"Tasty, Friendly, Welcoming, and Professional!" An absolute pleasure having lunch today with daughter and friend. The moment we walked in the door and our hostess Stephanie greeted us, we could feel a friendly and positive atmosphere amongst all the staff. Carvery Chef was friendly and very chatty, a very nice man who served meat that practically melted in your mouth. The veg selection was all fresh and tasty, the roast potatoes in beef dripping were a stand out from the selection. Draft beer was lively and tasty and my daughter absolutely loved the cookie dough sundae. While we finishing up eating we overheard, and watched a situation unfold. The 3 women who were sat at the table close to us displayed behaviour that was arrogant and to be frank, downright rude in their attitude towards the waitresses that where serving them. The team showed great patience and an extremely high level of professionalism, far exceeding that which I would have displayed myself or expected my staff to given the situation. I was very impressed with how waitresses handled the situation. All in all a great place to eat, with a friendly atmosphere, we have been lucky enough to visit various eateries around the world with work and play travels, Sheldon Carvery is up there with the best of them at this price point. Great work, we will return, Thank You!

We stayed at the travelodge attached to the carvery. We had an evening meal and breakfast . At dinner, our waitress Nova was absolutely brilliant. So friendly and welcoming. She is a credit to the place. The chef serving at the carvery was quite pleasant. Again, at breakfast, very nice staff, on hand to assist. Food was fine. Typical carvery. Chocolate brownie dessert was delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Fancied a roast dinner so went to the obvious place. Toby carvery. My server Kylie was very helpful and pleasant. Did her job without being pushy like staff in some places. The meat was perfect, the beef melting in my mouth. The veg looked nice but I don't eat cooked veg so didn't try it. Only had roasties and stuffing with loads of gravy. Wish there had been crackling with the pork but meat was lovely anyway. Can't wait to go back

I had the best Toby meal ever and the service was exceptional. I was served by a delightful young lady named Nola. She is an absolute credit to your establishment and such a happy lady. She was very busy, but took the time to smile and chat with everyone. I will definitely be returning when in the area. Make sure you don't lose Nola to any competitors. Thank you.

Great carvery, and pudding. Very reasonably priced too. It was busy but queues seemed to move quickly, we got there early (17:20) so beat any queues.

Had a brilliant meal here on Nov 12th, we're a jokey bunch and our waitress Samantha was extremely friendly and funny, made our visit extra special. The food was some of the best we've ever had! Brilliant experience and we can't wait to come back 😀

Unfortunately I couldn't attend the planned meal, as myself and another visitor came down with COVID. Plus 2 others pulled out till I'm better to visit. But after talking to the 6 who turned up they enjoyed there meals. I was very disappointed indeed I couldn't make it.

Tasty and cheap food. We had carvery. I like the fact that you make your own plate, get as much as you like what you like. Service was really good. Abi made us feel welcomed, very chatty and friendly but also informative and quick in taking order, serving the drinks, bringing our bill. Great.

Ate here on a Saturday afternoon as part of a table of 14. We hadn't booked but there was plenty of space and staff immediately found us a few tables together. The food was beautiful, best beef I have ever had. Staff were attentive and friendly. Special thanks to Liz, who was hilarious and made everyone feel so welcome. I don't know where she gets her energy from 😀

8 of us meet here on a regular basis and never had a problem. That is until tonight. One of our gang is vegetarian and doesn't eat vegetables, not usually a problem because she can order from the menu. However on attempting to order she was advised that it was carvery only. She asked if there was make and cheese on the carvery. Only to be told when she went up there was no mac and cheese. Only that we had committed to our getting our carvery we would have left.

Came here to meet up with friends and had a great time. Claire couldn't do enough for us. Especially my son who has allergies. The food was great and we all left with huge smiles on our faces. Definitely will be coming back!

We had a girly meal here. The staff were nice ,friendly and accomodating. But unfortunately some of the food tasted burnt and I had to stand for a good while waiting to be served at the carvery. I understand the servers do have to go into the kitchen but they don't come to check if anyone is waiting so you either wait ages or have to shout for someone. The place is lovely and the staff great though.

Been here today Sunday 14th may . Tilly was our waitress. She was very accommodating and friendly . Easily approachable and well mannered, my son who is 8 years old commented that this was the friendliest restaurant he has ever been too. The carvery was delicious and overall we have had a very pleasant experience.

Grace and Harvey are wonderful; Grace is always running around with a smile on her face and making sure everyone is happy. Harvey was working so hard, and still managed to keep his cool and stay professional when the queue was big and was getting grief from someone. Food was delicious as always ☺️✨

Fast service, friendly and polite staff, good selection at the Carvery section including 4 choices of meats and a good array of veg including roast parsnips? Red cabbage, sprouts, cauliflower, peas, carrots, roast and mashed potatoes. Good gravy. Only two criticisms: the food was not hot enough and no small portions were offered for people with smaller appetites.

The food was excellent, the best carvery food I have had in a long time. The atmosphere was nice and friendly. Great place to take your family and friends. My colleagues and I all said we would eat there again.

First time at the Toby Sheldon for a carvery lunch and certainly will not be the last , the refurbishment has given it a relaxed atmosphere, there is no rush to eat and run as there are plenty of eating area zones and ,a large bar/ lounge area for pre and post drinks. The staff are welcoming and very pleasant, the food itself was excellent a selection tion of five different meats and a help yourself section of all different vegetables all well cooked and hot.We didn't have dessert as the mains was enough for us. The carvery was competitively priced with other places as well, most definitely will be going again soon.

I had missing items from a just eat order which I understand sometimes happens. I called the restaurant and the lady did everything she could to make sure I was happy adding on extra food and drink. Great customer service 😊

Happened to be seated in what I assume to be one of the hottest areas/tables in the place. I think it was because of the heat coming from the food serving area coming across our way! This was unbearable, I was literally dripping sweat! 😓 Volume of traffic going past our table was very frequent and intense too, to add to the discomfort. Me and my family struggled to eat our food because of all of this. I did request to be moved, but was declined, to be told it was not possible due to other bookings, although there were quite a good few empty tables, which remained empty throughout our visit. This added to our frustration. We were also told that the AC unit wasn't working and hadn't been for months and the windows in there are not the type you can open 🥵🥵🥵. I think maybe things wouldn't have been so bad if we were granted a table move. On this occasion, my one and only time here, sadly we did not enjoy our experience here. We probably won't have a return visit here.

Had the carvery on Saturday, plenty of choice and lots of it. Had a chat with the shift chef, nice guy. Waitresses very pleasant and efficient. Didn't ask the price before we ate,so when the bill arrived we were surprised it was not expensive. All in all a good night. The decor could do with an update, but that didn't put us off having a good night.

Overall good. We went when there was a shortage of different things because of the pingdemic. There was still a great selection. The staff were amazing, they made us welcome and were very friendly.

One of the better Toby's in this side of Birmingham. We have used this Carvery for over 30 years now and have always had a decent meal. Recently we came here after a funeral and they really looked after us, hence the 5 stars. Thank you so much.

Great carvery, choice of four meats, all the trimmings. Nicely chilled lagers to accompany the meal and of course a pink gin and lemonade with strawberries for my beautiful wife, busy as expected for a Sunday. We only waited 5 mins for a table and we hadn't booked either so very satisfied and would strongly recommend for a nice lazy Sunday afternoon.

Excellent carvery yesterday evening 29th Sept 2022. The beef was so tender and the turkey full of flavour. Lots of variety veg, fresh and delicious. Cannot fault it. Highly recommend!

if you're a famished traveller who spent the night hungry, you should most definitely check out this carvery and their awesome value breakfast option. all you can eat for less than 6 pounds? yes please. just make sure you get here before 10am otherwise the buffet might be not as complete.

Very poor breakfast bacon like cardboard looked as though they could not be bothered to part it out of pack as each slice was over lapping each other so would not part properly .Had to wait for eggs to be cooked .think it was manageress went in kitchen and asked were eggs was. As for everything else it was swimming in oil . found this place hit and miss ..Toby Robinhood better cooked food friendlier kitchen staff

Went for a self service breakfast wasn't nice at all, bacon was rock hard, hash browns tasted foul, sausages were ok, the best part was the mushrooms oh and no fried egg. Disappointed as was really looking forward to my breakfast as I've heard good things about this place.

Picked up a takeaway carvery on Sunday evening for four people. It was excellent. We all enjoyed it and there was enough meat left for our dogs dinner.

Very good customer service from extremely polite staff. The buffet style breakfast was as you’d expect - well cooked and tasty. The only problem was some eyes were bigger than bellies, which meant food left on plates. This in no way determined the quality of tue food. Well done Toby Carvery @ Sheldon.

Four of us went today for a carvery and must admit we were disappointed. There was no turkey which I would usually have only pork, beef and gammon. We opted for pork and beef but the beef was pure fat and we couldn't eat it. The pork was nice though. The cabbage looked as though it hadn't been cooked at all but the other veggies looked okay. My only gripe with the veggies is they didn't appear to have been cooked in any salt. I usually love the Yorkshire puddings and have my daughter's too but these had a very strange taste and was flat and greasy so I left most of them. There were three gravy options but none were labelled so I don't know what type I had. The drinks order didn't come out correctly but it was rectified. I have had better carveries.

The usual excellent carvery, I had the turkey. Very nice indeed and served by Tilly rose who was very helpful and smily. Then had the ice cream 🍦 with strawberry sauce, love a pud. It was all very nice, thank you very much.

Thought take kids for Sunday dinner after a long early morning shift at work. Food was average, could do with some more variety of veggies like brocoli, normal cabbage cauliflower etc would be good. Confusions with our desserts. Bill was bit messed being over charged on the carvery. Over all waitress was nice and manager easily sorted my little problems. It was a very busy Sunday though.

Pork and beef were delicious. Wide variety of vegetables. Roast potatoes were absolutely AMAZING!! Only negative - there was no mashed potato on the day I was there. Staff were friendly and accommodating
