Was my first time here and went in for brunch on a weekday and it wasn't too busy. Nice location with outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating too. It has some vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. We went for the vegan breakfast and vegan brioche bap with a flat white coffee and blueberry smoothie. We waited around 25-30 minutes for the food to come out and it was average in my opinion. The bill was £33.10 which I thought is a bit pricey considering the food was sub-par. Not somewhere I would make a regular visit to for brunch.

Great cafe - lovely food and friendly staff. Our experience was almost a 5 start but there were some ingredients missing from one of our dishes that we ordered and we were told when we received the dish. Otherwise we had a lovely time and will be returning soon. :)

I've just paid £18 for ONE piece of sourdough bread with meh avocado and some goats cheese and a smoothie. WHY ON EARTH IS THAT SO EXPENSIVE. Really doesn't taste special at all. The person serving was rushing me, had no smile at all and looked miserable. Menu is incredibly boring too. Plus had to collect my own cutlery for that much money too 🤣

Urban Cafe has an extensive outdoor seating area and large floor space. It's a standout space on Warstone Lane, serving lovely coffee. This will be the place to socialise over a cuppa when restrictions are lifted. In the meantime, pray for sunshine and meet up outside.

Lovely food, lovely coffee, surprisingly decent prices for Birmingham. Service was reasonably quick for a busy Saturday afternoon, staff were really friendly. The poached eggs in particular were outstanding! Only criticism I can say is that the chairs indoors are not designed to accommodate the backside of the average person, and could do with being larger/wider.

It was a nice place to go for lunch as they have a spacious setup, that is well decorated for dine-in. However they are slightly more expensive than I would expect. The food was well made and the pastry was delicious but the staff was not so friendly.

I had the pleasure of having lunch at Urban Cafe and I must say, their food is absolutely delicious and the service is alright. However, there's one aspect that left me a bit puzzled the additional charge for oat and soya milk options. These milk alternatives are vital for individuals like myself who have dietary requirements, such as lactose intolerance. It's a bit disheartening to see an extra cost attached to something that's essentially a necessity for many. After all, it's not a choice but rather a dietary need. In a time when inclusivity and catering to diverse dietary needs are becoming more prominent, this policy seems out of touch. Despite my overall positive experience, this milk surcharge does cast a shadow. It would be wonderful if Urban Cafe could reconsider this policy, showing a more considerate and inclusive approach to their customers' needs.

Ordered the Urban breakfast, waited 30 mins for it to come, I was warned it would be that time so no complaints. Beans were cold, poached eggs massively over cooked, mushroom was under done and tough. The best thing on the plate was the sourdough toast with plenty of butter. Real shame considering the upmarket price. I know they was busy but really no where near good enough

Both my support worker and I especially enjoy the hot chocolate from here. I personally love the selection of cakes. The staff are friendly and helpful - even helping me get a top off a bottle of apple juice when it was stuck fast. They also don't question my idiosyncrasies.

Decent place but their loaded fries are awful. They're essentially children's breaded chicken dippers on top of the world's saltiest fries.

Great place to visit, whether it's just for a coffee or for meal. We had both. Coffee with a pastry and some brunch. Great food. Quality ingredients and tasty. Good atmosphere with a nice interior decor. Friendly service. Can be a delay on food at the busiest times. We had the urban breakfast and eggs benedict.

Lovely friendly vibe. Fantastic cakes and they were super helpful in replacing a drink as we forgot to ask for oat milk! Thank you! 😊👍

All you can expect from the typical café bar with a better coffee selection than your typical Starbucks/Nero/Costa. The food was decent enough for a quick bite in the morning. I ordered a V60 filtered coffee, which was great—definitely, a place to grab a coffee when around.

We had an experience that started not too great, but got better thanks to the lovely staff. It was full when we arrived, and it was hard to find a table. After sitting down we did have to wait for our table to be cleaned and ended up clearing it ourselves so we could sit, but it was sticky still, so we asked for a wipe. That's when we realised that staff was having an issue with the coffee grinder and struggling. We got a free brownie later to make up for the wait, which was a very nice detail that we're thankful for. The food itself was lovely and arrived very swiftly. Great bread and coffee!

Delicious breakfast and coffee with lots on the plate. Located in a nice central part of the jewellery quarter, and easy to get to from the tram station as well.

Stopped here for a quick lunch - we got the soup of the day which was butternut squash and carrot (£5.95). The soup was really tasty and came with a lovely big slice of crusty bread. However we waited for over 30 minutes for this. The menu looks good but on the pricier side - slices of cake for £4.20 each is quite a bit.

The last full week of #eatouttohelpout is here. A good time to try new independents and eateries 😊 Starting off the morning with some breakfast, I popped to this local cafe only a short walk away from me as drove past it for a while but never been in. Urban has 3 venues but this is the closest to me. Inside it has a very hip look to it with wooden tables and modest lighting inside which weren't too bright. I was greeted straight away by the member of staff. There is a one entrance in and exit system in place and tables were placed with the appropriate distancing measures in place. Today I've ordered a classic full English breakfast to get me started for the day with some tea as I'm not a coffee drinker. The difference with this is that it comes with sourdough toast, cherry tomatoes and sliced mushrooms with thyme; a minor twist to the norm. It came quickly. The presentation of this was gorgeous and definitely had a quirky twist to it. It tasted great and everything was cooked to how I would like it. This cost £5.87 after the government discount. I would definitely visit here again.

Friendly but it seems the line doesn’t mean you are next. Which is a little annoying when you wait patiently. Coffee is as always. Very nice.

Decent atmosphere with nice tunes, good coffee, tasty food. However, prepackaged smoothies for £4.25 and this tough piece of sourdough with an avocado spread and two pieces of halloumi costing £11 means I won’t be rushing back.

We popped in here just on the off chance and we are glad we did. The service from Michael & Chloe was fast and efficient and the breakfast was out of this world😊. Everything was cooked to perfection, and I haven't had eggs like that before, sadly I was too busy eating to take a picture, but when I asked why the vibrant colour of the eggs I was informed the hens are fed termaric, and also these eggs are only sold in waitrose. I would recommend anyone in the Birmingham area to pop and try the food if they want something a little bit special and different.

It's very delicious everything. Good coffee, good food and good desserts. Full recommended, it was very full when we were there.
