This was my first time at Hattie B’s and I can’t believe I waited this long. It was absolutely the best chicken I have ever had! The Pimento Mac and Cheese was fire! The Bacon Cheddar grits were good but nothing too special. The Potato Salad was to die for!!! I made sure to save room for dessert and went for the peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Boy oh boy am I glad I did. I was in heaven! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Anytime we come to Birmingham I know where I will be looking for food! Top notch service and food!

Let's start with what we liked. The mild chicken tenders and chicken sandwich were the best chicken that we have ever had. The chicken was full of flavor! The black eyed peas salad and the fries were good. The waffles were so sweet and we didn't like them. The pimento mac & cheese was not good at all. The food should be served hot, but it wasn't. The customer service was excellent though!! The lady that took our order was so nice!! Thank you!

Food was really good! Food was fresh! Service was quick! I ordered the three wings ($13) HOT! with greens (spicy, but tasty) and pimento Mac and cheese (creamy and flavorful... a little spicy too). Wings served on a piece of bread with a dipping sauce. The HOT was spicy. There were two levels that were higher: Damn Hot!! & Shut the Cluck Up!!! Food was a pretty good size. I also liked that they had local beer on draft and bottled domestic beer. Update: Visited again.... brought the kids. Food tool 45 minutes to arrive, bit the Staff was very apologetic and brought my Diabetic son ice cream when his sugar was dropping. Food was fresh and great this time as well. I ordered the same thing. My son tried the grits (creamy, cheese, and good).

Visited this restaurant in Birmingham on the way back from Florida. It serves fried chicken, in the Nashville-hot variety although you can get it with or without the sauces. They have bone-in chicken pieces but they serve them as a whole, so a chicken and thigh (dark) comes in a quarter and not two, separate pieces as does the wing and breast. They have chicken tenders and sandwiches as well as a variety of sides to pair with your meals. I ordered the small dark meal which came with 2 sides and a chicken quarter. I got it unsauced although it came with a Nashville comeback sauce that was good on chicken and french fries. Other people got the chicken tenders and sides. The collard greens were good and not canned, the french fries were good, but the folks I was with didn't like the pimento macaroni and cheese. Overall, not a bad chicken restaurant and I would stop at it or another location in the future.

Very busy place but still a nice spot to enjoy some fried chicken. I ordered the half chicken with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was hot, fresh and delicious, the macaroni and cheese was good, collared greens were okay as well. I did try the banana pudding for dessert and it wasn't a favorite, I honestly did not like it at all. I definitely would come back especially for the chicken and try the other sides but I'm good on desserts.

We had the sandwich and tenders, with sides of fries and mac n cheese. The tenders came out wrong, but the staff fixed them (sort of). The tenders never ended up tasting the same as the location in Nashville, and despite the sandwich and tenders both being medium, the taste didn't match either time. The sandwich was good and the tenders weren't horrible. Both sides are great. Staff were friendly, and it was not busy at all a little after 5 PM on a Friday.

I tried this place when I was in Nashville it was extremely good and worth the wait. I was extremely happy whenever I was on business and showed up to this location and was able to get in and quickly even when the place was table to table. I have gotten a few different temperatures on their heat waves each one of them are amazing. I have tried their hottest (SHUT THE CLUCK UP!!!) I due not to recommend it unless you like is extreme heat. But with that being said most of the time when you get extreme heat you lose all flavor this place is excellent at getting flavor and heat. I recommend medium for most people that can tolerate some heat but not a ton but even their lower these levels are still absolutely phenomenal. Their waffles are a good compliment to the spicy chicken sweet and spicy.

My husband and I stopped here and got takeout fried chicken and waffles, grilled chicken, and sides of Mac and cheese / fries! Hands down some of the best “fast food” fried chicken, and my husband is a die-hard fried chicken fan. Each piece was perfectly crunchy outside and juicy inside. Mac and cheese had an interesting flavor but was yummy! Staff was awesome and quick, I think we waited 10 minutes at 7:30pm, not a ton of people there but definitely a small dinner rush! Excited to come again! Restaurant is spotless, they actually keep up on tables and restocking. I have no complaints besides they don’t have BBQ sauce…my husband was a little disappointed about that but honestly the chicken is good enough on its own, BBQ wasn’t really needed!

Best Fried Chicken I have had so far. Excellent food. Person who took our order was very professional yet friendly. Food was brought to our table. Very clean facility with extremely friendly, attentive and courteous staff. Clean restrooms is a plus. Keep up the great job you guys are doing. Thank you for your hospitality.

My family stopped by here when passing through Birmingham. It was worth the little detour. The chicken was fantastic. I liked that you could pick your heat level. My only regret was not trying the hottest option. Staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly as well.

The staff was great. The food was served fast and hot! The chicken wing were cooked perfect. They where crispy but not dry or burnt. The heat was excellent. I got mild which still tingled the tongue but did not over power the taste. The lady behind the counter convinced me to try the peach cobbler and omg, it was hot and with the ice cream melting into it🤤🤤🤤

Once we got there, we found a place to park. Once inside we could tell that it was busy, there were maybe 4 tables available on the inside and there was already 3 parties in front of us. Once we got to the counter, the cashier was friendly and he took our order. We went get our drinks where on of the other staff was also fixing a drink, he asked us how we were doing. Basically making conversation which was great. We sat down and waited for our food which took about 15 minutes to come out. This was no surprise since chicken takes about that long to cook. We both ordered the hot chicken which was out of this world. Throughout the course of our meal, several of the men working there checked up on us. I forgot to order Mac and cheese and when I went to the counter to get some he gave it to me for free. I mean as if they couldn’t get any better. The entire time my mom and I were talking about how much we loved everything about this place. Once we were done, we started cleaning up our table. Stacking our dishes like we do everywhere we go. No lie, one of the guys like ran to the table to get our stuff so we wouldn’t have to! We told him we were getting it, but he said we were good. The best service we’ve received in a while! We loved everything about this restaurant and will definitely be returning!!!

I ordered a chicken sandwich, pimento mac n cheese, and a drink. The chicken was a bit tough and the sandwich just had a pickle on it and a bun. The pimento mac n cheese wasn't bad, but I've had Stauffer's that was just as good. The staff was really nice and the atmosphere is cool. I just don't think the food was good enough to stand out.

I swear Hattie B's just doesn't miss. I visited these guys AGAIN this past Saturday which was a long time coming since I had not been there in about a year or so and when I tell yall they have not fell off. Everything was literally perfect. The staff was so nice, the restaurant was clean, and of course the food let's talk about that! I ordered the hot chicken chicken fingers mild with fries and loaded grits. First of all the chicken was fried and seasoned perfectly by someone who clearly cares. The fries were crispy and salty I loved them and yall those loaded grits... they were creamy, cheesy, and had freaking bacon in it! Oh and side note whoever is making the lemonade needs a raise because they put they foot in it as my grandmother would say. That lemonade is as southern as it gets. Hattie my love 10/10. Thank you!

My family and I had an amazing experience at Hattie B’s Chicken in Birmingham! The location is convenient with plenty of parking, but if you plan to visit on a Sunday, be sure to arrive early to beat the post-church rush. We got there right when they opened, and there were already a few people in line. Now, let's talk about the chicken! If you're a fan of spicy food, you're in for a treat. The hot seasoning is no joke – it's the kind of spicy that makes your nose run and your sweat glands kick in. Even the mild option has a kick to it, so if you have kids who can't handle spice, you might want to go even milder. Apart from the chicken, we loved their sides too; they were tasty and complemented the main dish perfectly. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy, creating a great dining experience.

Date night! My husband and I try new places on our date nights. We'd never been here before. The menu had some unique sides, i.e. blackeyed pea salad. The young lady who took our order was great at helping us make our selection. I wnded up with three sides while my husband tried the chicken. He said it was great and the seasonings used were on point. We also had the peach cobbler and banana pudding. Both were extremely sweet for my taste. Overall, the meal was served hot and was tasty. It was a nice night, and we sat outside, which made the evening nicer.

What a great place to eat. The Hot Half Chicken is amazing. The service feels like you are at home. And to sum it all up, this is a place to visit regularly. I even took their banana pudding home for a late-night snack.

The hubby and I were in town celebrating his birthday and we stopped in at the place before going to a bar. I had the chicken tenders and waffles. The tenders were fried perfectly and the mild was really spicy to me. I did not like the waffles had they were really hard and had weird taste. The hubby had the pimento cheese Mac and cheese and he loved it but the potato salad wasn’t that great. Overall nice place with great chicken.

A cool spot in an updated revitalized, part of the downtown area, surrounded by a lot of breweries and a lot of good food spots. The fried chicken sandwich was excellent! Juicy and seasoned well! We ordered it with the "shut the cluck up" sauce on the side and man was it good. It is definitely hot and not for anyone who cannot handle spicy foods. I have had hotter and there definitely is another level of spice, but this is still really really spicy! We ordered the red skin potato salad and it was like mashed potato salad. REALLY good! Also had the pimento mac & cheese and that was another REALLY good side as well. Employees were all cool and helpful and the place was clean with TVs of sports going. Wish I had not made plans for desert at an ice cream spot that we walked to about 4-5blocks away because I later heard that their peach cobbler is really good! NEXT TIME! THANK YOU HATTIE Bs!

I went there with my 2 kids and they both enjoyed the food which means it was pretty good. I thought the fried chicken tenders were very tasty and had a lot of meat. I wish they offered their own special sauce like other chicken places (Zaxby's and Guthrie's), but the chicken was good. I enjoyed the palmetto Mac and cheese, grits, and fries, but I did not like their baked beans as much as other places.

This places reputation is enough. It completely blows that reputation away in reality. Extremely moist chicken with varying levels of heat. The grits were also amazing. Grab a basket and sit outside and enjoy!

Heard alot of great things about Hattie B's and they did not disappoint. We were greeted by a friendly and sweet cashier. It was a family meal after a big game, so large party (8). Everyone ordered their meal got our cup for drinks and the food began coming out right away. There was very little wait time everything was hot and fresh. The service was excellent. The chicken was pretty good along with the collard greens. I would have loved cornbread with my greens, but they were flavorful. I ordered dessert to-go too stuffed to eat there. I would definitely eat here again.

Yesterday was our first time dining at Hattie B’s. It was delicious!!! The staff was friendly and very helpful. I’m all for trying the must-have menu items that were recommended. So I had the mild tenders, pimento mac & cheese, and baked beans. My meal was amazing. My 5 year old daughter had the southern chicken tenders and crinkle cut fries. She absolutely enjoyed her meal also. Her fries looked too good not to try and they were delicious and very well-seasoned. The atmosphere was great. We dined outside and enjoyed a nice cool breeze. Our experience was great, and we will definitely be going back.

Somehow it's not the same as Nashville. But, it was still good. The service was great. Food was good and fresh. Found a hair in our pickles, but that happens. Chicken was hot and fresh. The restaurant was clean and the employee in the dining room was helpful with cleaning the table.

I had heard good things about Hattie B's so I decided to give it a try. It was just okay. The sauce for the chicken was tasty but the chicken itself wasn't really seasoned. The Mac n cheese looked promising but.....unfortunately it was bland.

Best Nashville Hot Chicken, period. Who doesn't love a good fried chicken! But the iconic Hattie B takes it up a notch with typical hot chicken fashion, making this one of my go-to places in town. Good service and decor is nothing special. I have tried almost everything on the menu. With repeated visits, I have settled on my go-to order options of half chicken or chicken tenders or dirty bird fries. Their chicken tenders are definitely the juiciest and flavorful tendies I've ever had. But the dirty bird fries is the real MVP!!

Awesome food and service. I drove from Huntsville to see what this place was about with the high amount of 5 star reviews. This place does not disappoint. The entire staff was friendly. It was worth the drive and would come back again.

We were just passing by and wanted to eat outside somewhere! I am glad we chose this spot. The food was great! Hot fresh and the cashier was so nice and helpful. The view was also a plus. The chicken tenders are the BEST!!!

Jay , delivered awesome customer service. My last experience here the food was awesome , however the young lady who was taking orders at the door during the return from Covid service was awful. Shot out to Jay who made me feel good spending my money. I watched him as I waited for my to go order and his personality should be contagious. Thanks for providing me with excellent customer service .

Really good food and sauces. Recommend the dark meat and tenders. The come slaw and crinkle fries are good sides. The wait was very long, long enough to get frustrated.

Coming from Louisiana, this fried chicken was just alright. I ordered togo for the HOT flavored SM Dark leg/thigh quarter with a side of fries and southern greens (felt like being a tad bit healthier by adding some green to my meal). Also ordered a root bear float. The chicken was juicy but had no flavor by itself. You have to rely on having a good amount of skin to help the meat. The HOT level wasn’t that spicy to me but I do have a higher tolerance for heat. The chicken skin was crispy, I’ll give it that. It does have a tangy flavor to it which was a little weird to me but others may enjoy it. The southern greens are NO GO! Do not get this, go for any other sides! Even if you feel you have to be healthy and need some greens, don’t do it! Customer service was great and the staff was always helpful.
