Positives - breakfast was great. Negatives - - Rooms are so small it was tricky with a baby and sleeping arrangement and moving around. . - lights too bright so when baby slept we also had to turn the lights Off and sit in darkness. Dimmer switch would make sense. - room smelt of old damp and smoke residue didn't feel assured of air quality in the room. - had a room facing residential no blinds or nets so couldn't open curtains so the room was dark all the time in the day. No privacy. - huge huge issue we paid for early check in 3 days in advance. But still in the day cleaning staff proceeded to walk into our room uninvited when I told them no don't come in when they knocked. I was just about to breast feed my baby and not dressed properly and the person walked in and then started chatting I was gob smacked and speechless. How unprofessional and how rude. The same cleaner with colleague stood outside our door chatting and being loud when I was trying to put my baby to sleep. Husband had to go outside and tell them is everything is ok for them to finally shut up and disperse and do some actual work. - Bathroom tiny no room for me and to wash baby. Very awkward. Husband stayed pre pandemic many times and he said the place was good then but now it's gone downhill and we won't be returning again. For 1 night we paid so much for what all the negatives listed above.

Reception staff we're very friendly. Nice breakfast variety. The room was lovely, the bed was really comfortable. Had a desk and chair so I could do some work. Internet was free (just have to register your email) that was a bonus!! The water and heating was nice and hot.

Although the bed wasn't the comfiest, we did enjoy our stay here. The set up of the room was really cool and the bathroom is almost like a capsule with a stand in shower inside. The location is about a 5 min drive from the Bullring or a 30 minute walk. The staff were friendly and the hotel looked clean.

First night and second night stay was amazing. 3rd night decide to have dinner again in Resturant. Meal come up cold and burnt so sent back. When new meal arrives chips have so much salt on them, garnishes for the burger are none, bacon and pinion rings cooked so much was unbeatable Such a shame. Especially as I love a burger. But my mouth from the amount of salt.

Expected a better service from Ibis but disappointed after all. Stayed for 2 nights. TV in my room did not work, staff was asked to provide a remote control and never got it. Towels were cheap ones and stinky on second day. Location is ok but full of beggars around. Staff were ok, I did not require much from them, they seemed friendly but still awaiting for the TV remote control. Room has only 1 chair and 1 clothing hanger which is not ideal for a couple, and there is no safe. There is no air conditioning in the room and the shower room gets wet outside the glass, and the room carpet is not cleaned from a night to another as there were some litter left untouched since day 1. It will obviously depend on your requirements, for me the things mentioned are reasonable. Positive point is the silence.

Had a horrible experience last night with the night staff. The receptionist named Asif has absolutely no training on courtesy. Hotels staff are meant to be trained properly. ‘The customer is always right’. How can a hotel receptionist threaten to ‘kick us out’ as he said. Disgraceful, no manners whatsoever. Plus another lady came to heighten the whole situation. My first time at an Ibis hotel and I won’t be going back anytime soon.

We were looking for a budget stay after celebrating a birthday weekend but there’s nothing budget about Ibis but the price. We booked via bookings.com and the pictures really don’t do it justice. The rooms are spacious, clean and we were so impressed by the size of the shower. What really made our stay though was Atif and Osman. They were hilarious and so accommodating, I’d come back purely just for a conversation with them. It really felt less like a cold hotel stay and more like staying in someone’s house - warm and welcoming! If you’re looking for somewhere nice that you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for I cannot recommend ibis Bordesley enough.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and 2 friends for a wedding nearby. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. The manager who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. We headed down to the bar area to wait for the arrival of my friends who were staying in another room and they were checked in by Atif who proceeded to provide excellent service for our group the whole night. He was friendly, chatty and helped with anything we needed. A truly guest-focused individual. The room was sizeable and comfy. Breakfast was excellent and really set us up for a long day at the wedding. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!

Separate charge for parking I don't remember seeing when I booked (£8). Next to McDonald's, about 15 mins from the centre of Birmingham. Not the most pleasant walk into town. Really, really pleasant staff who really knew their stuff - no delays in checking in or getting an invoice. Breakfast was nice, selection of cooked or continental. Bathroom felt exactly Ike what you get on an airplane, not the most homely but I only stayed for 1 night so it was acceptable.

Extremely rude security staff! We just asked if we can eat in the restaurant, which was obviously operating (could see it through window with people eating), but were pushed out the door in a highly rude manner even before we could ask our question. Have never experienced such a rude approach, at a premise acclaimed to be belong to the hospitality sector...

My booking was for a week, my room was perfect, tidy and clean. I especially liked the bathroom and it's pod like style. My bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever had. They came in to replace the towels and make the bed everyday. My valuables were safe left out, thank you to the trustworthy cleaning staff. The food was excellent and well priced. I had breakfast included and it was well worth it. (Note: I'd highly suggest the Hangry Burger, one of the best burgers I've ever had) Just on the outskirts of city centre it was the perfect location to suit my needs, easy pick up and drop off for Bolt and Uber as well as a bus stop incredibly close. Coming from Canada on my first trip to the UK alone, the staff made my stay remarkable. Incredibly kind, patient and knowledgeable. They helped my stay in Birmingham to be one to remember. Everytime I came back from a day out, they asked me how it was and what I got up to with genuine interest. Felt like a family more so than workers trying to make their pay and head home. Ousmond and Victoria were especially considerate and kind. Thank you to all the staff at Ibis. If I ever do return, I know exactly where I'll be staying. Ibis gained a loyal customer. -Cheers x

Two years ago I stayed there for 10 days and I obtained excellent service from the crew, I was impressed and now again I have come to Birmingham and I wanted to book a room for myself. However, I don't know what the condition was there. A crew member came outside and behaved extremely rudely, he said no rooms were available, yes it's normal that rooms can be fully booked. But he didn't even allow me to enter the reception. He shouldn't have spoken that way. I liked their services last time that's why I came there again to stay. You guys should have chosen the right employees. Thanks
