This place is my new favourite fish and chip shop! The service was amazing, the portions were fantastic and the quality.... easily the best fish and chips I've ever had!! 😋 will be back again!!!!

Good portion size of fish and chips freshly cooked and very polite staff. Small car park by the side of the chippy. Very clean looking and a regular flow of customers which is always a good sign. Visited from out of the area, so it’s always good to find a good place to eat.

Disappointed with this chippy. Thought I'd enjoy a good fish and chips but the fish wasn't fresh, you could tell it's been made for a while. I mean who would bother with a chippy if the fish doesn't come fresh after ordering. The pies as you could see were microwaved, the pastry had crumbled so the pie was soggy. Won't be coming back here

Absolutely amazing place! Was just passing through town and SO glad we had lunch here! The fish was amazing, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, not oily at all, dont think I've ever tasted fish this good! The seating area was lovely and clean and nice decor also. The person who served us who I assume was the owner was absolutely lovely too. Thank you for your fantastic service.

Update - April 2022 This place has gone downhill. In fact if it was a hill I could slide down on a sled at 100mph. The service was good, always a smile from the friendly girls at the counter and bossman behind the fryer. The haddock was dead though, and I don’t mean because it’d been fished out of the sea but because it was small in size, mushy in places and really dry in others. I cook too therefore I know this was due to a poorly cut fillet which didn’t cook evenly. Please please sort this out and fit some heating and ventilation and I’ll leave 5 stars and am sure others will too! Old review: Excellent fish and chips. The haddock was large, flaky and well cooked with just the right amount of light batter. The chips were crispy and well cooked - also large portions. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Recommended. Wish I’d taken a photo. Maybe next time Edit: visited again today and can confidently say this place makes quality fish and chips. The chips were again dry and crispy, but fluffy on the inside. The ‘regular’ size cod is meaty, chunky, and fresh with just the right amount of batter. The batter is light and crispy. A little greasy but then this is deep fried food! Mushy peas were hot and satisfying. A little too smooth - some texture would be nice. Overall a happy customer.

OMG we had fish & chips it was huge portion but so enjoyable. Perfect in every way. The tea was lovely. The place was so clean and fresh and the staff was great. Thank you. The down side the take away side, the guy ehind the counter serving is lovely but the girls need to up their game to help him more. A large mild curry ended up having small, the gravy was all over the outside of the tub the same with the small curry tub, not really ideal/ My advice is EAT IN....

I love this place and so do the kids. When we chose to eat inside and let the kids share the platter not being sure if they will finish it, people serving in the restaurant were very generous with the portions and encouraged kids to enjoy the fish. Lovely experience.

I was in there once,just for a bag of chips. A family parents and 2 brats. Messing about couldn't make up there mind, changing their mind, more messing . Instead of assistant asking me if I knew what I wanted, totally ignored me. So I left and I have never gone back. How it's still in business I have no idea. As everyday I pass by the place is empty

I'm sorry but everything about this place was awful today. We ordered by phone with the name "James" yet the name this place came up with was "Xhejn" which safe to say isn't even a word, let alone a name. When we went to pick up the order, they insisted that we didn't ring to order anything, as "no one has rang an order through for a James". After finally getting the order home, we realized that the order was all wrong. Small fish and chips without the chips, even though we was still charged for the chips. Fish and peas came with chips, that the person couldn't eat due to the chips. The burger came plain, even after asking for extras.... I don't think I'll be using this place again, seen as it was a big waste of time and money Advice for anyone thinking of going here... Pick somewhere else. The staff clearly can't read, write or speak english

Mum and Dad were 😊 when I presented the 🐟 and 🍟 with spicy curry sauce. The food was nice.Curry sauce got a spicy kick to it. Service was good. However, there don't do any sauces only salt and vinegar. The atmosphere wasn't entirely dead but wasn't exactly lively either. This was around 6 on a Monday.

Called Friday evening to eat in . I ordered large cod and chips. Chips were okay but they were very badly let down by the fish . I will start with the shape - it was flat - flatter than a flat fish . Cod is a round fish with deep flakes. The batter - the batter was dark brown and extremely crispy . The content within the batter - something white , something very thin , something dry as a bone , something very unpalatable . Something well overcooked . If the supposed fish was cod then they are only using the belly flap - the cheapest cut . Nothing wrong with the staff , service or surroundings . The one star I have given for the food is for the chips.

We are regular customers at Queen Vic. We didn’t get any satisfaction of our order. Fish didn’t taste fresh didn’t have any flavour, scampis were over cooked and burnt. We were looking forward to having the meal. I’ll have to reconsider in the future. Unless we get the many back. Not a happy customer😠

Excellent service. However the chips were soggy. Battered sausage hardly had batter on it. Taste wasn't nice. Possibly cooked in vegetable oil not beef dripping. Cash only which wasn't helpful. Ate about 1/3 of the quite large portion but couldn't finish it.

I came here 2 years ago not impressed. Chips were over cooked and fish on batter was like chocolate brown and tasted awful. My friend went and picked up 2 lots of Fish and chips the other day. Still not impressed. Don't think they clean and filter the frying oil regularly. Still tastes awful....

We ordered 1 fish and chips and 1 fish and peas. The fish and chips were lovely but the other fish was soaked in the peas that had completely covered the fish and had turned the batter in to mush so was thrown away. I’ll definitely be ordering separate peas next time.

The fish and chips are nice but the scollops/dabs are terrible. I've had them 3 times and have regret it all 3 times. The first 2 times they were over cooked and the third time the potatoe was sliced too thick and was dry in the middle.

I'm not usually one to complain however.. Ramzan kids decided they wanted fish n chips for iftaar and as our usual was closed (not mentioning which!) decided to order from Queens. Ordered 2 large fish and chips and paid quite a bit more than I do at my usual place to ensure the portions were the same size as my regular place.
