Maybe the best restaurant we have tried in Bilbao so far . Starters were very good. The steak, 2,4 kg grilled at our table was amazing. Desserts were heaven. Service was top. Restaurant design was excellent. The only small problem was the smoke with the steaks that were grilled simultaneously at the tables. But this was nothing compared to the overall atmosphere.

If I could give this restaurant 6 Stars I would! The service was very good indeed and that set the scene for the rest of the evening for me! We decided to share a T-bone which was priced at €68/Kg, but based on the cut we got 1.1 Kg of meat which worked out at €74.80. We were shown the steak raw beforehand (it had some lovely marbling to it) and by this point I had already began salivating! It came cut and cooked very rare, so we could then cook it more based on how we like our steak (see pictures). The meat was flavoursome and melt in the mouth, the best I've ever had....so far! The sweet red peppers were lovely and the fried potatoes crunchy and moist inside...both accompanied the mammoth steak well. For dessert I went for the roasted mango, biscuit and meringue with yogurt ice cream. This dessert finished the meal off very well. The mango wasn't roasted though, more like out of a tin lol. So, if you love steak, wanna splash a bit more cash and you're in Bilbao you'll love this place! ;D

The interior of the restaurant is very spacious and the décor is sophisticated and luxurious. There are also many private rooms available for business meetings. On sunny days, you can also dine in the outdoor seating area. The staff was very professional and helpful. We ordered 2 sharing entrees and 2 main courses. Croquetas de nuestros bueyes were very flavorful and creamy and Steak tartar mar y montaña was innovative, combining beef and red tuna, so you could have two meats at the same time. Solomillo de vacas gallegas was very tender and juicy, and you can taste the meat as it is without over-seasoning. Lomo de bacalao al pil-pil was very fresh and the sauce was very smooth. We hope that next time we have a chance to try their special Chuletones with more than 4 people, as the portion is very big and basically starts at a kilo, so we could not order it with only 2 people. However, the quality and taste of the dishes we ordered today were very good. In the end, we paid about 118 EUR, including drinks and Tarta de queso casera.

The starters were great and one of the best meals we had. For the main course we took the tuna, very nice but would be better with some fries or potatoes because it was kind of monotone. Over all very nice experience.

I have to say that my expectations were quite high, Im a big fan of the aged steak but this meat it wasnt aged as said,it didnt weight as much as they said (I know my limits very well),probably around 300g were added, and the Ox breed it didnt felt any differece between this Berrenda and a cow Rubia Gallega.The service was very good, but overall it is extremely expensive if we consider quality price. For 250pp you expect the next level experience but it stay as another very good overpriced steak. If you dont care about money this is a very good place, if you are just looking the best Txuleta, maybe worth check something else first.

Ok so this place definitely lives up to the hype. Voted the 14th best steakhouse in the world in 2023, it offers a wide variety of succulent cuts of prime beef and ox. We went for the Ox 140-day aged 1.2kg cut and honestly, it was without a doubt one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, if not the best. Strongly recommend a visit if you’re in town and looking for a memorable meal. Be prepared to pay as you pay though as the place is not cheap.

Go for a romantic lunch with great food and service. The ambience is unreal and the staff is attentive. We shared steak for 3. Mushrooms and the sausage were our starters. We didn’t have room for dessert.

I loved this place. As an avid meat eater (less so than when I was young), I can say this is top quality. Excellent wine list. The service was perfect, not intrusive nor absent. Great starters too, like piparras (green chillies before they become hot), red peppers and morcilla (blood sausage). Many more choices but not enough stomach room. Will come back for sure. Highly recommended

Difficult one to review. On the one hand, we had a great time, service was impeccable and food was ok. On the other hand, is this one of the best meat places in Bilbao (or Spain as some have said)? Does it warrant the price? I have doubts about that. The entrees were very, very good. The meat was flavoursome

Insanely good steak. I have eaten steak in Peter Luger in NY,Asador Extebarri and multiple places in Italy for Florentine Steaks and this steak is better.Most people who come to the Basque Country don't realise that steak is such a speciality here but it's one of the best things you can get. Comfortable chairs and swish interior too. Not cheap but incredible value compared to a US equivalent where you will get juicy blandness for 3 times as much.

Highest rated “steakhouse” 🥩 in Bilbao. Fancy look & feel in the restaurant with custom heaters & smoke vents above most tables. Friendly service, English is spoken by most waiters. Sidenote: bread & butter are charged separately without asking/mentioning. Delicious bread, we sadly didn’t got any butter when we dined here. 🥩 is chosen by a “cut” of +-1kg minimum (there might be a limit of 2/2,5kg’s for certain cuts. We took the Buey (ox) Gallego (1,3kg). This is standard served “bleu”, if this is not to your liking, you can cook it further on the grill/stove.

Bustling, yet top class service. The restaurant stocks meats both local (ox and cow) and international (Japanese wagyu and German?!) We opted for the sharing of ox @ EUR115/KG. The kitchen cooks it rare, and you then cook it to your liking after. Strongly recommended. Had sweet bread, octopus and mushroom starters.

Went for a dinner with friends, the service is very good, friendly and helpful staff, very good wine list, including good recommendations. The location looks very good and the prices are decent for what you get, top quality food and service. Definetly a good place for having dinner.

We visited with our kids and it was the culinary highlight of our trip. We all love steak, and the quality of the meat is superior. Even the T-Boneless on the menu was beyond tender and very flavorful. Bread was freshly baked and the beer and wine selection is of course great. Service was fantastic and always with a smile. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. Prices are high but fair for the quality and experience. Ranked 14th of the 101 best steak restaurants in the world! 🥳

Amazing ambiance and outstanding food. Waiters were quick and knowledgeable with a pleasant air of self-confidence. Visit the kitchen and see the beef hanging to dry. Priceless.

Top perfect service. Wonderful meat and salad. Total control of Glutefree suggestions and alternative. So good glutenfree bread as well!

Smart restaurant with helpful waiters and a reasonble steak selection. Unfortunately the day we went they didn't have dry aged dairy cow, which is what we were really after. We also had to sit in the gazebo outside, which was a bit chilly since it was raining very hard -- the heaters couldn't really cope.

Our diner at Amaren was wunderful. The place looks absolutely fabulous. The meat must be the best we ever eaten. What would make this place five stars is a an improvement in service. The service is polite and efficient but never really friendly or attentive. This would be enough for any other restaurant, but of you pay this much attention to the products you prepare in the kitchen and the look of the restaurant. The service must be in resemblance. But let this not be a Reason not to go there.

Fantastic food. I don't eat a lot of red meat, so I only had a small piece of meat from their a la carte menu and not from their meat menu. But was so tasty and well cooked. For dessert I recommend the Torrija, it is an unusual dessert to see in a restaurant menu and one that tourists will have definitely never seen before. But OMG it is worth ordering. Thank me later!

Great place, the meat was really amazing!!!

This was simply a fantastic visit and a meal I will dream of for many, many years! We were a party of five and quite hungry, so we ordered both beef and ox, and both were amazing. This was the most tender and delicious meat I have had in my enitre life, and something that makes me want to go back to Bilbao. It is always a good sign when everybody goes quiet and just closes their eyes in pure delight, isn't it?
