This was my first visit to the Gurkha Bar. I'd booked a table for my wife and I online but went there a day early by mistake but the lady behind the desk found us a nice table and was very friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely, staff were friendly and as soon as our plates were empty it was whisked away by staff. I've been to many Buffet restaurants in the past who give quantity rather than quality but I can honestly say the Gurkha Bar on Waterloo Road in Blackpool is definitely the opposite. Great value for money and highly recommended.

Although the food was tasty and the restaurant was clean and atmospheric, there were only a small selection of meals to choose from. The sweets were bland and the salad bar left a lot to be desired. Along with this, the staff were constantly hovering and I felt like they were trying to rush us. One of the staff members even came to sweep under our table even though we had only been there for 50 minutes. Although I had heard numerous good reviews from friends and workmates, I have to admit that I left feeling slightly underwhelmed and I won't be returning.

Gurkha-Buffet Restaurant, Hotel & Bar is an excellent choice for anyone looking for delicious Nepalese and Indian cuisine. The food is flavorful and well-prepared, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

The Ghurka is an Asian buffet restaurant with all you can eat for £13.99 per adult. Although the price goes up slightly at the weekend. Whatever the price it's worth every penny. There is a charge if you leave lots of plate on your food The choices of starters, mains , sides and desserts are amazing with each freshly cooked. And what a choice !!!! They also have a good choice of drinks from the bar. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and obliging. The toilets are very clean as Is the restaurant itself. There is an interesting area about the history of the Ghurka regiment with photos and books and various other items. It is worth booking , though not essential , as it's usually very busy on opening at 5.30. It's closed on Mondays but open every other night. There is also a hotel, separate pub and a beer garden area. Well worth visiting , an experience to enjoy.

Me and my partner actually stayed in the hotel here as well and the staff were always lovely and friendly always engaging with the customers and very welcoming. The food was lovely and well laid out. We will definitely be coming back. There was only one slight down side which was the first room we were given 109 the bed was a bit too hard and caused back ache and the shower in that room was very cold and took a long time to warm up. The last night in room 108 was perfect and comfortable, other than the issue with room 109 we were both very happy and loved staying here.

I booked a table for my mums 60th birthday and we all have a wonderful time!! The staff were helpful and friendly, let me put balloons on the table and even offered to put candles in her cake and play happy birthday for her! The food was delicious and even my 2 year old ate loads!! Would highly recommend The Gurkha and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you 😊

We stumbled across the buffet restaurant by chance and decided to try it. We were welcomed nicely and after the maitre d' had checked to see if we could be accommodated, we were shown to a table and the procedure explained. It was all very nice and we enjoyed our food. The staff were pleasant and our used plates removed promptly. We were made aware of the 90 minute table policy, which was ample time and we saw the notices stating there would be a charge for excessive food wastage. In this day and age, entirely understandable. The only thing that bothered us was the way our server said they weren't allowed to handle customer's money, even a personal tip. Maybe all tips are pooled and distributed evenly at the end of the night.

This is a fantastic buffet restaurant with a great selection of Indian, Chinese and Thai. It also has a good selection of drinks served by very friendly staff. The restaurant is very clean throughout, including the toilets. Beware of the Gurkha Lamb Curry.. it say very hot on the label and they are not lying ( pint of Moreti and an ice cream later) I did finally recover. Enjoy

We have just returned home from a two day stay in this hotel. The staff are so nice each one of them. Our room was nice and spotlessly clean, my only issue was it took a long time for the shower to warm up. Which was fine when it did. Had a great stay and the bar they have is so relaxed with friendly staff and local customers. Can not find fault here. I’ve actually booked to return next year. See you all soon. Merry Christmas and happy new year

Highly recommended. Good service, buffet kept fresh, great selection of food. Very clean, very busy would recommend booking. Some parking outside but we had to park in the street a little way away, but parking in Blackpool seem like this. The evening was great value.

We went in without booking and were lucky to get table. Welcoming staff, fantastic food, great choices. Restaurant soon got busy but buffet was refreshed regularly All you can eat from fantastic buffet. Great value for money. Only downside is lack of parking nearby. Would definitely recommend and would certainly go back next time we are in area.

Me and my mum were staying at Blackpool for the illuminations this weekend and found this wonderful little gem on trip advisor, we called to book in and they were very accommodating. Mum is a very fussy eater and she thoroughly enjoyed the meal with plenty to choose from. There was a wonderful selection and we were very pleased with the restaurant overall. The team were very friendly, efficient and discreet. The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated and had a lovely feel to it. Thank you all for a nice evening :)

Everything was fantastic, thanks Not a big buffet, but the quality is very, very good. Have many tipe of meat and vegetable basic dish. Everything was really fresh and tasty, is means definitely the chefs are have good experience. I like very much when the quality is more important then the quantity!!! Nice, friendly staff! We are definitely coming back, and I recommend for everybody this very nice family restourant! Thanks again for all of the staff.

Absolutely love this place found a little gem here we did. We came to blackpool a while ago on holiday with our 1 year old and we was looking for a quiet all you can eat restaurant, well we found it. Its now our favourite place to eat out when we our away. We have been back here twice now in the past 8 months and it is such a quality little restaurant also has a hotel above so you can stay here aswell although we didn't as we had a caravan booked at haven, marton mere. The food here is lovely. Everything we tried was top quality and the staff are so friendly. It's a nice quite restaurant and that's what we like as we have a young baby and she doesn't like being in loud crowded places.. we will sure to be back to visit on our next get away!

Fantastic self service buffet, Large and varied selection of appetisers, main courses and deserts. Food was well presented, fresh and delicious. Staff are polite and courteous and were quick to remove finished plates from the table. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of choice on offer. Highly recommend 👌

Came for tea at around 5:45, there is a large selection of dishes but I wouldn’t say they were cooked to a quality standard. Some of the food was cold, such as tandoori wings, prawn toast. It’s a good place if you want a selection of different foods but they are not quality items. I did explain to the manager on paying that the food was cold and that it was not an enjoyable experience. There was no offer of reimbursement or apologies just “you were here when we opened it should be warm” to which we informed him the food was cold.

All the food was delicious! We all ate several small plates so that we could try everything and we are so glad we did. Cannot fault The Gurkha, nice owners, friendly and attentive staff, extremely clean restaurant and value for money. Being ex forces I really enjoyed the military display in the back room. We will be going again soon. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing we arrived without booking. They was happy to give us a table. Without hesitation. We asked for a table , four people, three adults and one child, age 4 , due to my four-year-old not wanting to eat, they didn’t charge us for her meal, also was happy to provide my daughter with an ice cream and didn’t charge for that , This was the first time attending this place. We highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you

I really enjoyed the Gurkha. The staff are very professional but friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean. It has a great bar and restaurant incorporated. Good place to stay. Only 10 mins walk or £5 to the front promenade.

Fantastic food plenty off choice . Relaxing atmosphere. Will be back. Ideal place to try new different dishes from chinease Indian and Thai. The only suggestion I would make is to offer cream with some of the deserts.

The Gurkha has been a firm favourite for 5 years now! On our last visit midweek we felt disappointed with the quality of food on offer. The meat dishes were tough and no spare ribs or Prawns. We asked why no peking duck and they said only at weekend? We’ll try weekend again hopefully it will be better.

We were at the Gurkha restaurant on Friday night as a party of five and arrived for a 18:00 booking we were told by one of the waiters that the table was for 90 minutes. We had a lovely meal and were finishing off our drinks when dead on 90 minutes the same waiter asked us if we could leave because the table had been booked for another party even though tables all around us were empty and had been for quite some. We were going to have another drink or 2 as we always do and had never been pushed out before which Ruined the evening. Why I ask! Pure utter nonsense. We will think twice again before entering this restaurant 3

I had a bad experience here today. There was a long black curly hair in my food from one of the food trays. I raised this with a staff member and they didn't want to help me with the problem, even when I asked to speak to the manager. I went to someone else and she said everyone wears hairnets (nothing got resolved after this) so I said to them I wasn't happy about this and I had something else. Also, the food quality was not good. The curry sauce is not appealing at all either. The pudding was fine though. I won't be going back to this Gurkha again. F-

A first visit for us and an enjoyable one too. We managed to get a table with an hours notice on a Wednesday night. We arrived just on half five and the restaurant soon got busy. It was a nice clean establishment with courteous staff. The Gurkha lamb curry was the hottest spice wise that I had tried in some time🔥🔥🔥 lamb very tender though. We both really enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and pork dumplings and tikka wings and baked vanilla cheesecake. Nice to look at the Gurkha archives too.

Fantastic hotel with bar and buffet style restaurant the rooms were clean and decent size with nice big bathroom big shower with plenty of hot water could do with a blind up at the window got room service on first day but not day after bed okay could be better the room got warm but there was nice big electric fan which was brill. Nice big bar with good selection of beers friendly bar man plenty of room with pool table and few seats outside they had football on and played a decent Duke box till late . The buffet bar was one of the best I've been to plenty of choice with a good combination of Indian Chinese and Nepalese seem to have two sitting giving hour and half each even though you can have various times to sit there's a good dessert section. staff are friendly and efficient its got a nice atmosphere and plenty of room food was top notch and very tasty very clean would definitely recommend and would go back. The only gripe is they don't serve coffee in the bar or restaurant which seems a bit daft they serve breakfast and seems a good price but didn't have it quite a friendly place 15 minutes walk to promenade and south Pier there's a good music venue up the road and there's plenty of shops and pubs 5mins down the rd

Booked on-line which was so easy but as our time to eat approached I needed to change it so called them such a pleasant gentleman no worries about changing. Upon arriving 1/2hr early we where shown to our table where our drink order was taken. The food was hot and a lot to choose from our plates were took away as we where getting more food. The waiters where constantly refilling food only slight thing could of had a few more puddings FANTASTIC VALUE Deffo go again when we in Blackpool. Thank you all for a pleasant experience 😊

Food hot , plentiful .Not a lot of choice like there use the be .But for 14.99 they have to keep prices down to attract people in . Staff service excellent and place spotlessly clean. Would not rush back to go for a while . On a budget it's good value and drink price s very reasonable.
