The staff here were enthusiastic and friendly and the quality of the mixed grill was good and it was at a great price too. I would recommend here.

Great food, great beer, great service. The perfect local. It's rare to find a place this consistent. I've been staying nearby for work and am slowly working my way through the menu. The place is unassuming from the outside and is cozy on the inside with a subtle Indian vibe. Birmingham is full of amazing food when you want to adventure out; this is the perfect spot to relax, eat well, and feel at home.

Lovely Pub serving delightful Indian Food, this place is a hidden gem in Birmingham and a must visit for very good, cheap Indian cuisine. The staff are very friendly and attentive- and the 2 times I have visited- the food of an exceptional standard.

Had a wonderful meal with friends this week. The lady who served us was friendly and helpful even serving drinks at the table. The food was great and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. Really tasty food didnt have a mixed platter but saw one go past after we had eaten and would of liked to have ordered again.

29th October 2022. Interesting I haven't had a response to my review dated 8th August 2022. Has anyone else had an experience where they was given a corner of a piece of paper as a receipt? Visited on the evening of Monday 8th August. We wanted to eat in a desi pub which we had recently heard about. Only had one real ale on which was ok. We had a fish plus a mushroom starter. The fish was a bit plain tasting. The mushroom and broccoli was nice and spicy. We had a fish plus a chef special curry. Both were ok sadly there wasn't an option to select different strengths. A bit of an odd one was when I asked for our bill the young lady who served us gave us two corners of a piece of paper. On one was written 34 and the other 58. It was pointed out our bill was Β£58. I asked why hadn't we been given a bill. She said they normally do. I paid our bill of Β£58 by credit card. A very odd one. I don't have plans to revisit.

Went to sample the food. The Saag was lovely and flavourful and the meat grill platter was also good. All in all, a nice mid week treat. *** Used to be Jungle Bird before it closed permanently and saw that it’s now a new place so got curious and popped in for a drink. Didn’t eat so can’t comment on the food. People are super friendly though and love seeing a selection of beer on draft that you don’t tend to see elsewhere. A chilled place to hangout and watch a bit of sport. Will 100% come back to try the food.

Popped in yesterday afternoon for a quiet beer and some food. The new owners were very friendly and welcoming. Food was at a good standard and both the food and drinks were reasonably priced for the city centre. Will definitely pop through again soon.

Very poor service in the keg last night. Yes they were very busy but they hadn’t staffed up enough for the bookings they had. We didn’t get a lot of what we ordered and one person didn’t get a meal at all despite reminding them 3 times. Shame because it used to be wonderful πŸ‘Ž also the prices have gone up considerably to a point where it’s not good value even though the food is good.

Extremely disappointed after reading such great reviews. We were a big table and it was evidently clear staff were struggling with how busy it was. Wrong food orders, food dropped on the floor (I know accidents can happen) and waiting over 30minutes for the bill despite asking 4 times. One poppadom split into 6 small pieces cost Β£3.95. When it finally came to paying the bill, they tried to charge us Β£354. Fortunately we had already worked out that our bill was under Β£200. The man said he would go and check and miraculously came back with a bill of Β£180. Almost half the original bill. The reason was that they were busy so the bill was miscalculated. 1st time on reviews I've ever written a bad one but was extremely disappointed with the service here.

Cracking curry and wonderfully attentive staff. Garlic naan was wonderfully fluffy and karahi had the right blend of spice - great experience and the chap who served me was top notch!

Friendly little quiet pub on a Tuesday evening, cheerful staff and a good range of beers, excellent Indian food - enjoyed the fish pakora, then a mixed grill with a sauce to mix it up. Recommended πŸ˜‹

Absolutely fantastic food, wonderful and very welcoming staff. All in a really relaxed and warm pub environment with good drinks from draft. Must visit, if you’re out and about in Birmingham.

Very different experience this. Good real ale combined with an interesting Indian food menu. The seating was a bit close for me but I toughed it out and totally enjoyed my solo business dinner! Second time I've tried and will not hesitate to go back as soon as possible.

Strolled here from the Mariot Hotel for scoff, it was quiet but table service in a lovely old fashioned pub. Very happy with the curry, came slow enough to be mostly cooked from fresh. The pilau rice was very nice. Can fully recommend.

Thank you for making our friends from Stratford upon Avon experience of their first grill memorable. Grill was great different to the normal same taste everywhere else. They are now sold on grills and searched local grills near their home

We found this place on Google maps as new to Birmingham. Really good food and drinks. Small but perfectly formed pub with great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Smart friendly pub close to Birmingham city centre. Immaculate interior and they keep the beer very well. Sadly the food was extremely poor, my Punjabi Lamb arrived too quickly, in minutes in fact and it was obvious that it had been made by adding a sauce to pre-boiled meat and heating through. Not good, but certainly edible and hygenic. Like the kind of food you'd expect at a generic airport hotel. If you're after generous portions of well-cooked, authentic Punjabi / dhaba type food in a pub there are many far better desi pubs around. Its a shame, because they're lovely people and the pub part is brilliant. But the food is bland, insipid and kind of dishonest. A change of chef and kitchen could turn it around though. 2 stars.

We only stopped for a quick snack on a rainy evening and were pleasantly surprised. We had the fish pakora, chilli chicken and chilli chips which were all really good. Good range of beers, chilled atmosphere, sports on large-screen TV and friendly service.

Service 10/10 Drink selection 10/10 Food was so close to being great. Was more pricey than most desi style pubs but I understand they're in a prime Birmingham location so rent etc must be high. The mint yogurt was horrendously artificial. It tasted like toothpaste. The mixed grills and the curries were decent It's unfortunate that they very nearly have a vegan mixed grill, but for some reason choose to use dairy to coat the soya tikka rather than a dairy free milk? Would bring in much more business if vegans could get a mixed grill in the city centre! Missing out on a money maker there. Paying the bill as a group was also very complicated as everything comes up on your bill as "veg main, non veg main, veg starter" etc so a bit tricky to work out who's had what. With some tweaking this place could be amazing. I hope they take my comments constructively
