I wish this campground took reservations. We biked thru on the bike trail. Nice spaces, clean & quiet. And the shower house on the bridge was neat!

Great park!!! Lots to do!!! Right on the river for great fishing!! Great shooting range! Camping and playgrounds! Always clean when I go there!! There is a smaller pond by the river before the big parking lot that is great for catching panfish and even small pike (so great for kids) LOTS of turtles so please watch where you drive, unfortunately I went through the other day and saw someone run over a turtle because they were speeding. Please DO NOT SPEED IN HERE!!! THERE ARE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS TO WATCH FOR!!! PLEASE respect wildlife to maintain healthy ecosystems for both your favorite recreational activities, but also so the park stays healthy. Animals were there first. Yes I fish, and I used to hunt (just can't afford it anymore nor the time since moving here) but without these animals our ecosystems will crash and our food animals will die out. Just be respectful.

The park itself is large with lots of space, quite roads, river access and a large gun/bow range. I go for the Fire Trail which is a three miles long trail (6 miles out and back). The trail is often under water in a few spots and only mowed a few times a year, but if your up for the hike it's very quiet and peaceful.

Easy check in, first come first serve pick a site drop an envelope in a box. The first time we have seen mud on this trip. Don't get off of the stones when parking it gets real soft real fast, stayed in a fifth wheel with pets. We would stay there again...

This old park has it all. Cedar Valley Nature Trail runs through the park, and the paved trail can be followed to other parks and even other counties in this area of Iowa. This is a very nice park with lots of trees and grassy areas. Many of the newer camping areas in Black Hawk County were built by bulldozing everything. There are really nice, shady camping areas here, for everything from primitive tent camping, to full hookup motor homes. There are also playground areas for kids and basketball hoops. There are modern showers and flush toilets, wood for campfires, a pond in the center, boat access to the Cedar River, picnic shelters, and bow and firearm target range.

Full hook ups, tons of shade, and 120/30/50 amp hookups all over. Shutdown the road the gun and bow and arrow ranges are well kept, and there is also a very nice ramp for launching yaks and boats with lots of parking .

Great park for whatever cooking or family outing you have planned. It's first come first serve, but I always find a spot to cook or shoot my pistol- and the range is free with 1$ targets at the entrance to the park.

This has always been a great park. I lived in this area for fifty plus years. I wish they Took better care of their gun range. A disc golf course would be nice too.😀😀

You can do camping, boating fishing, shooting (of wide ranges). We even flew kites here on a sunny day. With toilets etc. Beautiful place.

Park Resources do well with dealing with their campers, while keeping the place pretty picked up for others to enjoy at their stay.

Great rustic campsites available along the Cedar River, trees and fields. Electric and full hookups available in field type setting. Flush toilets available. Poor shower facilities. Fantastic connection to dedicated paved bike trails to downtown Cedar Falls, connecting to great trails in George Wyth trails. Under used trails.
