It's one of the iconic bars of Bilbao that's nice to see, but really doesn't live up to the hype. Food is bang average and service somewhat slapdash. Have a beer and admire the decor, then move on...

Great place, even if all other restaurants are full they can probably squeeze you in. The place is so beautiful, really a joy just to sit there for food or drinks. The food is good and at very reasonable prices. Not a huge amount of choice but lots of local delicacies. Staff is great and efficient.

Went there for Monday breakfast. The location is rice with a classic interior. The coffee was good. The tortilla tasty but the croissant a bit soso and dry. Prices similar to other spots in the area.

Place with nice interior, very traditional. Okay but some dishes could be improved

Traditional restaurant with a 3 course lunch menu (3 options to pick on each course). Good portion sizes makes it a good option if you are hungry. Home cooking flavourful style and friendly atmosphere. Decoration is nice to see with lots of "arabian" style tiles. Good meal overall and be careful to order wine by the glass or you will get a full bottle per person.2 menus (with 1 bottle of red wine) plus 2 bottles of water amounted to 33 euros.

Very ornate decor, pleasant staff … the real Bilbao! Ate the menu de dia on the slightly more expensive day of Sunday, but still very good quality food and value. Highly recommended.

Great building and decor, but found the food to be average at best.

We had lunch here, the menu del dia (3 courses) including wine as Well, for around 19€ per person. It was packed, super, busy. The food was quick, delicious, so was the wine. Out waiter definitely was a bit on the impatient, almost rude kind of side, but maybe thats part of the charme? We Chose to ignore and enjoy our meal, which was a really good deal. The place was equally filled with tourists and locals.

Second time I went here , first time was a disaster, unfriendly personal , we left after a beer. Retry….For pintxos you can sit everywhere you like when free for the restaurant you have to wait in line, after waiting 20 minutes, the same waiter told us restaurant is full/complet. Poor performance and even not client friendly. But we gave it a shot at a table for pintxos and the small menu. Menu was poorly in choices, after 15 minutes the table was not yet cleared or cleaned and we even had not been able to order a drink. Second disaster in 1 month . The place is beautiful to see and impressing. But I recommend you to go in, take your pictures and leave for drinks lunch, or diner. But you can also see the pictures in my review 😉 Not again ever!!

A must-visit café located right in the city center, traditional vasque cuisine and some amazing café con leche. Had only the chance to have breakfast in it, but the lunch menu seemed pretty good as well. Was actually recommended by the staff of the hotel I was staying in, and it didn't dissappoint!

Very tasty pastries, not too sweet and filling. Capuccino was a bit bitter for my taste but other than that it was good. 2 pastries and 2 capuccinos cost 8 euros.

Great quality food at reasonable prices. Of course, it has become an icon, which comes with a touch of touristic vibe. Be ready for some waiting, but the food, awesome place and nice staff will definitely make it a 5 stars experience.

The ambiente of Iruña is amazing 😍. It gives a wonderful Mediterranean feel when sitting inside and looking out to the park. The light, the colours, the mural on the wall- just wonderful. The food is ok, but the service could be more customer oriented to be honest.

Thanks to the staff for their warm welcome and great energy. You immersed us in the Spanish culture, the food was really delicious and that Sangria was so good. And for a very reasonable prize

Beautiful tiled café - the atmosphere is lovely and the service is great. You can sit outside, at the bar, in the café area or the restaurant one. The prices would differ and also the menu. Definitely worth a stop.

Very beautiful cafe with huge tapas bar. They also make lamb skewers. Lovely staff. Maybe my favorite in Bilbao

Established in 1903, this is (I guess, cause I am not an expert😃) real Bilbao coffee & tapas place. Atmosphere is great, place has some history behind and can be seen in the interior design. Really liked the fast paced and lovely staff. Tapas dishes… just awsome!

The staff is extremely unfriendly if they see that you are a foreigner. They don't have a menu, asking for one only received a laugh. It's worth coming just for the interior. Of course, no one speaks foreign languages and there is no service.

Delightful interior design, friendly staff and simple yet amazing pintxos. The price is also very acceptable (14€ for 2 pintxos, freshly squeezed OJ, and a latte)

Great pintxos and really really breautiful big place! I went there just for a little pit stop and try the pintxos that were amazing and to see the building. It's "divided" in two parts, one little is more like a bar and the other side is the restaurant also with musical instruments on the "balcony" where probably they have live music! Absolutely a must! People working there... They are not bad but not super warm and fast at least at the bar

I visited this place on the hottest day of the year and it was a great place to sit and watch people shelter from the searing sun. Staff very friendly and prices ...well what can I say..

Came for breakfast on a Sunday. Everything was pretty good, but basic. The interior design is stunning and makes the whole meal a bit more special.

We were a bit late (21:30) so the availabile pintxos were almost finished. But, the croquetas were divine, the staff was busy but very helpful and didn't miss a beat. I would recommend it for families, group of friends.

If you are looking for good pintxos, this is one place to visit. We took a stop here and tried a couple. Amazing tortilla, the lamb meat was very soft and flavorful and paired with some good coffee.

Historic place of Bilbao to have drinks and pinchos. Very nice interior and spacious bar to eat it. Downside that pinchos are served cold.

Very beautiful surroundings and delicious food and drinks. Definitely worth a visit!

Traditional and tasty pinchos served in a decades old establishment. Good quality food and kind service. I drank an interesting local white wine...

Beautiful place. Service is reserved but efficient.

A bit of a tourist trap. Often pops up in best of lists but I ate cheaper and better pintxos elsewhere. Avoid if possible

  • 1/5 Nikol K. 2 years ago on Google
Maybe we have been unlucky but we went there around 12 am and all pintxos were so bad. Felt like all the pintxos were just a mix of mayonesse and different fillings. Really bad. The interior is beautiful and authentic though

This place was recommended by our hotel and did not disappoint! Really good coffee, cool location with the beautiful tile work inside, and the pintxos were delicious and high quality. It was not expensive either!
