This place is based on "Blackpool Promenade", &, can be found on the left hand side, walking to "South Pier" (that will be on the right). It is also between "North", &, "South Piers"!!! It is a bustling "Wetherspoon" pub, that is generally busy, quietens down, then gets busy again. The only problems we found were, unlike other pubs of this brand, the tables were situated too close to each other, so they can fit as many tables in their, as they could plus, parties of really loud revellers kept arriving in their, on a daily basis, drinking as much as they could get down them, &, were swearing a lot. No one approached any of these crowds of people for some reason, especially as a lot of families frequented the place. On that note, because of their hours of constant, very loud behaviour, on the 5th, May, 2022, a lot of the customers left, or came in, heard them, &, left again. The staff were very on the ball, clearing, &, cleaning the tables, as soon as customers left, unlike some other "Wetherspoon" pubs we've frequented.

Great service , friendly staff, only had drinks this time . Wasn’t to busy , toilets downstairs, however there is a disabled toilet near the bar . Never had a bad meal from Wetherspoon.

I went to this Wetherspoons with a family member, 10/10 customer service, quick food, and refreshing drinks There were two meals ordered, Beef Madras & Small fish & chips I absolutely loved my beef Madras, the naan and poppadoms were delicious. Unfortunately, for my family member, the small battered fish ended up having no fish in it, and the mushy peas were quite dry, but the chips were lovely! Would definitely dine here again but not order the fish & chips next time, compliments to the chef on the beef Madras spices!

Extremely busy and not worth the price. Could have cooked better food myself. Chips were cold, the burger speaks for itself. Staff was lovely tho. For half the price you can find better restaurants around.

This Restaurant was a big surprise. As we went to another Wetherspoons in Blackpool (which was not very nice), we were very happy with the decision to visit this one. It was very busy and the staff was very friendly despite to all the circumstances. Food was served in minutes. It was warm and very good. I really have to recommending the Pizza there. Enjoy this one ;)

Brilliant friendly service in this pub, nice beer, and great prices. The only reason I've not given a five star rating is because I had vegetarians with me who wanted to order some chips off the menu, which were obviously marked as vegetarian, but we were told it's likely they're cooked in the same oil as meat. Not an issue for me personally, but still not good.

Pretty nice for a wetherspoons. Lots of seats in a big room. Really quick service and nice staff. Was kinda busy even when we went in February. Lots of nice history pieces in the shelves and walls. Would definitely go again.

Our experience was good here on our recent visit. One thing that always appeals is the extended hours that you can get food when most other pubs and restaurants have stopped serving. The food was good here. Staff were friendly and helpful on our visit. Spent a couple of hours here and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area. Recommended for you to try for yourself.

Friendly and efficient staff. Very popular so quite loud. Although, there was still quite a few tables available when we got there on peak. It's wetherspoons, great value for money (VFM) and convenient. I had the cod and it was very nice. Regular customer and always recommend :)

When we approached the door, we very nearly turned around as it was extremely busy, but we were greeted by a very happy member of staff who pointed us in the direction of a vacant table, we ordered our meals at the bar, and I was shocked when they arrived within ten minutes of us ordering. The lady who bought our meals was extremely pleasant and pointed us in the direction of the condiments should we want them. Overall, the meals were fab, great prices and service was excellent! Our first visit to this particular place. And would recommend!

We popped in for lunch and was given clear concise information regarding the allergy restrictions. The staff were really helpful and patient. Job very well done - thanks everybody much appreciated. I believe the girls name was ‘Dannie’ that served me and she was really kind and helpful as I didn’t have my glasses.

Very nice pub 👍 we went twice, drinks and food at night , the pizza 🍕 was amazing, compliments to the chief, went in the morning for coffee, bit disappointed that we had to get our own from a machine and bring to our own table, when asked if we could use it or needed help, the staff member still told us that it was really easy and we would be ok, on which the coffe was strong as we got that wrong and the tea was not very nice (strong) would have been better at that time of day to have been served by staff, can totally understand staff not servings hot beverage in the evening. On the whole because the food and cold drinks were so good, fabulous u get 5 stars.

The Albert & The Lion, situated on the front of the Blackpool Mile, near the Tower was very busy. I managed to get a table for one, sad but that's life. A member of staff cleaned the table within a few minutes of taking my seat. There is an ongoing problem with using your phone to order. This was quickly rectified when I asked a member of staff about wifi, he kindly took my phone and connected me to WiFi, allowing me to order fish and chips, mushy peas which arrived within 10 mins and was excellent. I would recommend a visit. The only negative was the toilet cubicle which could a been cleaner. Overall experience was good.

We both had a Vegetarian breakfast & mug of tea, it arrived lovely and hot and tasted good. I can't eat baked beans and wish there was an option to have either extra tomato or extra mushrooms instead, not everyone wants/can eat baked beans.

Stopped off for a quick drink and a little snack. Drinks served fast and lovely, ordered some nachos and they came out with basically no cheese on and the cheese that was on had been microwaved too long, we literally picked the whole starter up by holding on to one nacho because it was microwaved that long...would not recommend the nachos. Came a couple days earlier and had the pizza, that was lovely and I would recommend that. Fast service.

Nice environment, not too loud, can talk to each other in a comfortable voice, no need to shout to the friend at the same table, great food and drinks, got the boneless basket, beef lasagne, strawberry and lime cider, orange juice & lemonade, appreciate the friendly and truthful services from the waiter, had a great time at the restaurant to summarize a long fun day, enjoyed the trip at Blackpool !

Visited here 3 times during a little stay in Blackpool. Had dinner the first night, food was absolutely awful. Drinks were fine although more expensive than usual, but the location makes up for it. Was also snapped at by a rather rude female employee, but everyone is entitled to a bad day! Had a drink the second day, which the on duty staff more than made up for by being amazing. Then had breakfast the last morning, it was brilliant, really filling and well cooked, served by lovely staff! The building is fairly small by Spoons standards but as stated the location is absolutely superb! It was overall a good experience that wasn’t too soured by a small example of a bad experience. I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area. The locals seem to really like it here and I can see why.

What can you say really – it’s a ‘Spoons! Expect typical ‘Spoons fayre here. BAD POINTS: It’s pretty much always busy (we went in the summer holidays, so to be expected) -and it was difficult to get a table. When we did, it was a tiny table which the 5 of us struggled to sit around comfortably. The place is extremely noisy, so don’t visit if you’re after a quiet drink or meal. The tables are too close together, plus they were often left laden with previous customers’ dirty plates, glasses and crockery and the tables themselves had a dirty surface. The menus are filthy, coated in a sticky substance that I don’t dare guess at. Take wipes and anti-bac hand gel! The food is reheated, low-quality rubbish so it’s ok if you just want something naff to fill up on, not a great quality restaurant meal. GOOD POINTS: If you have noisy kids of your own, you’ll fit right in here. I’m not saying this to be mean about kids – it’s a definite bonus to our family as we have an autistic 9yo who could shriek or have a meltdown at any moment. He does need his ear defenders on though due to the overall noise levels. We love ordering via the app as it means we can order as soon as we get a table (after cleaning it and removing any sticky menus, of course) -and the food/drinks were brought in good time. The food is cheap (in price but also in quality!) Drinks were better than the food, and glasses of wine very cheap compared to other places – pretty sure it’s wine on draught though which is unusual. There are loos just down the central stairs which were clean and stocked with loo roll (yay). Staff were friendly and patient despite being extremely busy and probably not paid well for their efforts. We visited several times during our week’s family holiday to Blackpool during August 2022.

Revisited in October 2022: A fairly typical JDW Wetherspoon pub, but with a great view: On the Blackpool seafront. I.e. if you're lucky enough to get a table by the windows. This place is packed at most times during the day, so often you can't find a table AT ALL - even for one person. On weekends, it's hopeless. Cheap food and drinks attract a certain clientèle, so it can get a bit rowdy and loud - especially since it's only one, big room. The Albert and the Lion is certainly *not* one of the more attractive Spoons - it seems a bit mouldy and seedy - no changes since my first visit in 2011. The building itself is impressive, but you can't see it from inside. The outside seating area is *very* limited indeed, just a few tables. Food and drinks, the usual: Fairly impressive selection of rotating guest ales on tap (usually 8-10) more often than not (but not in October 2022), plus a broad range of alcoholic drinks of every conceivable kind. All at rock bottom prices. Food is similarly cheap, and there are "club" days where a specific kind of food (say, steaks, Indian food, Mexican, Fish Friday) is offered at an even lower price. Just don't expect restaurant quality - it's all convenience food.

Very busy location near Blackpool tower, one of the most expensive spoons I’ve been in though, beat London prices. #70 in my Spoons quest Having said that food was brought reasonably fast, was ok, staff efficient with a nice friendly atmosphere, clean.

The pub was really busy on arrival. Ordered a breakfast expecting a lengthy wait. 10 minutes later it arrived. Outstanding service. So much so we returned for evening meals which was equally as quick
