Accustomed to Indian food I found Ethiopian/Eritrean a little bland... But the BONELESS FISH was EXQUISITE, quite the tastiest and most satisfying fish that I have ever been served in the West Midlands, well worth a visit there in its own right if you order .nothing else!. I must add that the service is very good too, courteous, welcoming, and helpful.

Such a chill place with amazing food. The portions are massive and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a calm vibe and you can stay for hours on end munching food, drinking coffee and chatting. The owners/staff are super friendly and welcoming. Staff confirmed that the meat is halal.

Recommended to us and we were not disappointed, quite the opposite. Yes the outside isn't great but inside is just lovely. Warm and friendly atmosphere, very welcoming staff, with good advice and tasty food at a reasonable price. We were asked about dietary restrictions and/or veggie, vegan choices. Will definitely go here again 👍

Great customer service and lovely ambience, the food is 10/10 in terms of presentation, value and taste, and if you like a drink I recommend trying their 'Tej' Ethiopian wine. Absolutely divine.

Do not, I repeat, do not let the exterior of this place deter you from dining here. Amazing food, very reasonably priced and great staff. Visited here with my wife for afternoon lunch. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We're Londoners and wish this place was closer to home. Definitely recommend

We had a lovely time at blue Nile Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant this evening. It was our first time here and eating habesha food. Not only was the food fresh, it was very tasty and authentic. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They helped us choose our meal and also accommodate our requirements. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful evening. We hope to visit again soon.

I'm sorry but I forgot the name of the dish we had, it was number 49 on the menu. Every 'curry' was different and I enjoyed every bite. I can't wait to come back and try the vegetarian version. Recommended!

Lovely place, great food and really friendly service. Absolutely loved the food and looking forward to going back. Do both vegan and meat options and have a selection of spicy dishes too. Good value in my opinion.

Hands down the best place to get Ethiopian food in Birmingham! our server was patient and nice to 9 uni students. Had coffee ceremony as well, which was just beautiful! Just go and see, you won't regret!

If you want Ethiopian food at its best, then Blue Nile is the only choice! We ordered the Blue Nile special for two and a vegan combination platter. The food tasted absolutely delicious and the portions were huge. The lady serving us was super friendly and kind. The whole restaurant was decorated really nicely as well. Definitely coming back for more 👌

Our first time trying Ethiopian food. We ordered the platter and the tej, of course! It was such a lovely experience getting a taste of many items at once. Great value for money also.

A hidden gem of Birmingham, this place is amazing in every way. When you see it from outside you think it's a tacky, but the decor is outstanding, the atmosphere is epic and the food is to die for. Reasonably priced as well, honestly a must go to if you in Birmingham. Price is unbelievable, we had starter, mains for 3, cold drinks and hot drinks and desser for little man all just over 60 pounds. Keep it up guys. My only little advise, just upgrade your shop front because it doesn't represent how truly brilliant you are.

Excellent service , friendly and welcoming staff. The food is authentic and tastes amazing! The atmosphere is very homely. Second time visiting and it’s always super nice. Always go for the vegan platter for 2 and it’s a generous portion. Not only is good value for money, but the service, the atmosphere is superb! Authentic tasty food! Highly recommend!!!

I love this place and visit every time I go to Birmingham without fail. I've brought several people along on different occasions and they have all loved the food at first try! Only complaint is they are far away from me! Lovely food, great service and friendly staff always feel welcome and comfortable when I visit. The honey wine, tej is also amazing.

This place is an absolute banger! My friends and me took the Blue Nile plate for 3 people, so that we can try as many dishes as possible. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is definitely something different from what we are used to in Europe, but it is so delicious, everyone should taste it. However, take care, some other dishes are made of raw meat. And also, some dishes are meant to be eaten with plain fingers. That is how it is meant. Just saying so that you dont get surprised. Not to mention the really nice service. That lovely gentleman even offered us some special eritrean beer that was not found on the menu.

Great atmosphere, friendly owners and has lots of tasty, healthy vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetarian platter which came with 4 different lentil dishes, 2 veg dishes and salad. All served with injera (Ethiopian flatbread). Was reasonably priced and would definitely go again.

Fantastic food. Tried some dorowat and yebeg alicha wot, both beautifully cooked. The host kindly offered us injera which was a very unique bread experience. The best part of the meal was Tej , the Ethiopian honey wine to go with our food. The prices were unbelievably reasonable. We have every intention of going back to try more of their beautiful dishes and a coffee ceremony.

It doesn't immediate look it from the outside, but it's a really lovely restaurant with friendly service and an amazing food! We ordered a sharing meal for two with a variety of meat and veggie toppings on injera and we devoured it within minutes. Ethiopian beer was lovely, too. We also appreciated the useful overview of allergens at the beginning of the menu and the staff were accommodating when we asked for anything dairy on a separate dish.

What an amazing meal. The sharing platter for 2 was absolutely delicious - so much variety and flavour. We can’t wait to come back for more. Incredible beers also - we loved the Asmara and the St George. We also came across the Tej which was absolutely fantastic - a Ethiopian mead, insane! We will definitely be back!

A lovely restaurant with a great vibe. The staff was extremely friendly, caring and easy going. The decor is very fitting. All aspects deserve the praise, but the real star od the show was food (as it should be in the restaurant). The portions were very generous and the food itself was absolutely delicious with a great balance of flavours. If you have never tried food from this part of the world, then this is your call to do so! I promise you won't be dissapointed.

I went in for a take away, staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I chose the vegetables with rice and the food was incredible. Portions were very large, but I ate it all, as it was just so good I couldn't stop eating it. Very good value for money as well. Will definitely come again.

Called in here the other night after a Queen songs at St Paul's Church. Very friendly staff who talked us through what we should try. Totally different experience. Started with a couple of Ethiopian beers, very nice. Went for the mixture of 10 different meals all served on one ginormous Ethiopian bread. Meal consisted of vegetarian and meat selections also served with more rolls of Ethiopian bread. Quite a lot of food which we couldn't finish, so we had it boxed up and took it away. Finished off with a very nice red tea. Will definitely call again.
