I've had coffee at various locations in and around Birmingham. Today I tried a Latte from The Borrow Shop and it was quite simply one of the best!! Never tried Oat milk before and the Oat and Raisin cookie was a beautiful accompaniment. Would so recommend 👌

Why only vegan? Service is very friendly, pastries are very good, why can't they offer dairy milk as an option as vegan is offered almost everywhere? the oat and soy milk destroys the taste of the coffee

Wonderful coffee shop! The coffee is absolutely delicious, staff is always nice and friendly, pastries selection is great (although quite often sold out haha). Hands down this is the best coffee place in Birmingham.

Came recommended by my hairdresser at Spring. Cute little vegan coffee shop with space in and outside. Lovely coffee and gorgeous pastries/cookies! Nice books, music and atmosphere. They also sell independent artwork and eco friendly misc items to browse. Fab customer service too. Highly recommend!

The Borrow Shop is an excellent and community-mindful business. It is an incredibly sustainable concept and functions effortlessly so. Alongside the core business being a library of things, allowing you to rent really useful products (like a ladder, or heavy duty vacuum cleaner), the store offers delicious bakes, amazingly prepared coffee and some really nice products (that are also reusable in nature!). All of this, coupled with the Jewellery Quarter’s most friendly (and smiley) business owner and barista, makes the Borrow Shop the best place to stop by for a library of things in itself with a really friendly atmosphere and a good place to sit in and relax. 10/10 would recommend. My go-to order = a coconut flat white and one of the doughnuts (of which there is a delicious variety!)

Great place. The only place to get coffee from in the Jewellery Quarter. I'm not Vegan, but the vegan sausage roll is the best sausage roll I've had. Cool gifts to purchase too. The vibe is so nice, the yellow doors are a nice touch too.

My favourite spot in Birmingham. They have the Best coffee (Oat latte and chai latte my go to drink) but I’m always down for Sophie’s recommendations! Vegan pastries and cookies are the best. Lovely people and great atmosphere

After many years and many coffee shops, my favourite place for caffeination in Brum. It's vegan, but not "in your face" vegan; many customers only realise when asked if they want oat or coconut milk. It's also the place where I finally kicked the "cow milk" habit - if you saw what is injected into UK cows and eventually ends up in the bloodstream of cow milk drinkers, you'd probably consider it too - and moved to non-dairy options. Off the coffee menu, the oatmilk latte is pretty close to cow milk latte (and I think it tastes better). The cookies are, in a way, mis-labelled as these are not your average cookies, but substantial baked products - personal favourite is the Bakewell tart cookie. And the linseed cherry crown also views for my calorific attention. The staff are all cheerfully pleasant, as are the regulars, in this tiny Scandinavian-esque place close to the Bloc and Hilton hotels. Look for the yellow doors.

The best sausage roll I've EVER had, vegan or not. So good. The chocolate cornflake cake was also delicious. This place has single handedly put Birmingham on my radar.

The vegan coffee was amazing as this was the first time I've tried latte made with oat milk. Absolutely tasty and you would taste a real coffee made by a professional Barista! Must try!

Really pleasant atmosphere and staff, great coffee (espresso based only). Appeared to be one of the few good coffee shops in Birmingham for those looking for well crafted coffee using quality beans.

The place is nice. That being said… it’s not amazing. It’s small, doesn’t have a lot of options and I wouldn’t call it comfortable. If you are thinking of borrowing something, keep in mind you have to pay a pricey membership which will probably not be worth it for the limited amount of stuff they have. I’m adding a star because it’s cool to have vegan pastries.

One of the nicest places to visit when you're on the JQ! The people who work here are always super friendly, the coffee has a great flavour to it and if you do love nearby, the ability to borrow items you might not have space for at home is novel! A must visit!

Wholeheartedly the best coffee and cake shop in Birmingham. A wonderful gem of a shop in heart of the Jewellery Quarter. No pun intended. Superb service from the owner and just inspiring to see the owners passion for coffee making. I cannot wait to come back. Vegan donuts/cookie sent our taste buds into the stratosphere. Coffee was so earthy and just set the right vibe for the day. Thankyou so much and see you soon.

Hygge vibed cafe nestled in the JQ. Friendly service, outdoor seating perfect for a sunny autumn's day. Range of organic and ethical products. If you go here do try the doughnuts! Will be exciting to see if there's a rotation of coffee beans going ahead as it's quite new still. Will definitely be coming back 😊☕

Best coffee in Brum, hands down. A small and cosy space, they serve the best coffee and vegan treats I’ve tasted in Birmingham. Even if you’re usually a meat-eater, the vegan sausage rolls are a taste sensation. They stock incredibly tasty cookies and doughnuts, and they also have lots of coffee and home accessories on sale, plus a book swap shelf, which is a nice touch. Also very handy if you need to borrow something for a short period of time. Blow up bed? Sorted. Carpet cleaner? They’ve got one. A library of things to borrow and whilst you’re there, treat yourself to the tastiest coffee and treats.

My favourite place in the Jewellery Quarter! Not only do they do the best coffee, have the most incredible cookies (the Biscoff one is definitely my fav) and a great range of homeware and small gifts but they also have a library of things which lets you borrow all those items you only ever need a few times a year and don't want to buy/store at home!! It's also all served to you by the most incredible and loveliest host Sophie - what more could you want?! p.s love my tote bag

popped in here for a hot chocolate before my haircut. i'm lactose intolerant and am delighted to know that there's a cafe walking distance from me that guarantees that there won't be a mixup that will end in me being ill from dairy consumption!

Visited the Borrow Shop today for a quick coffee. First time having a flat white with oat milk as they only offer alternative milks but I really enjoyed it! Will definitely visit again

The shop owner is really nice and the shop itself has really chill vibes. I borrowed a carpet cleaner and it worked perfectly and was no hassle at all to borrow. The cookies in there look delicious and they've got a good range of vegan drinks, but I didn't stop for any this time. Also a good place to visit if you're gift shopping for someone who prefers ethical products and cute art!
