Cool place with an excellent mix of cafés, bars , restaurants & pubs with the China quarter one side of the Arcadian & Gay village the other adding to this vibrant place . Good car parking ( which takes cash , card or use an app to pay ) & very handy for the Hippodrome.

It’s fine. Some food options and a few clubs which don’t seem to have a day off? We only go there to park and go into China town

It's a good place to spend the evening, with bars and pubs, restaurants (Chinese, Indian,English,Mexican,Malaysian etc)

This place is in the city cente, if I'm not wrong this comes in Chinese quarter. A lovely hangout place with multiple food both take away and time in options. Specially for people who love Asian cuisine and would like to explore more options.

Cathay used to be the old name for China... therefore it's befitting that the street running through the middle of the Chinese Quarter is called Cathay St. The Arcadian is at one of its ends. It is an iconic location that anyone visiting Birmingham, must see. I think it reflects the UK as i know and love it. All races, sexes, orientations, ages, views, etc can be seen here and it's great! I'm really glad to see everyone out and enjoying themselves. Soo many weddings, straight, gay, queer, all types... i think we're back in business!!! I hope i don't jinx it! All the best to the brides, grooms and guests... after 21 years, i can tell you, the secret is: silence! Keep quiet and you'll stay together. Not everything your partner says needs a response... ;)))

Great small independent businesses shops, however in recent years looking very empty of shops due to high rents probably, such a shame empty shops . I use the cobblers in there as he's excellent and wouldn't trust my boots to anyone else.

Lots to do, lots of places to drink and eat. It's over two levels with very steep steps. So if you have mobility issues you would need to plan ahead. I've had a great time everytime I've been.

Good place if you are looking for a restaurant and a drink .But it will get busy and not a place for a family in the late evening

Wide variety of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Located in the China quarter. Easy to access from the city centre. Good parking facilities. Reasonable prices

We had some fantastic food in this place and it's still not too expensive

We almost invariably pass through the Arcadian at some point when we visit Brum, whether it's for a full sit down lunch, a bubble tea or just a fluffy Chinese bun. Always something new, and always buzzing.

Awesome Japanese restaurant. Nice staff, great food, awesome chef. Extra points for staff being highly considerate, and asking if you've got any event you're attending in the city centre, so they'd speed up your service. They do am awesome birthday celebration surprise too. Overall, an amazing place to fine.

Haven't been to The Arcadian for quite a while. This visit was during the day and was very quiet. I didn't feel the same vibe like I previously felt.

Oh what can I say about this place. It's a bit of a dump and doesn't have much 'curb appeal'. It used to be a stylish place of drinks, but I won't be rushing to go back there anytime soon.

Visited here as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Birmingham. The second year we've been and it's a great day out. Wonderful and spectacular entertainment that you are unlikely to see out China. Even though it rained this year the show still went on.

Variety of restaurants and bars. There are plenty of Chinese groceries and bakeries. Very nice atmosphere. Parking is a bit limited.

Good area for food and drinks, plenty of places to choose from. We have been before. Since covid some of the ground floor establishments have erected outdoor shelters, although they work they do look a bit tacky. Good nightlife.

Good food and drink, some of the staff could have a friendly attitude but did not spoil our visit

Good vibrant china town, but stay away. Spoilt by the professional pick pockets and the indiference of the West Midlands Police, when given intel which if acted on could have reunited the owner with their £1,200 iPhone. Obviously law and order has low priority in Britain's second city.

Just popped into the Day In Chinese supermarket that is excellent superb range of ingredients and utensils for Chinese, Thai, Korean cookery. Staff are very helpful if you can't find what you're looking for. Wonderful Chinese bakery/cake shop 2 doors away too.

Interesting area with lots of different bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from. Huge carpark next door makes it convenient travel by car, and it's easy to find. Looks pretty decent in the daytime but this area is especially pretty at night.

Excellent little arcade. Always looks a little quiet but so many tempting smells coming from the various quaint and mostly Chinese cafes and restaurants.

Brilliant night out, gets going just after 12 but the music is good and the drinks are reasonable. Live entertainment was funny and smoking area upstairs.

Brilliant place to visit, vast array of different cuisines. Mast places also do take away if desired.

Needs more sign posts. Found myself going around in cycles looking for a venue. It was quite isolated at times and found myself alone or feeling vulnerable with people lurking in dark corners suddenly coming towards me. I feel I averted an unwanted encounter by seeking a brighter area and moving swiftly towards it, then asking a couple for directions. The other person turned and went another direction at that point. The place looked rather dead tbh. People just using it as a walk way.

We must have stumbled across the Arcadian shopping Centre while trying to find our way back from the Hippodrome to Moor Street Station. We could not get a drink anywhere

Love this place many of pubs and restaurants with a wide variety of choice, easy to locate from the city center bus terminals and prices are quite cheap, although I'm sure when there is an event going on the prices increase

Went to Weatherspoons for breakfast. Very disappointed with portion size. Would have preferred to go to a cafe. The decaf coffee from a machine didn't not taste of coffee at all. Surprisingly by the time we left it had got very busy so it's popular with the locals but not for me. Unfortunately I would not go again
