My first time to the illuminations and love them especially the character ones and the tableau near Bispham. It was great to see all the character illuminations, I especially enjoyed Sooty, Nickelodeon, Basil Brush, Noddy and Postman ones. The illuminations are a fantastic light show which everyone should try to see

Disappointed... As it looked like It was just advertised and was cancelled a long time ago or council was not really prepared for it... It was cancelled due to the strong winds but the drone was flying on the sky and high pillar entertainment was continued to work... Possibly strong winds have impact only to the fireworks 🎆. And they just informed people in the last half an hour. (Although on Facebook event page was mentioned 3-4 hours earlier) I liked the atmosphere, the transformation of the city and seafront area but, at least they could do some fireworks.

Had an absolute class experience with the boys! Lovely variety of really beautiful lights. All the lights fully operational and the range was identifiable to both young and older people alike so enjoyable to one and all. We walked the full length of the South Promenade and the North and we took the tram back to the hotel we were happy and super tired and slept deeply.

If you are fit enough, take the tram to Bispham and walk back to the Christmas event. The lights are great up close and the haunted house is worth a watch to see the windows singing the monster mash. The garden just before the roundabout is lovely. I usually drive the illuminations but for a change walked it as it was a lovely night. Take a visit to the mirror ball too between Starrgate and the Pleasure Beach its lovely when lit up at night (turns off at 10pm)

Loved it as a child, didn’t feel as up to what it was as a child, but still great to enjoy. Best to drive the full length of over 6 miles, but we were using public transport. Tram was £16.60 for a family pass for 24 hours, so can be used for this and other stuff. We walked from the northern end where their are many more lights and back towards the tower. Once you get near the tower it’s busy and lots more going on

Always a great thing in Blackpool. Never fails to impress. Kids and adults always amazed by the new lights and old. From below the pleasure beach to after the north peir a great walk, drive or tram ride.

It was a great time to be in Blackpool as there is so much going on. There are Christmas illuminations with the Christmas market and fun fare. The Strictly Come Dancing cast was at the Blackpool Ballroom and a weekend of Elivs competition in Viva venue. Blackpool is fantastic in the summer also.

Christmas by the sea. Little Christmas market, food stalls, few rides for the kids, lights, music, great atmosphere. Cold, but it's December and by the sea, so take a coat. Extending the illuminations to the new year is a no brainier for me. If you like Blackpool, get along, if not don't bother.

The Blackpool Illuminations proved to be a dazzling spectacle that left both adults and children enchanted by the vibrant display of lights. Nestled along the iconic promenade, this annual event transforms the seaside town into a mesmerizing sea of color and creativity. As a visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the sheer scale and variety of illuminated installations that adorned the streets. For families with children, the Blackpool Illuminations are a treasure trove of visual delights. The intricate light displays, ranging from classic designs to modern themes, captivated the imaginations of youngsters and sparked their curiosity. The magical ambiance created by the dancing lights seemed to transport them to a world of wonder and excitement. The sheer joy reflected in their faces as they pointed and exclaimed at each new display was heartwarming. One of the highlights for the kids was the interactive elements scattered throughout the exhibition. From illuminated tunnels that changed colors as you walked through them to playful light installations that responded to touch, these added an extra layer of entertainment for the younger audience. It was evident that the organizers had put thoughtful consideration into making the experience engaging for families, ensuring that children of all ages could actively participate and enjoy the event. Moreover, the Blackpool Illuminations managed to strike a perfect balance between traditional charm and contemporary creativity. The timeless allure of the illuminated trams, a symbol of Blackpool's history, seamlessly blended with cutting-edge light sculptures, creating a harmonious blend of the old and the new. In conclusion, the Blackpool Illuminations not only lived up to but exceeded expectations. It was an enchanting experience that not only entertained but also educated, offering families a unique and unforgettable evening filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of collective wonder. This annual spectacle is undoubtedly a must-visit for anyone seeking a magical night out with their loved ones.

We really enjoyed the Illuminations, will definitely visit again. We drove from one end to the other so we would see all the lights, which took about 30 minutes as it was very busy. We also walked along some of the seafront to get photos, if you go to the tower they have a DJ playing music so you can have a little dance. The lights go off 10pm.

This is my first time back to Blackpool in a few years. I used to come here as a child to see the lights and now I bring my own child. It's not really changed much over the years and is just as good as I remember. This visit wasn't overly busy either, so I managed to get parked quite quickly and enjoy the day. For the best fish and chips in Blackpool see my next review! ....

The beach is not very pleasant but illumination are fantabulous. What an evening it was. In evening this place is full of life. If you are planning to go there do visit the Primark as I was surprised by seeing the variety. McDonald’s food is not great but there’s a fish n chips shops near the shopping centre worth try. I did not like the beach the night and lights are great.

Standard yearly trip to see the lights with the kids. They enjoy the lights and the hustle and bustle. Fish and chips and ice cream make the trip. As an adult the lights are the same each year, would be nice to see some new things but appreciate the costs involved. The little Christmas markets were out so if you don't want a second trio to Manchesters markets, wrap it all up in one night!!

Not being the lights for many years and by the looks of it they hadn't changed since then , lots of lights were only half working and very repetitive , but the little Xmas market was nice with a few kids rides and the impressive big swing ride if your brave enough . Unfortunately the weather was horrendous so we rushed round a bit but we still managed have a laugh

Really enjoyed the illuminations and the Christmas market on the prom. A little cool but wrapped up warm. Had a lovely bratwurst and hotdog. This was enjoyed with a hot drink followed by churros. Awesome. Market there til 2nd January and illuminations on until February I have been informed.

Went with daughters and grandchildren, lucky the weather stayed dry for us. Had difficulty finding a parking space, top tip go early. Walked along the prom and stopped infront of the tower ,prom was very clean and tidy and very busy. Took a few pictures . Over all well worth a trip 👌 👍🏻

Don't let the bitter winds put you off. The illuminations are a nice family experience. We got a return family ticket on the tram so we could see all the lights without freezing. There is a market area near the tower with rides and usual festive shops. The period between Christmas and New year is quieter than normal and great if you have children with additional sensory requirements.

The Illuminations are a major tourist attraction in Blackpool every year in October (the city is packed with visitors at this time), but upon reflection: Less than meets the eye. ;) I've been to Blackpool three times (2011, 2019, 2022), incidentally always during "The Illuminations". I understand that you'll get most out this festival of lights if you go down along the entire Promenade by car or by tram. There are also light installations off the seafront (see my photo of Blackpool Church). I might be mistaken, but I think they were more impressive during my first visit in 2011. Certainly, all by themselves, not a reason to visit the place.

Blackpool Illuminations are fantastic especially as it's free. And on for a long time. They are definitely worth a visit if you like Illuminations plus with The Blackpool Tower lit up and The Christmas event opposite The Tower. It is definitely worth visiting Blackpool
