Went here for brunch with friends (17.01.22) Lovely atmosphere, good food and customer service. The menu is a bit puzzling, so much variety! But the waiter was very helpful and explained a few items to us we didn't understand. I would recommend this place and will be going back again.

Excellent food quality. Very filling, but not too heavy on the body. Service is quick and friendly. A cosy atmosphere inside with seating for small groups as well as large.

A really nice place and friendly staff too. Way it's design kind of opens up into various little corners and hidden spaces with lovely furniture and decoration. Food is great, lots of choices and decent portion sizes. Great range if pastries and cakes too. Spoilt for choice. Need to visit several times to work through menu. Oh, and great shakes too!

The flat breads were so delicious! The flavours were amazing and so so filling. I loved the busy atmosphere of the location as well. Only thing lacking was the dessert but would absolutely visit again!

Absolutely love this gorgeous restaurant! Went for best friend's wedding reception meal. The food was insanely good and I dreamt about it for a couple of nights afterwards! Lovely people, highly recommended 5 star 🙏 xxx

This is an absolute gem of an establishment. As a frequent visitor, I have never had a poor experience. The latest visit, on a rainy day, was welcomed - stepping inside out of the rain into the cafe where I was greeted by the smells of warming cinnamon and strong coffee. Bliss! The menu is extensive and the food items are absolutely delicious. Whether you are going for a brunch or a meal, there is plenty to choose from. The drinks menu is vast, and as all are so delicious it is hard to choose one item! Items on the menu are Syrian type cuisine and drinks, but they also serve items from Turkey, Lebanon, Persia, and other Middle-Eastern areas. The atmosphere is wonderful in there. The staff are friendly and welcoming and provide very good service. All food is Halal, and for non-meat eaters there are plenty of vegetarian and some vegan options available. Just be mindful you can struggle to find a table if visiting off the fly, so if going for lunch or brunch, I recommend you call and reserve a table. They also offer take-away service, their falafel are a favourite with my family. Their sweets and baklava are also delicious. Be sure to order a box to take home!

It's an excellent place for breakfast. The food was cooked to high quality. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We liked the Fuul, juz.muz, and the mixed meze. The coffee was also nice. We did not like Ijjah Omelette. It was like an omelette cake, a bit thick and stiff. They missed a part of our order until we reminded them. It can be very busy and you may have to wait for a table. Parking is on the streets nearby.

This place is a gem. I absolutely loved the food. Everything we ordered was first class and presented beautifully. The ambiance and staff make it a special place to eat and I look forward to visiting again soon .

Been there for lunch. Waited for almost 45 mins but no one bothers to take our orders. So we ask at till to place our order and person said they will come to our table to take our order so we just brought some front their counter and left that place. Indeed the place was busy and there was only one was taking all orders and payments. They need better management otherwise they will keep losing their money and customers. :(

Such amazing vibes! And the food is so good. We got the chicken shawarma and meze. They were easily the best Arab we've had. There's actually a lot of space inside and in the summer, it must be so nice! Try it! You'll love it!

Visited here for breakfast , service was good the ambiance in here is lovely, loads to choose from the falafel is a little on the dry side. Could do with water on the table when we sat down. Apart from that food was served promptly, warm and a very nice relaxed atmosphere.

Damascena in Moseley is absolutely fantastic. Service was very good. The food extremely tasty with a nice selection of desserts. Customer service was 10/10. Due to it being busy, was told there would be a 15 minutes wait for drinks and 30 minutes wait for food, but food was served in 20 minutes. A definite good choice to experience middle eastern food, alone, with a friend or a bigger gathering. Decor was on point. A must try.

Excellent as always. Birmingham is getting a good reputation for Middle Eastern food and Damascena is one of the originals. I've been coming here since it was just this Moseley outlet and I'm happy to say that the food remains consistent, plentiful and delicious. Always a pleasure to eat here.

Real shame , loved the food but the service was poor. Snotty staff, maybe there’s too much business for one place to handle. Rushed and rude.

The atmosphere, the hospitality, the food everything was perfect! I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Illyas the waiter in particular was absolutely amazing! From his friendly nature, bubble personality & delightful food recommendations! The food in itself was amazing but he was the cherry on top of the cake! Making the overall experience that much better! He deserved a raise! Thank you!

Hidden little Gem that has plenty of hidden rooms inside and an outdoor area. It felt like I was abroad. Food was nice and fresh but in tiny portions especially the pomegranate salad otherwise lovely.

Clearly a popular spot to have coffee in Moseley as it was very busy. For me, I find it means its a good place! Coffee was lovely and hot, cheesecake was delicious. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch options available. Friendly and helpful staff. Tables cleared and cleaned efficiently even during what seemed a very busy time of the day for them. Overall a great Pit-stop during long bike ride 👌🏼

I visited Damascena with one of my close friends. Our waiter was Haroon. He did an amazing job serving us efficiently and was incredibly patient with us as we were very indecisive haha. He was very smiley (eventhough its hard to see through a mask) and kind. Definitely recommend 1000%

  • 3/5 afaq e. 3 years ago on Google
Bit hit and miss with the service depending on how good the waiters are we go for lunch here and the city centre branch weekly on a Saturday, on a good day its pretty seemless get an inattentive waiter and its frustrating when your order comes out wrong or they cant do the basics in service. Last week I found a piece of plastic in the Lahm bajeen the waitress was apologetic and gave me free tea and bakhlava the food however is always fantastic

Damascena is my personal favourite Turkish coffee house. The food portions are generous and of high quality. Prices are very reasonable. The main reason I love this place though is the atmosphere, the decor and the friendly service as if nothing is too much trouble.

Great food very authentic, service little on slow side but was busy. Very reasonably priced and have many options for vegetarians. Orange juice very fresh and nice

  • 4/5 Steve H. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for tea, cakes and playing games to while away an hour or 2. Homemade hummus is wonderful, huge selection of teas and coffees and cakes, baklava, and other snacky goodness. You sometimes have to wait to be seated, but not for long. Best to book ahead if you can.... Also, Moseley village car park is opposite, and it's £1 for 2 hours on a Sunday.

This restaurant is so beautiful and nice, the staff were friendly and help us to find a seat. They provide Syrian food and hospitality. The only 2 things I didn't like about were: 1-overpriced: compared to other similar restaurant, beside, I was asked to give a tip before I get the food, which was strange, usually we tip after the service to express our gratitude of the service provided and the quality of food. 2- portion size: I never seen smaller that this in my whole life, I visited thousands of restaurant around the globe, this should take a prize for this. I though first it was sample of the food then I found out it was my whole meal 🤣. Apart from 2 major issue, the restaurant was nice experiance.

I have been to 3 different Damascena and this is the best Damascena I've been too because the staff are very welcoming and the food is amazing . Definitely my favourite place for breakfast and highly recommend it .

  • 4/5 S S. 1 year ago on Google
Went as a group of four and found the food really nice. However the only reason it is four stars is because after we were seated and had ordered, we got told to move to another area because the table we were told to sit on was reserved. Found that a little rude because we shouldn’t have been told to sit there but other then that did enjoy the place and atmosphere.

Never been before, was really surprised how I have missed this spot! The food and drinks were lovely, staff super friendly. Had to wait a few minutes to get in for brunch but it’s worth it. Will definitely be coming back again!

Damascena really fits in Moseley with it's unique design. Its much bigger inside that you expect. The food is amazing, everything tastes fresh and just overall, a really nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend if you haven't been.

A great place for lunch, we had a lot of dishes to share and it was amazing. One dish arrived 10 mins after the others but this didn't detract from the meal overall. The green tea with mint was also delicious

This restaurant gives a feel of a quite hide away when you enter its hidden eat in area at the back. The soothing smell of fresh coffee hits you when you enter and a comforting feel welcomes you when you are seated in the restaurant, further in the building. Service was amazing, food arrived in good time and was tasty. Definitely recommended for a relaxing eat out experience 👌

Had a deliveroo from this place. Not the best Lebanese and not the worse. However portions were massive. So if you are looking for the quantity rather than the quality, you can give it a try. And also, it arrived cold and it took 30min more than originally expected.

I've visited this beautiful place on the last day of Help out scheme and it was so busy. I could easily notice that and the nice staff mentioned this too. We waited in the queue for a table, then to order for food, but it was all worth it, staff where very helpful even though very busy, food was delicious, can't complain about anything. The service was spot on and I will definitely come back.

My regular Arabic food fix! During the lockdown, I have been ordering from here regularly, and they are delicious. Great shwarma, hummus, and make sure you try the walnut katiyif for dessert! Damascena also have a great supermarket in Balsall Heath, where you can buy some similar ingredients for you to make at home!

  • 1/5 Mark S. 3 years ago on Google
Simply terrible customer service. Damascena chose to partner with Deliveroo but when there's an issue with a delivery they just wash their hands of it. When the Deliveroo driver has delivered the vast majority of a customer's order to someone else the correct response is to establish what is missing and get replacements straight out. It is not to say that the customer will have to sort it out with Deliveroo and if they want replacements for the missing items they will have to reorder through Deliveroo. So thanks Damascena for leaving us hungry and out of pocket. I don't even know how much out of pocket as Deliveroo have given me several different figures (and that was after a fight to get an actual refund rather than just a Deliveroo credit - not a service I'm planning on using again in a hurry). According to the most recent message from Deliveroo the feast pictured has cost me £18.06. Damascena, if you're reading this - as we couldn't figure out how to make two small flatbreads, 4 small stuffed vine leaves and a small salad into a main meal for two people they're still in the fridge as they're no use to us. If we drop them back to you can we get a refund for whatever Deliveroo (your agents) refuse to refund?

One of the best lamb flatbread wraps I have ever had. Great drinks selection and lunch options at very reasonable priced with a bakery for you to bring home the experience to house guests. Would recommend and would definetly go again 😊

Delicious food as ever, made with fresh ingredients which i could tell straightaway apart from flat bread (but i love the shop bought arabic flat bread so dont matter) and the icing on cake is the service is excellent! Lovely lady answered the phone and took the order with such sunny personality it shone right through the phone line! As were the services when I went there before covid lockdown. We live outside delivery area otherwise i would be ordering as our weekly lockdown treat!
