Lovely, genuine place. We (two people) didn’t have a reservation, but they were able to squeeze us in. After reading the reviews, we ordered the Chuleton, and we were not disappointed. However, the meat was a rather large piece (1,4kg) and more than enough for two. Roughly half was smooth and tender, and the other walf was more mediocre. Being such a big piece, it got a bit pricey, but the rest of the items we got were not expensive. The fries and peppers that came with it were also good, as well as the ciabatta-like bread for starters. Friendly staff with good service, who also helped me order in Spanish, gracias! The french toast was a perfect dessert, and I can highly recommend it!

Great option for lunch or dinner. If you come for lunch, you’ll have a simple option to pick the “Menu of the Day” where you can select a starter, main dish, and dessert.

Not that impressive for the price, it is very average basque cuisines.

The food was excellent. The tomato salad was the best we have eaten. The seabass was fresh . We drank the house crianza, it was very good.

This restaurant is mostly THE MOST AMAZING in Bilbao ! The service was good and fast enough , We had the T-bone steak to share with my husband it was so good and cooked to perfection. From starters to dessert the whole food experience was great. I recommend 100% this restaurant ! Hope we come back one day !

Really nice starter, I'm glad I tried the Cod both ways (Pil-pil plus another method I can't recall the spelling correctly) but definitely not to be repeated as both cod servings were very undercooked. My partner's stew, a recommendation of the house, was chewy and fatty meat in a lovely rich sauce but not a dish to be recommended as it was by the house. We both noticed neither dish was served particularly warm. Is this a thing? To offset our criticism the wine recommendations both for white aperitif and main red were both lovely. Service was also really excellent but check your bill! We were charged for one main twice, a genuine mistake we hope.

Authentic basque cousine, they have a restaurant and a pinxchos bar, cozy and quiet, outside seating available too. Great service, reasonable prices, delicious food. We ordered oxtail, fish and scallop as well as dessert. And a bottle of local white wine

Great fine dining basque restaurant. Service is amazing and the food is of superb quality. The croquettes are some of the best I’ve had, super creamy and flavourful. Chuleta is a must too.

Delicious food. We had slow cooked beef stew with puréed sweet potato. Super tender meal. Dessert we had caramelised French toast and vanilla ice cream!! Heaven came to Bilbao. Warm friendly atmosphere. Great service. We’re going back for more.

Had some excellent pintxos here for lunch along with a cerveza, sparkling water and a cappuccino. Helpful staff even though didn’t speak English. Definitely recommended. Clean toilets downstairs. Quick service and good prices.

An excellent restaurant specialising in Basque cuisine. I had the pork cheeks with pomme pure accompanied with several glasses of local red wine. For desert I enjoyed a slice of cheese cake with I've cream and a dessert wine. Service was excellent and the atmosphere vibrant.

We just passed walked this restaurant. Surprisingly nice. We first had a vermut and tapa at the bar which was very nice and tastfull. The waitress very kind and quick. The menu and wine very good value for money. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Awful experience. Bar man very rude. I really don't like to complain but it was awful. Only stayed for a couple of pintxos and a beer. Such a shame as we were looking forward to visiting. Not friendly at all. Kinda ruined end of our evening ☹️

Was recommended by another restaurant who couldn't accommodate us and Markina kindly did. Had a lovely dinner but afterwards discovered we'd been charged twice for the meal. Upon returning to the hotel to complain, I was told they couldn't refund me and I'd have to email the manager which I did. There has been no response in 6 days. Very disappointing, especially after such a lovely meal. May have to resort to the credit card company.

Wonderful, wonderful restaurant delivering great regional dishes with fantastic local produce. Spent the day in Bilbao and walked the short distance from the Guggenheim Museum to the restaurant. Had received a recommendation to go here and we were blown away by the food. We went at 2.30pm so it was busy with the lunch crowd, but we were taken to our table immediately and given time to read the menu while having an apero. Starters were Split anchovies from Mutriku in Arbequina olive oil and the most delicate and flavorsome white asparagus with vinaigrette and bouquet of fresh lettuce. Mains were fine clams with artichokes from Tudela in a green sauce and grilled cod loin with roast piquillo red peppers. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and warm and there was no pressure to rush our meal along, just to enjoy it.

One of the best restaurants in Bilbao. The lamb is amazing, as you can see from the picture. We didn't eat the bones because I was having issues with one tooth

Not too casual yet not too fancy. Great atmosphere and good service. Went there with a group of 6 and all the food we had was amazing. Especially the dry aged stake is one of the best stakes I’ve ever had!
