My first Wagner opera in live performance. Axel Kober and all the cast did outstanding job. The orchestra sounded close to perfection, wind instruments were so clean and sensitive (what a dynamic range and incredible phrasings!). Singers performed greatly as well. Mime’s artistic acting should be noted separately. Even though in general I dislike modernist, so called regietheater stagings, this one was quite interesting with many symbolic elements. Lighting, stage design, costumes were quite interesting too. So, kudos to everyone! Audience was well mannered without creating unnecessary noises with mobiles and movements. The hall itself is rather small but cosy, acoustics is top notch. Highly recommend to visit.

Incredible place. Highly recommend the behind the scenes tour, it was so interesting to see how it all works. Our guide, Aki was fantastic. Saw Turandot a few days later and it was enlightening knowing the backstage workings a bit more.

Went to this Opera House for New year's Eve. It's overall great experience. If you are planning to visit do select seats opposite to stage otherwise the seating is not good for viewing.

Nice theater with an underground parking. The interior of the theater can not be called outstanding, but the repertoire is quite interesting. We went there for "Alcina" opera, and we really enjoyed it.

I travel from England quite frequently to see the productions here - they are simply marvellous. Saw 'Das Rheingold' last evening and can't wait to see the rest of the Ring cycle.

This is a very beautiful and easily accessible cultural center. But quality people make this place more beautiful. I watched a beautiful ballet here. The performers, props and techniques were great. I really like this place.

A superb experience watching Giselle ballet. A warm atmosphere, nice bar outside. Not like the old classical opera but nice.

I like the dated elegance of this building. They have great events and performances happening each month, there’s always something to look forward to.

Beautiful opera hall, with very high quality opera productions! Das Rheingold and Die Walküre, from Richard Wagner were simply amazing! Highly recommended!

Nestled on one corner of the Köningsallee. This is an old theater that must have witnessed a lot of mind blowing performances unfold. I went for a Ballet performance and was very happy with the show. Yes it's an old building that needs a good repair since I also had an experience of visiting the Opera at Dresden and it was out of the world experience with my beloved friend. So I can make a comparison. This for sure needs great beautification and work to make the performances that are going to unfold in the near future more memorable and enjoyable.

Very minimal, practically nonexistent, scenography and decorations. Having lived in London for many years, that aspect here was disappointing. But the singing was great.

Macbeth was very interesting, a rather unusual way of putting everything in picture, but very captivating

The theater hall itself was quite nice. The bar was of course quite overpriced, but that normal I guess.

An enchanted place, i went to the Ballet yesterday and was very moved, the staff are super friendly, the accoustics are great, the building and architecture are super, i had been here a few years back for an opera and it brought back many lovely memories and made it clear i need to visit more, the pauses end are signalled by a bell so you have plenty of time to go back to your seat

So far seen Wagner's Siegfried (in spring) and Swan Lake (last week). Loved the opera. The ballet was very contemporary and both my partner and I disliked the choreo in Act I, though we're still glad we went. Staff are friendly. The ballet open class is a good deal, too, though the studio is pretty far away...

Nice theater 🎭 located at the best spot on Dusseldorf, find a performance suitable to your taste and visit it. Parking is located inside the tunnel nearby in case you're wondering.
