Fantastic
option
for
Cuban
cuisine
in
Birmingham.
After
trying
to
make
it
here
several
weekend-starts
in
a
row,
I
was
finally
able
to
give
it
a
go,
and
was
not
disappointed
at
all.
My
selected
dishes
included
mofongo
(pork),
an
empanada,
and
rice
&
black
beans,
and
everything
was
delicious
(with
the
exception
(sadly)
of
the
empanada,
which
tasted
a
bit
off
-
almost
like
the
pastry
wasn't
fresh
or
was
frozen).
Considering
the
taste
of
the
rest
of
the
meal
though,
I'd
hope
the
latter
was
just
an
anomaly
and
not
a
norm.
The
restaurant
is
on
the
smaller
side
and
is
located
in
the
heart
of
downtown,
so
considering
that
with
regards
to
Friday
night
dinner
crowd
expectations,
it
wasn't
very
busy;
probably
a
reflection
of
the
location
moreso
than
popularity
though.
All
in
all,
I
enjoyed
trying
it
out
for
the
first
time,
and
am
looking
forward
to
heading
back
here
to
try
some
additional
new
flavors
and
dishes.
