This review is based on our lunch experience! We were the early birds and one of the first customers when it opened. Our service was prompt and courteous. The sweet and spicy calamari arrived swiftly and tasted really good. Rest of our food was great as well. Although shrimp tacos could have carried a bit more flavor and were leaning towards bland. Decor and seating makes it a great place for dinner I am guessing with big bar taking central location, also fuzzy bubbles is a must try! Earns top marks in presentation.

The inside of 220 Merrill is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Very picture worthy. The prices are on the high end. But the experience is great. The drinks are very pretty. I had the Short ribs and it was delicious and tender. The truffle fries were very tasty with the special made sauce (definitely a shareable appetizer). I went for dinner. I plan to go back for brunch and lunch. The menus are totally different. I love that they offer Valet.

Excellent ambiance and welcoming staff. The cuisine was excellent; we had steaks, pizza, and mac & cheese. The desserts are the most incredible thing; you must eat them, not for the flavor but for the quantity. Even if you can't finish them, you will still take fantastic images with them if you enjoy sharing them on social media. The restaurant's all-halal steak selection is it's finest feature. This is one of the top fine dining experience in the metro Detroit area!

Of course, you have to visit The most popular restaurant in Birmingham! The hostess and manager were the most accommodating, even though we showed up w/o reservations..( we really wanted to get here, but booked the wrong restaurant) The menu is full of options: from pizza to the most exquisite steaks for $200+ w optional lobster tails as and on. The drinks and desserts are jaw dropping. My favorite was appetizer w fresh mouthwatering mozzarella. But then came disappointment. The waiter removed appetizers instead of dirty dishes, while I was busy making pictures. The steak was medium instead of medium rare . He tried to to convince me that it’s medium rare, then w quite hesitation suggested replacement. Anyhow, I was disappointed w feeling being rushed. It’s not a fast food place. It’s a prime location and I wanted to enjoy it w my family. PS Plastic chairs on the patio give a cheap vibe to a fancy restaurant.

If you’re looking for top ten best Truffle Fries in Michigan ~ 220 Merrill is near the top of the list! They are definitely a must have. They have such a beautiful restaurant with a social ambiance. Their brunch was amazing. Highly recommend giving them a try!

First time here and definitely coming back. I got the fruity pebbles french toast to share and truffle fries. Both were good! Fuzzy bubbles cocktail for brunch was also a good suggestion by the waitress. Reasonable prices, good location, great service and food!

The atmosphere is always a chic vibe. Especially in warmer months with the patio open. I had the Caesar salad, chicken wings and a 220 Merril Spritzer. The salad and Spritzer was quite tasty. The chicken was on the dry side and the fries came out cold. Our waiter was sooooo kind, attentive and patient.

The place is really cute!!! A bit confused with the decor but still really cute. We ordered the pear salad (so good def recommend) and the burger with truffle fries and the linguine pasta

We had brunch here and would absolutely recommend it .Do try the Butternut squash shells ( it’s one of their speciality) - it’s the perfect comfort food you need! Only complaint was that the menu had very limited vegetarian and vegan options.

Loved this place in Birmingham , so big from the inside. Beautiful lounge and bar. They have a dedicated area for small birthday parties. We were 4 ppl and an infant. My husband tried the fillet and it was really good. I went with the kocher (Halal) chicken hamburger ( came not very well done , I was still feeling the raw chicken and when I called the waiter he took the burger itself and fixed it ) they should have brought another one .. that’s what usually other restaurants do ( they are not supposed to touch my food) I couldn’t eat it anymore but ordered a salad that came so good. Overall food and place are good .

I stopped here based on a suggestion and it was excellent. Sat at the bar and got to chat with the bartenders while it was slow. Had a very well balanced drink as well as a wonderful salad from the Happy Hour menu. Had the 220 burger which was cooked exactly to medium, had an excellent sauce on it with truffle fries on the side. A great place that was also lively without being too loud. Sitting at the bar is great as your food comes quick and your drinks are made in front of you. I look forward to visiting Birmingham again and will definitely dine and grab a drink at 220.

Fuzzy Bubbles was by far the best cocktail I’ve had from an establishment in a long while. The Caesar salad was delicious as well. Upscale and chic environment. 5 out of 5 stars recommended for your next brunch date.

I enjoyed my time at 220 for my birthday brunch. Everything we ordered was amazing. The patio is congested and there were annoying nets around. I think they over watered the plants. Some candles to keep the bugs away would be great. Our server was amazing. We wanted to add mushrooms to the omelet and were told no the kitchen was too busy. So that was disappointing. Everyone left full and satisfied. My friend and I shared the omelet and lobster rolls. I would go back for sure. Maybe I would try eating inside or a table that wasn't by the plants and like it better. Because of the bugs and not being able to add mushrooms I took away a star.

Presentation is solid here. Great attention to detail. Seating is rather crowded. Dislikes were large seafood platter oysters which were pretty disappointing and grainy. Our server also forgot one of our dishes. Positives are the Steak which was well cooked and well flavored and not overly salty like some other higher end restaurants I’ve been to. Truffle flatbread and fries was also very delicious.

Perfect date night spot with fresh vibe and delicious food/drinks. I started with "the gin and tonic", sooo good. Appetizer was the truffle fries, pretty yum. But the pomegranate salmon and billionaire rice was the best I've had (and I've had a lot of salmon). Rice was extra side but so worth it! No room for dessert. Made reservations. Parking was easy on a Monday in October (options in parking garage or street) but heard in summer can be tricky.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for some time now. I only had takeout in the past. I celebrated my birthday here for brunch. It’s nice in the inside. I had a party of five. We received good service. I enjoyed my breakfast I ate everything but the bread it was a little hard. The fuzzy bubbles drink was good. I’ll have to come for their dinner.

10/10 dining experience! Everything about 220 Merrill was great. Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and tasted delicious. Every bite tasted fresh, flavorful, and all around amazing! The drinks were also great. On top of all of this, the service!! The service here is absolutely incredible. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. I would absolutely recommend stopping by for either a nice night out or a date night. Hope to return soon!

A must try dine in experience, so chique and elegant. The new appetizer Peking Duck Spring Rolls are really good, everything in this photo are too good to pass on! Richard, Teresa and George are really great and amazing people! Thank you for having us! We will surely be back!

The ambiance of this restaurant is gorgeous inside-out. The service was adequate. My friend and I ordered the Mac and cheese, truffle fries, pizza, and lobster rolls to share, everything was flavorsome! The cocktails are resplendent and delectable. Pricey but we enjoyed our time here.

Love the brunch here. Restaurant is beautiful inside and a great spot for date nights or girls breakfast. We had ordered the eggs Benedict, tacos, oysters and the bananas foster pancakes. All so delicious.

Best Experience Ever! Brandin Fire our waiter was amazing. From the personality to the fly uniform we were so impressed. He mad us feel comfortable from the beginning. Now for the food AMAZING!! WE WILL CONTINUE TO VISIT, HOST FUTURE EVENTS AND MORE. YES WE WILL ASK FOR BRANDIN.

Aron(are server) was attentive, knowledgeable, and had awesome manners w/a patient friendly personality. The pleasurable chill atmosphere was a mixture of not only the patrons and staff but also the people hanging out on the streets of Birmingham. And the food and drinks was the was the bonus adding to the awesome vibes 220 Merrill have to offer.

Ok, so without question, 220 Merrill was a very sweet treat!!! I was completely surprised when the hubby told me to “get dressed, we have a reservation at 1:15”. Suspecting nothing (as I positively HATE surprises), I did as I was told and arrived to a dining experience that was nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!! From the hostess who greeted us at the door to the sweetheart who served us (Tamera☺️💯), I was absolutely delighted with everything. The ambiance, the smooth music, the beautiful decor, the food (the honey Chile wings… we both got tacos, he shrimp, me tenderloins). Thank you to the amazing staff and personnel. This was truly an experience that will rest with me for some time. Can’t wait for my next reservation. FYI, the wet hand towels was the classiest thing ever!!!

This is one of the restaurants I have on my birthday weekend list for this year. ☺️ The food was great, appetizers are very good. The environment is chic and casual. The most amazing thing are the dessert’s, you have to try that, not for the flavor but for the size. If you love posting great pictures on social media, you will be taking great ones with those amazing sweets, even if you can’t finished them. 😆 I will definitely be back and try the bar downstairs.
