ambience of the restaurant, behaviour of their staffs. Keep it good work 👍.

What the taste!!!!!! Just awesome, whatever you order it's totally perfect to eat. Each and every dishes are awesome, perfect and too much tasty. Normally you can go for the handi biriyani, Rann biriyani is also too good. Galouti kebab, afghani kebab..... Everything is just awesome. Just to feel and taste the food. Ambience and decorations are so awesome, like someone can feel the vintage and old awadhi decorations totally inside it. Thanks for the awesome dishes.

Office friends get together after long time @Oudh1590. One if best authentic restaurant for mughlai dishes..located just behind cc1 saltlake on the main road. Tested kakori & fresh wholesome tanduri kabab with lacha paratha in addition with galouti kabab accompanied by 3 set if sauses pepper raita, mint chatni and swt tomato chatni. Main course with butter nann with mutton RoganJosh and obvious selection of ghost awadhi handi biriyani with help of aam khas sprinkle. No doubt about food taste and qualities as this isn't the first time. Service on a bit slower side..atmosphere a bit of darker side due to dark color theme of mughlai gharana and less luminated lightnings..but that doesn't a obstacle fir belly friendly food and fun together!!!

Food is amazing and tastes just right, takes you to gastronomic journey of Luckhnow. Ambience and music is just apt. But I have humble request to get the washroom upto to standards. The water jet and flush not working, it's stinking bad, and there are no tissue papers.

Went there for weekday lunch. Ambiance - It is small, dated and dark. They need to refresh their sitting and add some more lighting. Food - ordered murg khade masala, rumali roti, butter naan, butter roti, awadhi dal, veg biryani. Only thing that stood out was Murg Khade Masala and Rumali roti, a must try. The butter naan was big and good too. Service - Decent service Limited vegetarian and dessert options. Overall good, definitely recommend Murg Khade Masala and Rumali roti combination.

Awesome food. I would say they have one of the best biriyanis in Kolkata. I felt it was better than Karim's, in taste as well as for the pocket. The ghazals and the chandeliers make this place beautiful. But I would prefer a bit more lit cause it almost feels too dark. Overall, it's a great place to have Mughal cuisine.

First of all, I am really fond of awadhi cuisine and oudh is on top of my list and I keep referring friends and family. Mostly I have been to Naktala branch and this is my first experience in Salt Lake branch during Durga Puja, rush was less on the day of my visit. My observation - 1. Galauti Chicken Kebab was dry and felt like soyabean chaap 2. Murgh Handi Biryani had no masala and felt like it was filled with oil and ghee. Very poor food experience.

It was a mixed experience I would say. I saw two extremes. On one end were the Badami shake and kebabs … both veg and mutton kebabs …. which were outstanding and the other end was the sweet murg musallam. Yes, you read it right, ‘sweet’. Who on earth makes murg musallam sweet??!! It was a nightmare! Their biryani was decent and I would still recommend to try the other dishes. Just stay away from murg musallam. I will take months to get over it …. we paid ₹1350 for it!

Went at Oudh because heard a lot about it but was really disappointed by the food and services: 1. Ordered 3 dishes and checked with waiter to make it spicy, they made all the dishes sweet. Nothing was upto the hype. Very average taste. 2. Waiters were some of the most arrogant waiters I have seen. All of them were so rude. We were 6 people and post our food when they cleaned everything, we just requested to serve some water to everyone, one waiter came with just 2 glasses. When requested for more glasses, he literally threw 6-7 glasses on the table to mock our request. Even the way they talked will make you feel unwelcoming Highly disappointed. Only good thing about this place was it’s ambience. Rest everything needs a serious attention from the management

It took me back to the Mughal era, It's like you have travelled in the past as everything is so detailed and speckless. Now as a starter i had chicken tandoori which was good then i ordered jhinga biriyani with chicken chap. Biriyani had a lot of prawn pieces in it. with chap gravy it tasted fulfilling so i had no room for dessert.

We visited to try out their exquisite range of 11 unique renditions of biryani, specially curated for the ongoing Great Awadhi Biriyani Festival 2021. The variety ranges from choices like Murgh Yakhni biryani, Shikari Hansa (duck) Handi biryani, Yakhni Jheenga (prawn) biryani, Gosht Yakhni biryani, etc., to lip-smacking choices among veg renditions too, like Mushroom Moti biryani, Shahi Subz Kofta biryani. The spread is insane and the quality is top-notch. Highly recommend this experience. The festival lasts till 12th September.

Everything is great, from the ambience to staff behaviour. But.... The major disappointment comes when they say you, none of the biryani's have aloo. Yes. It instantly ruined my mood. The only biryani from Oudh that has aloo is Metiabruz biryani. And this time they informed us that they don't have that in their stock. And I was so disappointed. I used to really recommend their dishes before but I don't know if I will anymore :( Though if you visit here, there galawati kebab is a must try!

This restaurant always gives us a traditional nawabi vibe. You will automatically go back to nawabi era 500 years back on entering into the restaurant. Every food has a trademark mughlai taste specially the kababs. But the quantity in that biryani saying serves 2 is not adequate for two people. The service from the waiters are very helpful and polite.

We were near the salt lake city centre and craving biryani so we decided to walk to this place. As we entered we were impressed by the ambience and the decor. It's a dimly lit restaurant with gazals playing in the background and delivers what it promises, a period dining experience. We ordered Murg Afghani Kebab for starters and Ghost Awadhi Handi Biryani and Murg Bhuna for the main course. I loved the Murg Afghani Kebab and the biryani but the chicken side dish was quite disappointing. The Handi biryani is offered in a generous quantity and should be sufficient for three people. Overall it was a good experience.

Recived product by Oudh home delivery at 7.20pm. at 10 Pm Found only Fish Tikka are fresh and all biriyani is STALE condition and not eatable. Spell converted to rotten yoghurt. Shoked to observe that INR 5k Biriyani delivered just like that without checking the freshness condition. 50 % biriyani I have kept in fridge to send back sample

Biriyani delivered in an earthen pot. The quantity is enough for two person of moderate appetite. Children also like the taste. Two biriyani is sufficient for 3-4 people ( average appetite). Raita is complementary and tastes well too.

Food is great 👍.. service (takeaway) was awesome!! The ambience is quite spectacular.. I was there around lunchtime for a pickup, pre ordered on phone 15 minutes ahead of time.. the place seemed very clean and maintains all COVID protocol.. great going 👍

Food and ambience are top notch. They served one of the lightest and flavourful biryani in Kolkata but their service is very disappointing. Waiters don't know how to smile, it's look like they force to work and under paid and we went there to enjoy free food. 😶

The ambiance of this place is quite royal. Interior design of oudh takes you back to the stories of Mughals. But I am disappointed with the taste of food. I had higher expectations than this. No doubt I can see many good reviews here but I didn't find the food that pleased my taste buds. Its good for one time experience. We ordered chicken Afghani kebab, galawati kebab, chicken biryani, chicken bhuna, mutton bhuna, rumali roti, butter naan and one mutton (something with gravy). Galawati kebab was beyond average, other dishes were just fine. In the end, if you guys want to have a one time feel of old age, its a good place for that, but don't have high expectations for food.

Ordered Raan Biriyani worth Rs. 450/- and got the worst Biriyani I have ever had. Avoid. Simply overhyped.

  • 5/5 Priyanka J. 3 years ago on Google
Never ever had such delicious biryani in kolkata, every grain of rice was indulged with all the flavours and spices. The chicken was soft and cooked absolutely well .. you will find in my videos that the staffs are resturant is equally respecting and taking COVID measure so you can dineout if you are planning to.

Awesome place to dine out with your family. Biriyani, Nargisi kofta and mutton Galawti Kebabs are its speciality. Due to covid they have good arrangements. They are using all paper based one time usage utensils. Please note they are charging 25 rupees per person extra for the dining kit.

The ambience is great...staff behaviour is also good..but good quality with respect to price is not up to the mark..and the 35 rupees plate..and 40 rupees water🥴

  • 4/5 Anirban B. 3 years ago on Google
Nice place, ambience is good. Currently they r following Covid protocols. They r charging 25 rupees person because of disposable items costs. Galowti Kebab and Luchnowi paratha are one of the most shought after combo. Firni was good

  • 3/5 Priyanka G. 3 years ago on Google
Nice ambience, good quantity, fair quality, though not pocket friendly at all. Moreover, now they charge extra 25/- per head for santization and disposable cutleries. Going Once is good.

I don't know why they charge for Plates and plastic cutlery(Bad quality) - 25 rupees and Packaging (Good) - 20 rupees. I mean is that a joke? After all those prices and taxes (Gst which is also a joke) you take, you charge extra for plates and all? Food quality was good. Ambience was good. Behaviour of Staffs were not that good. They always urge you tell the main course which you can or won't choose later. Because anyone can change their mind after starters. Overall a good place for spending free times. Rice quality of Awadhi special raan biryani and Murgh Awadhi biryani was good but Overhyped. Biryanis are overspicy. Drinks were good actually, Badaam sarbat and Gulab sarbat. Badam sarbat was the best. But they are wayy overpriced. Total bill was 2k and I think for all those items price was reasonable. We were 3 took 2 biryanis, 1 kebab (4 pieces), Laccha Paratha, Butter naan, chicken rezala. Quantity was perfect.

It is better that you thank people by sending them fresh biryanis rather than stale one. Every time I ordered biryani from you I got a fresh taste and aroma but this time you missed the same level of food. Please dont serve stale biryanis to people who believe you authentic and well placed. Regards...Hope this will not happen again

Awesome ambience and good food.. Restaurant is providing disposable plates and cutlery as a safety measure in this covid situation. While this approach is highly appreciable, but those disposable cutlery are not at all useful for chicken or mutton dishes as those do not have proper strength.

Ordered chicken kalmi kabab, mutton galauti kabab, awadhi chicken handi biryani and mutton biryani..... The quality of the food was worst and the attitude of staff were more worst... My recommendation to not visit this place as because of two things which are the utmost priority for any customer....

Best place to have biriyani, being a foodie I had biriyani even in Shimla trip. So after tasting all biriyani, I suggest to Paradise in Vizag after Oudh 1590 in Kolkata. Along with their expertise in each popular moghlai dishes biriyani can be considered as one of their best rated options.
