👍👍 I've been learning mantis here for about 6 weeks now. It's tough but so rewarding and the community is vibrant. So much respect for the guys running it, really good people. They teach praying mantis style of kung fu, boxing and have a gym too. Update: I'm now about a year in and this has been the... People often mention training, Kung,

I've been learning mantis here for about 6 weeks now. It's tough but so rewarding and the community is vibrant. So much respect for the guys running it, really good people. They teach praying mantis style of kung fu, boxing and have a gym too. Update: I'm now about a year in and this has been the most enriching thing in my life so far. I'm far more confident in general and competent at the martial artform thanks to the grace of my teachers.

One of the best places to train Martial arts in Birmingham. A variety of martial arts are taught here with top quality instructors, especially Kung Fu. Staff are very friendly, and helpful. If you like tough training and want to be pushed to your limits then this is the place to train. You don't find Kung fu like here elsewhere

Kids have been going here for years. My husband went for years before them. They truly learn alot. Discipline. Strength. Protection. Teachers are amazing. No nonsense. Really appreciate everything they do and how much our kids love it.

A place to learn a unique Kung Fu, called Chow Gar or Praying Mantis Kung Fu, southern style. No other school meets the high standards of training that this does. Highly recommended for those who love martial arts, the training is intense.

I trained under Paul the other instructors a few years ago and having trained in a few other martial arts and western boxing I can confidently say that the Southern Mantis and Kung Fu regime taught here was by far the toughest and most lethal training I ever did. I would say 90% of the work was conditioning. And it was rare anyone left training without bloody knuckles, aching muslces and clothing drenched in sweat. Unless you try it you wont get it. I would be close to collapsing in the early days due to the intensity. But the results were unbelievable. If you stick with it your body will turn into granite. IF you stick with it. Many dont. Paul Jones is also the most humble and decent of guys you could meet. I remember when I finally left to move on to another discipline and Paul rang me out of concern and offered me his continued lifetime friendship. Class. Pure class. I do still pop in 'on and off' to train as its just too good for getting into condition.
