First time came here with family and we had an amazing time and the service was just spot on credit to Asif who was just an incredible host. He went out his way to look after us. I will definitely be coming here again and the food was absolutely amazing too could not fault a single thing. It was really busy and to have the level of great service we had when it was jam packed along with tasty yummy l food what more do you want. Can’t wait to come here again.

Nice looking restaurant. Ample parking space and the food isn't too bad. The Lamb Chops were not the best as they toughest I've ever had and I wouldn't be surprised if it was mutton and not lamb. The curry wasn't the tastiest compared to other popular places but nonetheless it was good enough. Service wise it's hard to find anyone when you need them, in fact I had to go looking for someone when I wanted to order additional things. My worst experience was when I ordered a takeaway to take home with us when we finish and to our surprise the waiter came up with the takeaway food and the bill too without checking if we wanted any desserts or tea/cofgee. As a result of that we decided not to stay for desserts. Visited with family and overall everyone enjoyed it. They need to sort out the service side before I can give 5 stars. Will definitely visit again. There's also a prayer room with wudu facilities which is really good and makes it easier to perform your Salah on time without having to rush the food. Definitely worth a try.

New Review May 2022 1 Star: I have to say i am very disappointed came for a table of three and was told we could seat upstairs as it was very busy and they got rid or half the tables downstairs to do cleaning. Why they doing that on a busy weekend day im not sure. Lady did tell us there was a party happening upstairs so would be noisy. We went upstairs and the noise was loud but it didn't really bother us at all. What bothered us was that they put on a dirty table and on the seats and table was broken glass. Which we told the waiter who just flicked it off the table straight onto us. Secondly we were sat at the table and got no menu given to us for a good 5 to 10 minutes when staff upstairs were just stood there doing nothing but watching the magician. After this we decided to leave and left the restuarant, this is very disappointing to say last few times we had good experience and was looking to make this our regular indian spot, but you have let me and my family down who traveled 1 hour for this. Ended up going to Raj's just 5 minutes away and had amazing time. Sort your stuff out or the customers won't stay around as theres plenty other options in blackburn Old Review 4 Stars: Came to eat on sunday was difficult to find at first as the maps take you to someones house i have updated the map location so nobody will get lost again haha. I think that was the old location of the place and now they have moved into the bottom floor of the woodlands building. Parking was very good as there was plenty. The restuarant decor was beautiful, staff was very friendly, owner seemed very caring too, was quite busy for a sunday night, i had this restuarant on my want to go list for nearly 1 year and finally i come and i was not disappointed. The food was amazing, the samosa chaat starter was superb, the chicken karai was excellent, my sister's butter chicken was a bit too spicy but mistakes happen it is fine. My little brother loved all his food, the mocktails were very nice too, i just wish i could have tried the red one my brother got but the restuarant ran out of ice to make mocktails with, which is understandable as it used to happen at the place i worked at years ago haha, we were moved tables to help accomadate some extra guests on a big party's table, but that was fine by us as we were asked nicely and on top of that the owner gave us 1 free mocktail as a gesture of thanks. Food and drink prices were pretty decent, shame i was full very quickly when eating my main meal haha, hopefully when i come next time with my cousin i will be able to finish my food. Only reason i have left a 4 star instead of a 5 star review is because of how hard it was to flag down someone to take our orders and clear our food and stuff or get the bill, but i did see a help wanted sign so maybe they just understaffed, hopefully will be better next time i come and then i will update with 5 stars. Thanks for the food and for looking after us, will be back soon inshallah

Having been a regular at Roomali since it has opened i was appalled with the service from only one waiter tonight. Every other person gave amazing service so it really is a shame that one person can ruin a dining experience the way he did. I called at 10pm to ask if they had a table for 2 available, they said they were quiet and to just walk in which we did. As we ordered our food we did say we would eat as quickly as we could as they were closing in around 50 minutes, the man who took our order allowed us to eat up until 22:53 which is when he literally told us to come earlier next time and told us to eat quick. I did think he was joking but nope! He came to our table with the packing tubs, he then proceeded to PACK our food for us whilst we were still mid eating. I hadn't gotten through even half of my drink and have heartburn from how fast i was trying to eat. I've worked in many restaurants before, i know that that is not the right way to treat diners especially when you have allowed them to order. We understand that we came late but next time if you're going to pack your diners food for them minutes before you close and can't wait for us to leave without feeling embarassed maybe don't allow a table in an hour before you close. Everybody else was great and the food was wonderful as always. Sorry for the bad review on that persons behalf.

Absolutely shocking Customer Service! I was ordering food over the phone and have been a regular customer of Roomali for quite a few years, and they have delivered to my house many a time, too. Yet when I ordered over the phone (they mentioned a new minimum £15 limit), I mentioned that I've had deliveries off them before for less and the the guy on the phone says,'I don't remember ever delivering to your house before (pretty sure he was the manager coz the phone got passed to him!') Firstly, he's implying that I'm lying, which is completely unacceptable! Its bloody shocking the restaurant have the audacity to say that to their customer. Secondly, it's pointless to be a regular of this restaurant as you get treated as just a number ( I guess they haven't realised they're in the hospitality business). My message to the restaurant is to learn some manners. You are in the hospitality industry. You've lost this customer for good. And don't forget, word of mouth is what makes or breaks restaurants, so stop treating your customers badly and show some respect!

Waited an hour just for our starters on a not so busy day. To top it of, they employ 16-17 year olds who have little skill set. My meal was disturbed by what looked like the owners of Roomali having an argument with a customer who gave some negative feedback. But where were they when those customers needed good service? Threatening and unprofessional behaviour witnessed and the food was cold and bland. Got more entertainment on the night than food!

What a great find. We were met with exceptional high standards of 'meet and greet' service. Once showed to our table the experience continued staff were GENUINELY happy with serving and it did not end there..FOOD WAS AMAZING starters were brilliant hot served together. Our mains were some of the finest curry we have ever tasted and we were very happy to have found the restaurant. THIS WILL BE A REGULAR PLACE TO VISIT ONCE YOU TRY

Food was good, but service was awful Waiters need to be trained to serve the customers that are eating and not concentrate on trying to clean table for next customers. Asked 3 lots of waiter for table water eventually after 15mins had to get it mysel same with some tissues. Also the staff are not monitoring the tables around the table they are serving, they are too head down look on the floor and walking off, they need to have an awareness of the tables around. Even I it means reassuring the customer they are working on it. Not pleased☹

I visited last week. Where do I start the food was very very bland and undercooked. The resturant was playing really tacky indian music which started getting on my nerves. The service was absolutely shocking. The waiter kept coming up to us every 15 minutes giving us the impression to hurry up. Will not be going back again.

Dined in for a booking at 7.30pm. Awful service. Food was ok but after having to wait an hour for the starters then another wait for the mains we were fed up. The glasses were dirty and we had to ask for others. The waiters were not attentive and had to call multiple times to gain their attention. When we asked for a discount at the end because we were unhappy with the service we were told a flat out no straight away by the lady at checkout and she wouldn't even ask someone else to see what could be done. The fact that even after complaining they wouldn't accommodate is very disheartening. Do not recommend this place at all.

Had a wedding on the weekend booked here. Absolutely amazing place. The staff were so lovely and polite. Everything was immaculate considering we were late they managed to work around us. The set up was fantastic. Food was warm and on point. Our guest were looked after individually from the elders to the children. Thank you so much Roomali for making my sisters day special. Definitely will be booking again.

Where do I start? Honestly can't complain about the food but who are you employing?? The child waiter who served us needs to go on a comprehensive training course in how to speak to customers. We had to repeat ourselves on numerous occasions. I asked for a dessert to be warmed up as it came out freezing cold. It was warmed again and the child waiter came back and said its "broken now" not quite sure why he said this. Got kebabs thrown at me without so much as an apology!! Also caught child waiter pulling his chuds out of his line whilst serving us food. All in all a great night very entertaining I must say. Would not recommend at all for service.

First impressions too dark all black. Low Cheap Plastic Chairs. Was given the cold naans/ roti before the Tawa curry came after a while Asked for chicken Karachi as an extra instead received lamb Karahi. Chutneys had to ask for mango chutney. No spoons. Food was bland . No spice. Too noisy. A group of women behind making a lot of noise did ask to move but was ignored.waiter couldn’t hear. Waiter looked fed up. Not enough staff serving. Very disappointed! Not likely to go back!

We came as a group of about 70 and the staff looked after us so well. The food was delicious and there was lots of it. Nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the night the food that had been prepared but not eaten was boxed up for people to take home! Now you can't ask for more than that! Thanks, Roomali!

The atmosphere and service was ok but the food we had was perfect, the lamb curry, the prawn curry were both beautifully well made the kebabs were tasty like I'd never had before and the lamb chops were marinated perfectly and so well cooked they almost melted in my mouth

This place is not the same as the old one. It use to be nice interior and attractive but the woodlands building seems outdated with chairs and tables which need investing in. Tables were wobbly and chairs were really uncomfortable. Food was okay but staff need to be told to tie there hair up! Hair was everywhere to be seen as the girls walk around with there hair down.🤦‍♀️

Went with the family, I wasn't happy with the service, vomited twice as soon as we got back home, and had a bad bout of the runs, seemed like food poisoning havent felt better now for almost 2 weeks, the good old days of great food For a decent price has gone, now they even charge for the condiments. Ridiculous won't be going ever again

April 2022 Friendly service and decent interior decor. I was sat in front of a contemporary styled wall with a large hole in it and the draught nearly froze me though. Some thought needs to be given to diners comfort too. Onto the food. It was average unfortunately. I had been to the old Roomali restaurant years ago (I think it was in town) and the food was great. Properly authentic and great depth of flavour. This place on Preston New Road left a lot to be desired. Firstly there were no prawns or paneer available for starters so I had to order chicken or vegetable. I ordered both. The chicken kebab was average. Typical British Asian resultant flavours and lacking any real complexity. The vegetable pakora / bhaji was greasy and overdone. Avoid. Mains were again typical British Asian dishes. Best way to think of them would be imagine you had an English person prepare an Indian meal for you with off the shelf sauces. Very bland and hastily prepared. Truth be told it’s really put me off the restaurant and I won’t be visiting again

We arrived as soon at it opened at 5pm and were the first customers there. The service was absolutely fantastic, were made to feel welcome, switched on the heating for us as it was really cold outside. The food was absolutely delicious as usual . The staff do really go out of their way to ensure all is as it should be. A brilliant atmosphere which is not too loud. Currently the best place to eat in Blackburn.
