Not for us. We were passing through Koblenz and looked for somewhere to stay, but the hostel was not the best choice for this. Pro': - Very friendly and helpful staff. They speak English. - The location and view is incredible. - The room was clean with a big bathroom. - We were able to check-in quite late and hadn't eaten, they offered us a Flamkuch and we drank some delicious cocktails. Con's: - All the online info is in German and not clear when translated. - Can be difficult to reach. Our GPS sent us the wrong way (again, because of the difficult info), but when we called the reception they helped us find our way. It still took us a while and we could not park our car close to the hostel (keep this in mind when booking). - The room was very small, the beds were hard. - There were lots of insects and spiders in the hallway and our room, my boyfriend is an arachnophobe so this was not ideal. Not 5 stars because we didn't have the best experience, but not 1 star because we see the value of this place. Great for people who want to stay at a unique location and don't mind sleeping with a little less luxury, not great for a couple looking for a place to sleep for one night while passing through.

Best youth hostel location I have visited so far. Really great in the fortress high above the city. Insane view. The way up is either by cogwheel train or by cable car, which leads directly into the city. The rooms are quite modern and typical of DJH. Breakfast was also absolutely okay.

We stayed in the youth hostel in Koblenz for a few days. The view is simply fantastic. Our room was small and not that nice, but clean. The mattresses are indeed not very comfortable, a bit too hard. Since you're usually only in the room to sleep anyway, the room is completely sufficient. Therefore we were actually satisfied. The food is tasty, you can eat it well. Food was always refilled so that nothing was ever missing! Parking is a bit expensive and you have to walk a bit through the fortress to get to the youth hostel. Because you are a guest in the youth hostel, you can look at the fortress and the exhibition for free! Highly recommended! We would definitely come again.

A clean and friendly youth hostel. We received a warm welcome and were well looked after. The rooms are very clean and can be equipped with many additional accessories (e.g. baby bed, baby monitor...) From the youth hostel you have an excellent view over the Rhine and Moselle. The only disadvantage is the parking lot, which is not directly in front of the youth hostel, so it takes a few strong arms and a bit of stamina to bring all your things into the youth hostel. Still a wonderful destination

Spent a night or 2 there, was way awesome. Nice wine bar. Even though it was 20 years ago, will always be an experience to be remembered. Great people, great ambiance.

Excellent hostel, right on top of Fortress Ehrenbreitstein. Modern facility with all amenities you need. Was completely refurbished back in 2010 for 6 Million.

Great place. You are right by a museum and you have free access. Great view of Koblenz. It’s also a very nice temperature.

Really great hostel. Of course, the location is the absolute highlight. But apart from that we didn't miss anything. There were 2 of us: dad + child (9). We were given a double room with a private bathroom. The room in the basement also had a castle feel. A small point of criticism... Since it only had 2 small skylight windows that could be tilted, it was really difficult to ventilate. To be fair, this will be difficult to change due to the design. Food was really good, selection really big. We had booked half board, both were offered in buffet form. There should be something for everyone, as there were at least 10 types of salad alone. Plus warm food, cold selection, soup, dessert and much more. There was WiFi in every corner. The staff was super friendly. It was clean too. If someone was looking for a fly in the ointment, they would definitely find something, but you shouldn't forget it's a youth hostel and not a 5* temple on the Cote d'Azur. All in all it was really great and we would love to come back. A little tip: you shouldn't forget anything in your car as you have to park in front of the fortress. Easy walk about 10 minutes :-).

Great, well-kept, clean youth hostel! Sleeping in a fortress is a highlight for young and old. The rooms are available with bunk beds and normal beds including a bathroom with shower and toilet. The food is rich and offers a solution for all diets. After dinner or in between, you can enjoy drinks at a bar. There is a play area for the kids and lots of different board games to borrow for free. WiFi is free everywhere and has sufficient speed. There is no TV, but that doesn't bother you at all. The staff is very friendly and is well informed when it comes to questions such as how to plan your vacation. The booking also includes entry to the fortress complex, which also offers a program for all age groups. You can park in two different parking lots. From one you can take an inclined elevator up to the fortress/youth hostel. Here your holiday starts with a highlight. All in all a successful concept. We will be back!

Beautiful youth hostel, exciting environment for children. Modern rooms, great WIFI. The only drawback is the parking situation and accessibility. There is an "elevator" from the JUHE parking lot at the foot of the fortress mountain, but unfortunately it was out of service during my visit (as was the cable car). The museum car park at the top is expensive at €15 for 24 hours, but it's relatively easy to get to Juhe, but it's also a bit of a walk. The climb from below with luggage is intense!

We stayed at the Koblenz Youth Hostel, in the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, for the fourth time and we always enjoy coming back. The ideal starting point for a visit to the Christmas Garden. The location of the youth hostel on the fortress is great, with a very nice view of the Deutsches Eck. The breakfast and dinner were delicious, with a good breakfast selection. The staff is consistently very friendly and the rooms are clean. Unfortunately, it must be mentioned negatively that there are only 3 seats in the bistro and that you have to pay 15 euros per day for parking. Definitely a great youth hostel in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Very good youth hostel fortress Ehrenbreitstein with full board. Great courtyard & the best view of Koblenz from the mountain from the single room. Nice staff and best food, very good culture at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. Experience everything with employee DJH voucher, for 2 days full board. A few years ago. Tip Spring 2024 & Future. It's a good 5 minute walk from the parking lot. The food is very good and there are a lot of vegan things at breakfast. The room wasn't great, defective lamps and the exhaust in the bathroom didn't turn off.

Didn't stay in the hostel but bought a cold Raddler from their bar and drank it on their patio with a view away from all the tourists. It was perfect.
