Really amazing dinner and drinks at Bottega Cafe. Our bartender was especially attentive and we enjoyed everything. I had the chicken scallopini and can't wait to return and have it again!

Outstanding food. Caviar was to die for, beef cheek was amazing and the grouper was super good. I will definitely go back and I recommend this place.

Beautiful atmosphere inside and out. Great drinks . I tried a couple of different wines off their wine menu. They were all great . Our party had the salmon Flatbread and deviled eggs with caviar for appetizers, both were delicious. We had mac n cheese with chicken, Spaghetti carbonara, pesce del giorno and we all tasted eachothers. They were amazing. Ryan, our server was the best . We couldn't have asked for a better dinner . I highly recommend.

Amazing food and amazing experience overall! The ambience was very romantic and made for a great atmosphere to enjoy a meal with my wife. Our server Chris also made recommendations on what to eat and I enjoyed my dish. Despite not being a huge fan of Pork Chops, the ones I ordered were cooked to perfection! They were juicy and not dry at all with a fruity sauce that added extreme flavor to it. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Very fine food, service, and atmosphere. I had always wanted to go to Chef Frank Stitt's restaurant, having been a big fan when he appeared on Turner South's Off the Menu, way back when. We were highly pleased and enjoyed our visit. Made reservations for me and my wife after attending Beyond Van Gogh. Food was incredible, fresh, and flavorful. We started with the baked feta marinara and fococcia, then split a salad - delicious. For the main course, my wife had the pork chop and I had the hanger steak - both were fabulous. Was absolutely one of the best flavored steaks I have ever eaten. The vegetables we super flavorful and fresh. Finnally, the deserts were to die for, I had the coconut cake and she had the tiramisu. The restaurant itself was impressive. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. For the experience and excellent food, the price was fine. Look forward to going again.

As for the matter of the burnt honey vs coconut pecan cakes, the latter wins hands down. Very good cake. The pork chop was excellent as well as was the baked feta starter.

Visiting with friends that came in from CA and GA, we decided to make this our 1st stop to have dinner and relax. Getting seating at the cafe side that you do not need reservations for was pretty fast for a Saturday evening. The service was fantastic, and the food was amazing. My only complaint was the fan blowing on us. It was a tad aggressive, haha 😅. We will absolutely make a point to come here again!

We started off with the bread service and it was so good. The Parmesan soufflé was next and I could have eaten 2 more of them, it was simply amazing. I got a fish dish and my wife got a risotto and they were both so delicious. We also got their famous “Orange Thing” and it’s such a refreshing treat!

The food and atmosphere were absolutely spectacular! The martini was so stout that I only needed one! The rabbit was indescribably delicious. And the chocolate dessert was incredible! Our server was very attentive, polite, and professional. I was highly impressed with the entire dining experience, and would love to return again one day when I travel back through! I would highly recommend this restaurant to others as well.

I really enjoyed it. Food was really good. The thing that I don't like is that I had to ask for a single ice cube in my drink, I drink old fashioned's -single cube good place -serval ice cubes - Applebee's. They did make my second drink correctly but that is a red line for me. However, I will be back.

The soup was delicious and I could have eaten more of it. The local greens salad was beautiful with varied ingredients, was crunchy and tasty. I had chosen shrimp risotto from the curbside menu but was told it was not being served so they offered rigatoni with shrimp and crab. I got that. I was concerned when the bag of food was put into my car and a 'bad fish' smell came with it. My nose was correct. The smell of past-prime, not-fresh seafood did not go away. I also note the shrimp was overcooked. That entree went right into the trash.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service. We came here for a late Tuesday lunch and were not disappointed. We ordered the chicken scaloppine and salmon dishes. Both were perfectly presented with flavors that were well paired.

Situated on Highland Ave, Bottega reminded me why I love Birmingham. The food was great, service was awesome, and the staff was very knowledgeable about food and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere is very art chic with a sprinkle of Southern charm. Recommended! Definitely sit on the patio if you can get a spot!

I ordered the special of the day, which was seared scallops with carrots and onions on a bed of buttery grits. It was to die for and the workers at the restaurant were friendly. The food was a little pricey for the portion size, but I'm willing to over look that if the food and service is good enough.

I can find no faults with this establishment. Accordingly, I'm rating them with five stars. The staff is patient and highly professional. The space is very clean and pleasant. The food is (we had) is spectacular (lamb and rabbit dishes), with the exception of the choice of using a caper vinaigrette on the broccoli... (perhaps lemon and olive oil would pair better?). The deserts are inspired, especially the tiramisù. Note: One side is a Cafe (great for lunch). The other a formal dining room. I liked it so much we ate at both.

Great spot for a romantic meal with your significant other! The food is some of the best in Birmingham and the service is great. We had appetizers, entrees, drinks and dessert and everything was amazing! Highly recommend!!

We dined here on a Wednesday around 5pm and were able to get seated right away. I loved the venue and the ambiance was lively and upbeat. I had a ‘new friend’ cocktail and it was excellent- not sweet, which is exactly how I like it. My entree was fish of the day and it, too was excellent- well plated and had an excellent synergy of flavors and textures. The only thing I didn’t care for was the wilted escarole and spinach. I felt it was a bit sad-looking, boring, uninspired, etc. However, the bottega bar we had for dessert was eccellente!

We came in to have a nice dinner after leaving a funeral home, I had not been there in about 10 years. I ordered the baked feta. When it was brought to the table the bread was burnt. Shouldn't have even left the kitchen. Macaroni n cheese n chicken wasnt even hot when it was served. For those prices that was unacceptable. The only thing I enjoyed was the martini and my friends bite of her steak. Poor quality for the price. Sorry. Hopefully my next visit will be better.

Wanted to like this place but sadly it was just so so. The building is beautiful and that’s what brought me in. The women’s bathroom left much to be desired. It felt like a hole in the wall. Didn’t even have a decent mirror. It had a grungy, unsanitary feel to it. Our server was just… present. She brought our food. That was it really. She didn’t do much beyond that. The risotto was meh, nothing special (yes, despite the shaved truffles). I didn’t finish it, and didn’t take the rest home, and the portion was by no means large. Dessert was the coconut, pecan cake. It wasn’t terrible but was very small for $12. The patio is pretty so I’d consider coming back on the strength of that and trying a pizza and people watching, but that’s about it.

We had the most beautiful meal at Bottega. Ryan was in charge of our table and he was SO kind and had the most wonderful energy. I’m vegetarian and he made great substitutions to the dishes so that I could enjoy with my partner. From the appetizers to the dessert it was all wonderful and we had a lovely time. Thank you Bottega!! 💕

Only heard great things about one of Birminghams finest restaurant staples, and boy did it live up to expectations. We ran through the menu on a Thursday night, with the app Bibb lettuce salad as the standout dish followed by the bone in brined pork chop. The coconut cake, for those not in the know is “the” dessert, was as expected - fabulous. If you can’t get a table at Highlands then you can’t go wrong with Bottega.

Excellent from start to finish. My daughter and I were visiting from out of town. Thankfully, we were able to get a reservation on Friday at 4p. Our waiter was very friendly and provided impeccable service. We enjoyed an appetizer, entree and shared a dessert. The NY strip was the best I’ve ever tasted. Truly a great experience!
