Amazing location! Located in the very heart of Birmingham right next to New Street Station this premier inn is great. Staff are very helpful and the rooms are clean, if slightly worn. Very cheap- being 60 pounds for a family room, I strongly recommend this hotel

Fantastic service. The team are so welcoming, cheery, and responsive. The bed is very comfortable and the location is excellent. The rooms are starting to look just a little tired, perhaps needing a lick of paint. Would definitely return again as its great value for money and the service beats a number of much more expensive hotels nearby.

It's a pretty nice place to stay, with the central location you can reach pretty much anywhere you wanna go by foot, lots of bar & food opportunities as well. Or if you wanna go anywhere further, you can take the train/subway station about 3-4 minutes walking distance away from there. My room had AC, an alright view from the window (6th floor), a clean bathroom, including three different sized towels soap/shampoo and a hair dryer. They have two elevators, but you can also take the stairs, though not recommended if you have one of the most upper floors as your room, the walk takes a while. The ladies & gents at the reception have always been nice and kind when asking for help or directions. The included breakfast at the restaurant next door has the usual British dishes and options, it's been pretty good.

Parking - Various places to park at different cost. It's a 5 min walk to the car park, that's next to the Police Headquarters (B4 car parking) 1, The front desk staff are fine, friendly and helpful. 2, Rooms are clean with air conditioning. 3, The best rooms are on floor 5/6/7. 4, Nice restaurant and breakfast, although could do with some more fresh fruit options. 5, Just a few min walk to the train station. 6, Surrounded by places to eat and drink. 7, Nice Cathedral, very close by. 8, Feels safe and a good vibe. 9, Plug socket and usb next to bed.

To be honest I haven't stayed in a premier Inn for a good few years but the staff were brilliant, the room was great. The only negative side was the bar closed at midnight and after being to a concert it would have been nice if the bar could have stayed open a little bit longer. On the plus side you could walk round the corner and find a bar. Would I stay there again well that's easy Yes and also if you book early it's far cheaper Most hotels were 3 times the price for that night.

Stayed in the premier plus room and it was well worth paying for the upgrade as the room is easily 4* level. The breakfast was also very impressive with a range of different options alongside all the staff being really friendly.

Issue with room as we thought we booked twin when it was a double, the staff worked hard to move us and accommodate us despite the busy Saturday bookings. Kind staff member, I think their name was Neme, accommodated us with a smile. Only problem we faced was a faulty hairdryer which was acknowledged immediately. Great location for concerts, shopping and site-seeing, quiet for a city hotel, good nights sleep and helpful staff.

All room and breakfast good but corridor smelt badly of damp on 4th floor. Other floors were OK. Bed felt damp too even though there were 2 vents put in the wall( clearly trying to solve it) Bathroom fan went all night even though I hadnt showered.

Paid for 2 nights, stayed one on the basis of no sleep caused by outside noise til around 3am. Sirens, cars, bikes, people shouting, baseline reverberations through the building from clubs and cars, internal whining from water pipes. Just an altogether bad stay for a 5 month pregnant woman and a 48yr old male looking for a night's sleep after shopping! This is a great place to stay if you want to be in the thick of the action, out boozing and clubbing all night. The street cleaners started at 7am! Woman on the desk was nice.

Just back from the loveliest stay at this hotel. Location was handy, premier plus bed was comfy and the breakfast was delicious. Massive shout out to the staff who helped us check in (computer problems), on 16/2/23 at check in time. While I didn't get their names, they were extremely helpful and a good laugh!

We stayed for 2 nights and had breakfast and evening meals here. The staff on the front desk were all very attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were very clean and cared for and asking for extra towels and room cleaned in-between our stay was not a problem which was brilliant particularly in such heat as it was very hot during our stay. The staff in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner were excellent. Not forgetting the chef. The food was lovely. It's central to all amenities, and we would certainly recommend it to family and friends. Thank you to you all for helping to make our stay a pleasant one.

Excellently located hotel, friendly and helpful staff and decent rooms. Nothing really special, but being a Premier Inn, you know what to expect. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet (even at the front). Tea/coffee, iron, and all the things you'd expect. Wall-mounted soap/shampoo/shower-gel in the bathroom. As with many Premier Inns, it's attached to a Bar+Block Steakhouse, where breakfast is served. There can be a queue for the coffee (only one coffee machine), but things work quite well overall. At busy times, certain items (including plates) are not replenished as quickly as they could be, but they may be due to a lack of staff. All in all, a pleasure, as always, to stay here.

Easy check in. Comfortable room, but no Beefeater or Table Table restaurant attached. Attached was a rather extensive steak restaurant. Nearest parking was 10 minutes walk away, but in a well lit, very clean multi storey park, so not a problem. The traditional Premier Inn breakfast was available in the steakhouse. With many restaurants nearby, my stay was as good as expected.

Good location, very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was disappointing. This is one of the things I look forward to when stopping in a Premier Inn. Coffee machine was broken, no black pudding and all other hot item's were luke warm. Still a decent stay but need to sort the breakfast out.

One of the better premier inns that I have stayed in, the restaurant and bar underneath is actually very good. And if you are staying in Birmingham, this is a good centre point or base to get you everywhere/keep you near to where you need to be. Good night staff got a bit grumpy with us and seem to be quite choosy with who they believed was staying there or not (unreasonably so in my opinion) but overall this was very good and I think we will stay here again next time we visit Birmingham. Do yourself a favour and get a plus room. You get Wi-Fi and a mini fridge.

No its not a boutique hotel, but for the price, it was great quality. Extremely helpful staff, clinically clean rooms, and perfect location for all the best bars on Birmingham. I will certainly stay here again.

Rooms were good, but only had 1 set of towels for 2 adults. Otherwise, would have been 5 stars

The hotel is in a really good location. It is close to the high street and over looks a beautiful cathedral. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is connected to a bar and block steakhouse which is where breakfast is served. Breakfast was great with a big spread. We was on the 6th floor out of 7. Didn’t hear any disturbance from the pubs round the corner. Would definitely return again.

Spectacular team and definitely will consider coming back if I'm in Birmingham!! Our party arrived earlier than the scheduled check in time and we asked the front desk if we could just drop our bags off and come back later to check in, thankfully they told us the room was already ready and that we could check in now to save time. We booked 2 rooms and unfortunately one of the rooms had a broken AC, which was hell considering it was 32 degrees and unbearably stuffy... Contacted front desk and they told us that maintenance would be up to fix it within 20 minutes. 45 minutes passed and we let the front desk know again. They apologised and explained that the only staff members working today were 2 on reception and 1 in the back, so their hands were practically tied dealing with other issues too (which was fine, we didn't mind waiting as long as the job was done). Thankfully we were booked a new room, which was spacious and had a beautiful view of the city... maybe the broken AC was our lucky charm! The location is very convenient too; located right next to a beautiful cathedral and park, 5 minutes from Grand Central & New Street Station, 10 minutes from Chinatown and there are trams and bus services running all around so you can really explore the city. I have to give credit where due, but the staff are really top notch!!

Noises! Room was fine, good value clean and comfortable. Dates but good for 35 I’ve paid not more. There was some noise though, some kind of horn-type noise after 11pm it didn’t sound like another guest not sure where it came from? Also could here crashing of bottles outside at 7am no big deal for me as I’m up, but maybe an issue for some. Not sound proofing from the street probably not ideal for Fri/sat.

Was recently stranded in Birmingham CC due to train issues, took a walk around looking for a hotel and found this branch. Booked a room early in the morning, and was greeted by a lovely receptionist in the morning, she was so friendly and caring. Got a really good room with a great view, the room was spotless andf hotel generally very quiet, apart from the usual banging of doors you find in all hotels, just inconsiderate people allowing doors to slam. Had a good nights sleep, the temp was perfect and a very unusually you was allowed to open windows for fresh air, plus the new soap in the bathrooms was lush. A highly recommended branch. Perfect location for shopping, food, and just 3 mins walk to train station. Ask for the top floor with church view .

If you want a city centre experience then book this hotel. Close to all amenities it's location is superb for a night round Brum. Only downside? Parking. If you cannot get in to the local multi storey (gets very busy) then the only option is on-street parking which is limited in its availability, relatively expensive & a little annoying as you can only stay for a maximum amount of time in one place before having to move (think it's a maximum of 5 hours but it could be 4 - sorry, cannot remember!). So, best thing is to train or bus it in but location wise, it's great.

What can I say? No surprises. Pleasant staff. Easy check-in. Clean room. Lively bar downstairs. Dropped one star because my room faced the lift doors so there was footfall and clunking during the night and early morning, there was a lovely balcony and view but no way to open the doors and the bathroom layout was weird. The space was roomy but the WC was crammed in a corner behind the door. Nothing to prevent me coming back again.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, went the extra mile and looked after our kids. Great location and clean room. Good breakfast and at a decent price.

Good location as near shops and the train station. Bed comfy. Need USB chargers in the room. Soft closing doors would be good as woken by neighbours banging doors. Staff friendly and helpful.

5 stars for Pauline and the amazing team here. Couldn’t fault the service from the staff. Went above and beyond, so much so that we returned to our rooms to a card and small gesture gift to celebrate my graduation and my parents anniversary. The location is central and can easily be walked to from the main railway stations in Birmingham. The convenience of this hotel means I’d certainly return. Some of the rooms are looking tired , but the cleanliness cannot be faulted.

This is a great hotel if you're on a budget as it is good value for money. The location is central and can easily be walked to from the main railway stations in Birmingham. The room I had was clean and spacious. I didn't eat in the attached Bar and Block restaurant in the evening but I can certainly recommend their breakfast as that was delicious!

Great value. Stayed over to attend separate social events. Service was friendly and helpful, especially Christine. Room was clean and comfortable.

Room was perfect and clean. Staff were very pleasant, checked in straight away. We were given a complimentary breakfast when staff learned we were on a surprise date after recently getting married. This was unexpected and lovely. Breakfast was freshly cooked and the staff at The Bar and Block were great. Thank you for making our stay a special one. 🥰🥰🥰 The view to our room was incredible also :) x

Stayed 3 nights during the CW Games. The location of the hotel was excellent, very central next to the cathedral & gardens, short walk to most places, and easy parking at Snow Hill carpark just a couple of minutes away. There was some noise from nearby bars through the night, and quite busy outside in the evening (Fri & Sat) but security on the door was reassuring. The beds were comfy as ever but with two kids beds up the room was cramped. Aircon was welcomed but not always that effective. Breakfast buffet was very nice although it wasn't clear that we had to pay at the hotel reception and couldn't pay in the restaurant

Recently stayed here for 2 nights. I regularly stay in Premier Inns when needing a quick/easy option, particularly if I'm on a tighter budget. Good option for the city centre, it was very central to the venues I was visiting. Only grumble is that the room I was in faced the street and it was very noisy on my first night with sirens, alarms, people etc. The second night was quieter (either that or I was so tired from a lack of sleep on night 1 that I was out for the count!). So maybe ask about a quieter option if you're a light sleeper or easily disturbed. Internally I wasn't disturbed by other guests though I was at the very end room. Other than that, usual Premier Inn standard, comfy bed and pillows.

Nice hotel but it is by a party area with night clubs etc so Friday and Saturday nights are loud. Also on the sixth floor there is a weird noise coming from the ceiling above a ceiling tile. Might want to look into that as it was like some drilling outside our room. Staff was great tho.

Comfortable and very clean! Slept well, good pillows. Bath in good sized bathroom. Extra soundproofing on windows, really good. Staff lovely, so friendly. Breakfast excellent. Sockets by the bed with a usb charging point also. The hvac is noisy when you run it, but you can turn it off to sleep and then everything is perfectly quiet, so that's ok in my book.

Possibly the most depressing premier inn I e stayed at. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful but the hotel itself is a mess. The aircon is so loud you can’t sleep with it but the rooms so cold at the moment that you have to put it on to heat up a bit. The rooms are tired, cramped and in need of a good clean and refurbishment. This stay was one for the sleep guarantee reclaim!

  • 2/5 C W. 1 year ago on Google
Unfortunately the heating didn't work the entire time I was there (3 nights in November). I was given a small electric heater to use but that didn't heat up the room I was in adequately. If that hadn't happened I would haven given this a 3 star for its overall score.
