This former military training house, is now a museum, displaying different cultural things, clothing, sculptures, paintings, piano's and a special Atatürk room. This famous Turkish President had his military education here, which is why lots of Turkish tourist also visit this place. Very recognizable as there are a few canons and even a RP tank, all from the last war, parked left outside the building.

One of the most beatiful historical buildings in Manastir. It is also where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Turkish Republic, studied in high school. There is seperate exhibition regarding him. In other parts you can see many valuable paintings and other stuff about the history of Manastir (Bitola). Must visit place.

Built as a military high school (Idadie) in 1848 when the city of Bitola (Monastir) was military, administrative, political and commercial center of European Turkey. This was the military school Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and the first president of Turkey, attended. It's a must-see place.

Really nice museum, entrance is just 120 MKD, 2 Euros. Is way bigger than it looks, you have several different expositions and I recommend at least 1h to see everything quickly.

Really poorly maintained. No lighting in several places. The bathrooms are not well maintained either and are dirty. The museum really needs a thorough cleaning and maintenance. Maybe Macedonia should decide on investing in -and maintaining what history and artefacts it already has, instead of have invested millions into fake statues. What a shame.

The military school that is a living witness of history and raised the greatest genius of our century. One of those who studied here was Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1896-1898). There is a section reserved for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the second floor of the building. At the same time, Resneli Niyazi Bey, one of the leading figures of the Committee of Union and Progress, also studied here. Resneli Niyazi Bey, II. He is one of the leaders of the uprising that made Abdulhamit declare the Constitutional Monarchy and also one of the important figures of the Republic, who was in the Action Army that suppressed the March 31 Rebellion that broke out in Istanbul. The classroom where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk studied and the places where he spent his student life were restored and turned into a museum. Today, Monastir Military Preparatory School meets the officer needs of the Macedonian Air Force and is a military high school that forms the source of the Kumanovo Air Force Academy.

Main visitors are from Turkey, because of Ataturk. The museum is mixed with heritages of different period but is not managed well. The entrance fee is 120denars (2€). If there is not Ataturk this museum probably may become a ruined building.

The museum is excellent. There are items from a few mileniums ago to present. All history event are well represented as Ilinden uprising, 1st and 2nd World War etc. The visitors can understand and feel the Macedonian tradition and history and a lot for Bitola. I highly recommend visit to NI institute and Museum Bitola

Some of the interesting things you get to see in this museum is a love letter written from a local girl from Bitola to Kemal Atatürk and the controversial Bitola Inscription, as it is considered as an evidence that the ruler of Bitola was Bulgarian, standing in contrast to the country's claim that of being purely Macedonian.

I had a great time and learnt a lot about the history of Bitola. There is also a section of contemporary art, religious art and a memorial for former president Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. I recommend it to people interested in Macedonian and turkish art & history.

Museum is huge, but no one takes care of it, only 1 guy who can not look for the safety of items. Anyone can steal anything without getting charged.

Monastir Military Preparatory School, where the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk studied. It is now used as one of the museums of the city of Bitola. There is a section prepared for Atatürk on the first floor of the building. On the other side, images and old items from the history of Macedonia are exhibited. Entrance fee is 80 mkd per person.

Ok, ok, it is a city museum but it is veey well organized with explanations in engliah. And some of the preservation work? Amazing, I have never seen a display before where they included a "bedore restoration" photo. Listen, irs a city museum, it will not blow your mind but it is wxcellently run

Popular stop for Turkish tourists, but this museum has more than just Ataturk memorabilia. It has various artifacts from different periods throughout the long history of Bitola. One hour is enough time to complete a tour of all the displays.

The great leader Ataturk studied here three years from 1896 to 1899. He graduated with success. A girl was in love with him.

We were taken round by a guide on an excursion. The museum has plenty of interesting bits and bobs but, and as the lady confirmed is desperately lacking in funds they have so much more to show but no money to display or renovate.

I am pleased to visit this museum which was the military high school that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, had graduated in 1898 at the age of 17 in Manastır (Bitola).

Its good but it could be alot better. Not just Kemal Ataturk part of the museum. All of the museum can be alot better. Anyway we liked it being there as a family.

👍👍 Manastır is a perfect city. And the clock tower is the place that symbolizes the city. The parc is great to rest in city center and there are a lot of parking areas around the parc. First 15 minutes is free. If you are coming to Ohrid for a visit, please do not skip Manastir (Bitola) and you won’t b...

👍 Fabolous Greek (then Roman pre-Christian, Roman Christian, Byzantine) city this was! The remains are impressive, with public buildings like theater and basilica but particularly the mosaics. The mosaics are kept in the sun, though, not sure of that's good for their conservation. The museum was close...

😠 The worst zoo I have ever seen. An example of animal abuse. They live in terrible conditions without access to water or food. Horses have parasites, wolf has no fur, bear has to eat grass out of his cage not to starve, monkeys even ate their own feces and drink their own urine. This place is a shame...

👍👍 Awesome treasure from Otoman period in Bitola. This mosque is the biggest in town and on the other side of the street is located the old Ottoman Bazaar "Bezisten".
