Leider hat es einige Schwierigkeiten hinsichtlich Absprachen vor Anreise zwischen Gastgeber und Gästen gegeben und auch auf Hinweise bzw Belange der Gäste wurde während des zweitägigen Aufenthalts nicht nachhaltig eingegangen. Das Servicepersonal an sich wirkte sehr freundlich und zugewandt, sowohl am Empfang als auch im Restaurant, jedoch wurden die Belange entweder nicht weitergeleitet oder von höherer Stelle schlicht nicht bearbeitet. Ein etwas ärgerliches Abrechnungsgespräch, vor allem über ein vor dem Aufenthalt geführtes Telefonat zwischen dem Gastgeber und den Gästen, reihte sich leider in den eher schlechteren Eindruck des Hotelmanagements ein. Trotz allem ist das Hotel wunderschön auf einem Berg in der Südeifel gelegen, die Umgebung ist ruhig und angenehm. Auch für Kinder ab ca 3-4 Jahren ist es sehr schön in der Umgebung. Selbstverständlich sollte man die Steigungen, wenn man zu Fuß unterwegs ist, nicht unterschätzen.

Excellent hotel, service, location and nature! I highly recommend to visit this place and take a hike straight from the hotel. Enjoy a pool and sauna after walk and very attentive staff will take care of your dinner with a superior view from the restaurant! It’s gorgeous surrounding at any weather, and scenery is changing all the time (every 30 minutes even). Rooms are rather big with all basic needs. Yes, this hotel is not new and has it flaws. But we, happy customers , read such flaws as unique identity and charming imperfection 🥰 P.S. my pictures are without filters

Sehr schönes Hotel in einer hervorragenden Lage . Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon, traumhafte Aussicht und ruhig. Der Service ist super nett und freundlich sowie kompetent. Die Zimmer sind sauber, neue moderne Badezimmer. Hervorragend ist die Küche, man sollte abends im Hotel sich ein Tisch reservieren, es wird alles frisch,saisonal gekocht und auch für Vegetarier gibt es eine gute Auswahl . Die Preise sind zwar etwas hoch, aber für die Qualität der Speisen zahlt man das gerne und es ist wirklich lecker. Frühstück ist reichhaltig und für jedem was dabei. Auch hier ist der Service sehr liebevoll und aufmerksam. Werbung machen möchte ich auch für den hausgemachten Apfelsaft, echt sehr lecker. Ein kleinen Minuspunkt gibt es für den Pool, er hätte was sauberer sein können. Aber wir haben diesen nur einmal aufgesucht und waren vielleicht zum falschen Zeitpunkt dort. Fazit wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt und eine schöne Auszeit, die wir dringend gebraucht haben. Lieben Dank an das gesamte Sonnenberg Team. Wir kommen wieder.

Had a great time at the hotel! The staff was kind and helpful and the place is clean. The location is beautiful right at the start of a hiking trail and they have a nice pool and restaurant. It's not advisable to work from the hotel since the wifi isn't stable, but for hiking I would definitely visit again. Also very dog friendly :).

Very nice and attentive service, which makes every effort to a successful stay of the guest. The swimming pool is open all the time so you can relax after returning from work. The resort is located off the beaten track so the views from the window are wonderful. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Wir hatten eine ganz tolle Zeit hier. Wir waren für 2 Nächte mit unseren Chihuahuas dort. Für jede Altersklasse optimal (wir sind U30). Das Hotel bietet alles was man braucht. Super freundliches Personal. Man hat ein kleines Schwimmbad, um ein paar Bahnen zu ziehen absolut perfekt. Das Essen war super lecker, dies konnte man auch auf den wunderschönen Terrassen mit Wahnsinns Ausblicken genießen. Hinterm Hotel beginnt direkt ein toller Wanderweg und generell gibt es sehr viele Ausflugsziel Möglichkeiten im Umfeld. Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, darauf hatten wir uns eingestellt, deshalb nicht störend. Und ganz ehrlich, bei der Lage, verbringt man sowieso kaum Zeit im Zimmer. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder :)

Puzzled about the experience. Hotel is well situated and some rooms are renovated. Staff does its best and is friendly. But atmosphere is a bit sad. Restaurant and pool are in their juice from the previous century. Apparently to the satisfaction of some visitors.

Great hotel! Nice location with a beautiful view. The staff was super friendly, the dinner and the breakfast were delicious. The room was big, quiet and with plenty of light or plenty of darkness (if you closed the blinds, of course). The mattress was very good as well

I was here one week for business travel. The place was clean and quiet.Personel spoke few languages. Sauna and pool worked so most of us enjoyed. Appreciate ms. Zulfiya for being kind and nice person.

Very comfortable bed and clean room. Loved the view from the restaurant and pool. A lot of choices for dinner, delicious food. Perfect for hiking directly from the hotel or to go by car to the Mullerthal.

Für Naturliebhaber und Ruhesuchende der ideale Ort. Zu Fuß zum Ort bzw. zum Hotel zurück sollte man schon fit sein, da das Hotel oberhalb von Bollendorf liegt. Aber es gibt auch genug Wege direkt vor der Tür.

Die Zimmer sind modern und zweckmäßig eingerichetet. Eine kleine Sauna und ein schönes Innenpool mit Außenterrasse helfen den müden Beinen nach einer anstrengenden Wanderung. Restaurant und Terrasse geräumig und gemütlich, das Personal sehr bemüht. Familien mit Kindern und Haustiere sind hier willkommen. Wir hatten ein tolles Wochenende im Waldhotel und haben uns dort rundrum wohlgefühlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Leider etwas altbacken und ungemütlich. Charme der 80er Jahre. Schöne ruhige Lage hoch am Hang mit perfekter Ausgangslage für die Grüne Hölle. Im Restaurant und beim Frühstück wird man gesetzt. Der Tisch ist nicht wechselbar. Hunde im Restaurant geht gar nicht. Service manchmal überfordert, auf der Terrasse kommt das Getränk auch nach 40 Minuten noch nicht, obwohl kaum Betrieb. Der im Internet beworbene berühmte Apfelkuchen und die Patisserieprodukte waren am Ankunftstag um 16 Uhr nicht verfügbar, einzig eine halbe Sachertorte. 2 Tage keine Heizung bei 6 Grad nachts, auch nicht im Bad zum Trocknen. Heizung kaputt. Am 1. Tag kalt geduscht. Auf Nachfrage kam dann Stunden später auch irgendwann warmes Wasser. Abendessen war o.k. Aber auch nicht mehr. Wildpfanne schmeckte nicht nach Wild. Frühstücksbuffet wurde schlecht nachgefüllt, Rührei immer kalt. 17 Euro?? Pool eigentlich groß und hell und toll, aber Boden nicht sauber, keine gute Wasserqualität. Insgesamt fehlte uns das Wohlfühlgefühl. In diesem Hotel. Es könnte vieles besser laufen. Dafür zu teuer.

Wir waren dort Essen und waren leider enttäuscht. Es hat an Personal gefehlt und deshalb war es nicht so wie es sein sollte, obwohl das Personal freundlich war. Die Portion vom Kuchen für 6,50€ wahr ein Witz super klein. Das Roastbeef wahr extrem zäh und wenn wir nicht explizit nach einem Dessert gefragt hätten hätten wir auch keins bekommen. Für die Preise wo Sie haben hätten wir uns wirklich mehr erwartet. Der Witz ist das wir nach unserem Besuch eine Mail bekamen wo drin stand eine kleine Nachfrage nach Ihrem letztem Besuch ob alles in Ordnung war, darauf hin habe ich geantwortet mit allem dem was wir nicht gut fanden aber ich warte heute noch auf ein Feedback. Schade.

we stood overnight here in the suite..the Staff were super helpful & friendly here and the restaurants food was tasty..the view over Luxemburg is breathtaking and relaxing..i would stay here again and i highly recommend it to those considering it👍🏿

Very good food! Superb view of the valley and starting point for Hikes in the Mullerthal.

Schön gelegen, sehr nah am Wald. Für alle, die nicht so gut zu Fuß sind ist der Anstieg zum Waldweg etwas schwierig. Ansonsten ist der Waldweg sehr gut zu gehen. Unsere Junior-Suite war sehr groß, sauber, viele Verstaumöglichkeiten. Leichte Gebrauchsspuren. Mit dem WLAN war es etwas schwierig - der Empfang nicht immer gut. Frühstück und Essen im Restaurant waren gut, die Auswahl ausreichend. Mittags gibt's erfreulicherweise eine kleine Karte. Besitzer und Personal sehr nett und freundlich. Hunde kein Problem.

The staff are are rude they are not approchable. out of there staffs only 2 of them we can communicate and they are frindly. Most of the staff cannot speak english. The room are not comfortable regarding the hygiene the floor are still dirty. Before we need to open our laguages we need to catch all the insects in the room like spiders, kevers en lady bugs. At the back of the curtains theres a lots of mold in the wall. The bathroom sink are very dirty lots of mold in it. In the restaurant we decide to eat our dinner but we did not have the food we expect, i order fish fillet but it is not fillet its lots of bone in it, i have a bad experience because the bones from the fish stuck in my throath. Then we call the waitress we ask her but she replied we cannot do aything else it is like that and then she walk away from us but yes we still need to pay it even i didnt it. My daughter ordered Toretelline pasta it didnt taste at all and the pasta is sticking each other it not fresh it was a frozen pasta they served to us. The the dinning area are lots of dust over all, spider webs overall. There breakfast is always they same foods from day 1 we arrived until they 5 we stayed there. Also they are doing some works in the roof its to noisy they send us email to inform the day that we cannot cancel my booking what a Hotel company it is. Normally we always excited when we are on vacation i wish to extend more days but this time we wanted to finish the week early so we can check out from this horrible hotel. This is iour first worst experience in our vacation in our whole life. I was so sad why i choose this hotel. Very not reccomendable.

For sure a great recommandation. I have stayed at this hotel for a few times when I come down to visit Luxembourg/Eiffel area. The hotel staff are very kind and helpful, rooms are comfortable and well maintained and their restaurant is cozy meals are deliciouse . It is a great place if you are searching for some quietness and some outdoor space.

Stayed for 1 night, also had dinner and breakfast here. Really enjoyed it. Can’t fault anything. Room was very decent with a modern and well equipped bathroom. Food was very tasty and can be enjoyed with a stunning view of the area. Also many thanks to the owner who drove us to the bus stop.

Room was big, but a little bit old, bathroom was very nice. Food and beer also pretty good! Pool, sauna and sitting outside....perfect...The environment is beautiful. Take a walk to Grüne Holle.

The hotel is in a nicely isolated country side. The scenery is beautiful even in the rain. The suite rooms were nice. The bathroom was nice with Whirlpool bath. The decor makes it look like from the 70s but it actually seems very recently renovated. Floor heating and spacious. But the colour scheme of the kitchen is a bit too retro looking. The location is close to the Luxembourg border. Things I was a bit disappointed: The suite we took was actually a floor of a house located in front of the hotel. This was a small nuisance in order to walk from the room to the swimming pool, especially in the rain and with kids. It was tougher when I wanted to use sauna. The suite had a total of 5 beds, but none were a double bed. And the bed frames moved often. So placing them close to eachother was not so practical because as soon as my kids or I got to the middle, the beds moved and one of us walk up because we were about to fall. The restaurant had a very average menu. The food was good. But I expected something more amazing for the price.

While a wide variety of wellness therapies and massage are advertised on the website - there are no massages available even after calling a week in advance. There is a small sauna room however it wasn’t warm when we tried it at 10:30 am even though the opening times were 7am to 10 pm. The pool was the only feature usable. The rooms were very average and not worth the price at all. They smelled of chlorine the entire time and lacked basic facilities like bottled water/glasses/tea or coffee/kettle. The less said about the food better - boiled pasta with slabs of grilled feta and no sauce was served as main course. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place as a wellness facility. You could stay here for a night if you are in the area and need a place to crash but then not worth the price.
