Stopped in to treat myself with a dinner for 1 The clam chowder was really well portioned, even for a cup; it was quite meaty. Perfectly creamy and the right amount of salt; loved it! Emerald rose salad is a huge portion, a great salad for 2 to split; the mozzarella balls are a Great pairing with the avocado and the vinaigrette. More evenly sliced wedges of tomato would really complete an otherwise fantastic salad. The shepherds pie was the only dissapointment. Overly salted meat, using ground beef over lamb making it effectively a cottage pie as well. The potatos are good not great, making the entree less of a highlight, more like a lowlight.. The limoncello spongecake was a fantastic light but sweet dessert option. Finishing the meal off with a kiss of lemon. If you're in town, we'll worth stopping by! Maybe give that 35$ lobster roll a shot!

    1. I had the Brown Ale Chili to start with and it was very tasty. This was followed by the Lunch Shepherd’s Pie ($13.95). "Ground Angus Beef, Corn, Peas and Diced Carrots blended together in a Beef Gravy Topped with Golden Brown Mashed Potato". The mash was unseasoned and had the skins left in. It was piping hot and very tasty, especially after being seasoned. This is really a Cottage Pie. You get good cutlery and linen tablecloth and napkins. Service was very pleasant. 2. Sunday Brunch Prime Rib Hash (15.95) from @theemeraldroserestaurant. "Two Poached eggs atop chunks of prime rib, peppers, onions, and home fries, topped with hollandaise". The home fries had no skins and were crisped up nicely. There was plenty of tender prime rib. The poached eggs were undercooked and snotty. It wasn't the biggest serving I have seen, but enough for brunch. I really liked the homefries, so I might be back for another brunch dish.

For over 20 years we’ve been coming to eat here. I’ve Always enjoyed bringing my friends, family and neighbors. All who wanted the experience of a hard working, great family atmosphere and enjoyable people especially the work force.. The new manager, I guess has taken the place of the previous one, okay, moving forward, one night, while sitting at the bar, she came out of the back area, made eye contact, and retreated? Instead of walking around, meeting patrons etc… Her people skills are that of a rookie at best. She has the social prowess of a patio block, and an “I can read the room” experience, of a cross eyed dog trying to navigate a busy highway!! I am so sad to see how many of the great employees have been terminated, fired, or pressured into leaving? Needless to say, we will not be financing the owners of this place, or paying anymore for the Vaseline that greases up the ride downhill, that we know this place is headed! Long live Ma Newmans!!!

We have been customers of the Rose since it opened. Today, they have lost a customer. We ordered lunch to go and picked it up when they advised us to. Everything was cold! The burger and calamari could be heated up. The nachos were a disaster. There was little to no cheese on them, there were no jalapeños as advertised, the salsa was a sweet pasta tasting mess. For the amounts charged for this lunch, we expected better prepared quality food.

Absolutely love this place. The women behind the bar are the BEST and the food is delicious and well prepared. Even the rice I ordered as a side came perfectly cooked and really well seasoned. The Irish egg rolls were 😚🤌🏽!

Nice tavern with good food, excellent service, and ample parking behind the restaurant. My photo of the restaurant is from the back; you can find plenty of front photos online. My scallops were delicious and I opted for double the seasonal vegetable instead of veggie + rice. The other entrée pictured is Italian meatballs with mashed potatoes.

This restaurant is a wonderful choice for anyone who enjoys authentic Irish cuisine. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from hearty stews and soups to fresh salads and sandwiches. The ingredients are locally sourced and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with traditional music and decor. Whether you are looking for a casual lunch or a special dinner, you will find something to satisfy your taste buds here.

Maybe it was a bad day, but we were wildly disappointed. Recently moved into the area and were hoping to find a local Irish spot we could frequent so we came today for my birthday. Drinks came out relatively quick as well as appetizers and then our server disappeared. We watched as our food sat in the window for at least 10-15 minutes until our server finally returned and stated to the woman who appeared to be folding silverware that she had to gossip with another staff member because they were coming over after work. By the time the food was given to us it was lukewarm at best and the rueben sandwich had to be eaten with a fork as the bread became a sopping mess. Unfortunate as there were plenty of promising reviews as well as what looked to be a good menu was well but with this experience it's hard to want to return, let alone make it a regular visit.

Quiet but welcoming atmosphere. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful; she was attentive and enthusiastic. The espresso martini and blueberry cosmopolitan we ordered were both incredibly good. The bangers and mash and lobster roll (Connecticut style) were both incredible. If we’re ever back in the area, we will be coming back!

I enjoyed the lobster bisque and the baked haddock. The wild rice was also perfect. We were a party of 6 and our server Jennifer was excellent and made us feel welcomed. She was very attentive and made sure everything was just right. Thanks for a great first visit.

Quiet Dinner for 2-Warm atmosphere, staff was welcoming, food was delicious, oysters, irish egg rolls, turkey dinner & spinach berry salad. Our appitizers and dinner came out within minutes of each other which made us feel a tad rushed. Overall a great experience.

It's always a good time at the Rose. We love the bar staff, they are always pleasant and accommodating. Laurie, Danielle, Tammy and Jen are the best.

It's hard not to love Emerald Rose. A decent beer selection combines with great apps and hearty entrees to make this one of our coziest go-tos. You want a full-on turkey dinner? They've got it. You want fantastic Irish egg rolls? They've got those, too. To top it all off, there's ample parking in the back.

Haven't been here in awhile, but did not disappoint, espresso martini's were delicious and I had the very berry salad with goat cheese and it was great. Would have liked a bit more goat cheese and maybe some crunchy sweet pecans in it. Service was spectacular we had a new waitress and the backup waitress kept checking on us. She also provided freshly baked gluten free rolls for our gluten free friend ❣️

Every time I get takeout from here lately you guys mess up my order. One time you forgot the soup and I only ordered two items. Good thing I checked before I left and the hostess didn’t seem to care even though I had already tipped well. This time there is no Caesar dressing on my Caesar salad which is the whole point of the salad. Normally this wouldn’t bother me but it’s twice in a row now.

I was really turned off by the prices for drinks here, with "pub" in the name you expect better. I believe every mixed drink was over $10, and after 3 we felt ripped off like we had received non alcoholic versions. This is coming from non drinkers, one drink gives us feels. The Martini was good though. Chris the bartender was great, good humor, attentive service, fun, though we didn't see him on our last visit and the usual staff is just okay. While the establishment is classy it's not fine dining. The food was a mixed bag, Reuben sandwiches were terrible, tough, and so dry, irish nachos super good (high priced cheese fries).

The menu is broad and Irish inspired. The dishes can use more flavor. The portions are wholesome. The service is friendly. The bar is stocked.

I may be a bit generous with the second star. Craved Shepherd’s Pie and went to Emerald Rose for first time. It was soupy, tasteless, and seemed to be made without the usual vegtables (and possibly using dehydrated potatoes). Very disappointing. Hostess was surly, seemed put out by our arrival, and made us wait 5-10 min to sit in the half-empty dining area.

Had the pleasure of dining at the Emerald Rose last week as a family dinner. Food was great but more importantly our server, Eric L. Made the evening a positive, enlightening and great experience. Eric was polite, attentive, great attitude and served us with enthusiasm and was on the ball. Very charismatic, charming and polite. He is a nice breath of fresh air and a good representation for the restaurant. Food was great and the service wonderful. Combined 10+

I loved the clam chowder, irish egg rolls and the lobster roll. The dinner menu had something for everyone, but it all tasted so good! Lots of locals were here mid-week for dinner.

Chris (the bartender) was fabulous! The other person in my party was, let's say a bit grouchy. Chris handled him incredibly well and maintained a professional attitude. After all this, he invited both (me & my buddy) back for another visit.

Excellent Irish comfort food! Started off with Irish spring rolls, tasted like little Reubens. I had the Irish meatballs with mashed potatoes and my brother had the turkey dinner. Both were delicious! They also start off with a basket of bread. Service was very good, also.

No broth in first bowl of muscles and found a bread tie in it. Other bowl of muscles had many broken shells. Very disappointed. Embarrassing because we brought guest from out of town. Sat outside with dog. Waitress was really nice. Saturday late afternoon.

My boyfriend and i went on a trip to salem and stayed in the area, we ended up randomly going to this restaurant and to this day we still rave around it. The French onion soup- and the meatballs appetizer it’s to die for I’ve tried to remake it almost a year later. Have to write a review so i remember this place to go back. 10: /10!!!!

We went for prime rib and ordered it medium rare, it was not medium rare, differently over cooked. When you pay thirty bucks for a piece of meat, you want it perfect. The carrots were hard, I like mine cooked please. If you want a great prime rib go to Stelio’s.

Lots of great, delicious choices on the menu here. Start with the pretzels and cheese appetizer. You won't be disappointed with the open faced turkey sandwich or the roast turkey dinner! All of the desserts are amazing, but the apple crisp shouldn't be missed! Enjoy a drink while you're there - their specialty martinis are so so good.
