Disappointing. I use the village at Bury often who offer top class customer service and leisure facilities..and expected the same standard of service here. Front desk could offer more information at check in, such as directions to rooms and leisure facilities, the leaflet they hand you is helpful though. It could do to be clearer that your children can only swim at certain times in the pool, it isn't clear when you book the room online. Booked it as this hotel had a pool for use that I paid extra for, to be restricted to certain times..not much good if youre out all day like we were. Outdoor pool was closed for 24 hours which made the indoor pool ridiculously overcrowded. It would have been a benefit if they could have extended the children's swim time to later to compensate for the busyness. It wouldn't have cost the hotel anything to offer this as a gesture and I did ask at the desk at the time, to be refused. The locker band wouldn't work at all and the changing rooms smelt bad and felt very unclean. The whole hotel felt understaffed and the staff looked demotivated as a result. Rooms were very clean and spacious, nicely decorated but lack plug sockets and were extremely hot. Good room for an overnight stay but not much longer than that. Supposedly a non smoking room but opened the window and on the balcony shelf were maybe 100 cigarette ends and empty beer bottles, really very disappointing considering how well the hotel at Bury is.

It was OK without being great, we have stayed loads in the past. Paid extra in the end for a club room, room is exactly the same as all the other rooms we have had except its on the top floor. Lack of air con and a small fan even in late September wasn't great, expected at least a Dyson fan like we get in normal rooms in other Village Hotels. Wouldn't pay for the upgrade again as we usually get pool access for being booking revolution customers but this was wiped off because of a mobile only dead (no idea). Location is excellent, staff in the main are really good and we honestly book it because it's quiet with good quality beds, much nicer than Blackpool front. Room was a huge disappointment though and simply not worth anything extra.

Service was fantastic from check in to check out. The rooms were nice but there was no air conditioning. Great views when yo walk around the grounds. Food was fantastic. All in all, great stay over. Large free car park for attendees staying at the hotel.

On a positive note first, the facilities are very good, outdoor pool is lovely and warm and perfect to get a few laps in, indoor pool can get busy at time, the sauna and steam room are good too. The gym is well equipped. The rooms are comfortable nicely decorated but in need of repair (broken lamp, mould and broken tiles and plug doesn't fit the bath) hair in plug hole... might sound picky but £150 a night I expected better. Restaurant wasn't open on the Friday night which we weren't told on booking, on Saturday Restaurant was open but wish we hadn't bothered. £16 for burger and French fries, £25 sirloin steak and salad.. the steak was cooked how I asked for it so definitely not a chef issue but the quality eeesh thinnest cut and thick hard gristle, the burger was also very poor quality, (I have no problem with the price if the quality warrants it and this definitely didn't) complaint was made at the time and money was knocked of the bill. The staff in the restaurant are lovely, friendly and professional. Our waitress was a young blonde girl (sorry can't remember her name) was brilliant really lovely girl. Best thing in the restaurant is the staff and the ice-cream..... The breakfast was OK but wasn't kept topped up and cold plates so food went cold quickly

First time stay. Bought this as a deal £80 for one night & breakfast with £40 off food. On arrival was impressed with communal areas, clean and tidy. On proceeding to and entering our room, I found it dated and a little grubby! Used the pools, areas were clean, and tidy outside pool was just about warm enough for a leisurely swim , changing areas OK took our own towels which was for the best as they had no spares. Restaurant / Bar, wasn't the cleanest, but the staff seemed fairly busy, and the restaurant / bar was packed. Food was expensive, but as we had the deal not an issue until I came to use the deal, the young lad who served me seemed really put out that we were using the deal (his whole attitude changed). The evening restaurant / bar is located in the same area, was exceptionally noisy with children running around until really late +11.30pm. Breakfast was in the restaurant near check-in. This was really nice and well laid out, staff served the breakfast up (which I assume is down to Covid?) Checkout was easy enough. I would suggest that they open the bar near check-in in the evening for those who wish to have a quiet drink after their meal as the main restaurant was as mentioned really noisy(this was locked when we checked). Not sure I would stay here again

We booked a short 2 night stay half expecting a Sunday and Monday at the beginning of December to be reasonably quiet. The first night the place was fully booked with many of the rooms being used by staff from other Village hotels. Many of these staff felt the rooms should be used for parties between 11 pm and 3am, and played music and sang loudly/badly through the night. This sort of issue should be sorted quickly by on duty staff, but it wasn't. This ruined my stay in Blackpool even though the rest of the stay was fine.

STAY AWAY!! Got to be the worst health club known to man! The leisure facilities at village hotel gym Blackpool are shocking to say the least! They want £60 a month for this joke of a health club. The jacuzzi is always broke… for months of end! The outdoor pool isn’t fit for purpose as it’s always Baltic cold…. Always! The indoor pool is cold…. Always! , the changing rooms are shocking they stink of sewage and urine constantly! The steam room is barely a steam room as it hasn’t got any steam kind of defeats the object. The management well… I think my review says enough of how well this place is managed. Stay well Away do yourself a favour and go anywhere else. Don’t be fooled by the glossy pics online, the actual offering is a cheap second rate council gym with constantly broken worn out facilities that are never maintained. It’s dirty and expensive better off anywhere else than this joke of a club

Visited the restaurant on Sunday afternoon and would not recommend to anyone. The food was below average. Missing ingredients, lack of presentation, not tasty really. Certainly the meals did not live up to what was offered in the menu. Dirty, very dirty cutlery... By the time we got clean ones our food was getting cold. The girl behind the bar served my coffee in a red lipstick marked cup and when this was pointed out to her she looked at me puzzled, almost offended... She took the cup away tipped the coffee over into another one and brought it back, this time in cup with coffee spills all over as you can imagine. Not even apology. Almost as if I was wrong... I must have misunderstood intentions... maybe, they were offering a cup of coffee with a free make-up 🤣 unfortunately red is not my colour. Back on the serious note, really disappointing experience. It used to be a great, posh restaurant with good food and fantastic service... Nothing posh, great or good about this place now 😕 The only extra star for location. Otherwise would be one star as you can not give zero stars.

We came for a day trip as a couple to try the pool and had some food! Visited a few times and have never been disappointed, pool areas are always clean, 1 sauna in the main pool area wasn't working, and the separate jacuzzi also was out of order! Food was spot on as normal, overall happy but was a bit peeved we were not told there were a few items not working in the pool. When you're paying £17 each for a day pass we'd have expected a little more to be honest! We will visit again as we love the outdoor pool and every other time everything has been fine!

Beautiful hotel surrounded by green. Specially loved the swimming pool, and we went to the pub and grill for dinner. It was quiet busy but food was really good and Scott was really helpful and friendly, making sure we had everything we asked for and as soon as possible. We left with a really good impression so probably will be back x

My husband and I had a fantastic couple of days. The room was perfect.I went into the gym both days and found the staff there to be very helpful. Steve Oakes even sent me a personal fitness plan to follow, which I received on my return home. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and recommend it to friends!

Absolutely love this hotel, amazing friendly staff. I used the gym and in particular Stephen was so friendly and helpful, showed me around and helped me with gym equipment. Stephen has a fantastic energy and presents in the gym. Thank you for making me feel welcome.

Great location, I love how it’s right next to the zoo. However; she service is bad. We waited almost 4 days to have our room cleaned/tidied. And when we had spoken to staff in reception, they weren’t helpful at all and were very blunt too. Food was mid- breakfast was really good however dinner wasn’t as good. Pool was also good, I enjoyed the pool a lot during my stay here.

Stayed here for one night and checked in at 3, found our room, and dropped the bags off Stream lined, no fuss. The grounds that the hotel is situated are beautiful, in all directions surrounding the hotel. There is a golf course to the rear. The hotel has two pools, one indoors and one outdoor. The outdoor pool is heated, and it was hard to get out once the breeze touched your skin. Food Evening food is lovely at the bar and grill, and you can eat indoors or out. Breakfast was good, but some of the items were of poor quality scrambled eggs. It looked as if they were made with powdered eggs and were very pale and tasteless. Great spot in Blackpool Definitely coming again!

Pleasant personal, attentive, and effective. Clean amnesties, cozy ambiance, comfortable rooms, and bedding. Good menu and lovely service. Didn’t have enough time to try it out but the sports amnesties seemed varied and well equipped including a large pool and sauna. I recommend the Village Hotel of Blackpool and will be back myself.

Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Everything worked as expected. Good breakfast selection. We also are in the bar, food was good and decent portion sizes. Pool facilities were clean, didn't use the gym equipment so can't comment but looked comprehensive.

Great location for zoo (next door) and only a short taxi to centre and promenade. Free WiFi and good food and drink options in the hotel. Gym and pool on site too as well as a great golf course. Good location for business conferences and evening awards.

Stayed here for one night on business. Good location and well away from the seaside crowd. The staff were great, very friendly and despite a self service checkin, getting settled was pretty easy. Food in the bar was good enough and reasonable, breakfast was excellent. The room itself was OK, clean and tidy but a little tired. Bed was very comfy and there was absolutely no noise all night. The indoor pool looked great, but I didn't try it! I think for the very reasonable price, this is a great place to stay if you want some peace away from the heart of Blackpool.

After a recommendation from family who loved it here, I'm massively disappointed. The room we stayed in is among the worst I've ever seen, ill attach pictures. The carpet was horrible, with stains all over. There were loose sockets on the walls, the radiator cover was hanging off. I am aware there is a QR code to scan to report things like this but the room should never have been handed to a customer in this state. The push button on the toilet was half missing for the half flush option, the room itself is not very well lit, very dim. We had to rely on lamps to see what we were doing. There isn't enough plug sockets in the room either, none next to the bed. I was made to feel like a criminal after having breakfast included in my package deal but not being added to the breakfast list on BOTH days. The staff however, were lovely when we met them, couldn't ask for better service from the staff, and the rest of the hotel and services were lovely. All in all, if I had payed full price I'd have been absolutely livid. Won't be staying again.

Fantastic room renovation and only letdown was we had no fully working toilet in our room for the 3 nights we were there despite reporting it every day. They would say it's fixed, then it wasn't. Cleaning staff said it was a known issue. Everything else was brilliant, great food, great beer, top staff.

Visited and stayed many times, the Italian restaurant has been replaced with an American Restaurant, nice pool including a heated outdoor one. Good breakfast. We will return again soon.

A lovely birthday celebration! A huge thank you to the village hotel team to making our stay feel so special. The team went above and beyond to make our stay great. The birthday balloons on arrival in the room was a lovely surprise! Craig who served us in the restaurant was very officiant and attentive making our experience a welcoming one. The food is really nice, would recommend the grilled salmon dish!! Thank you so much for a wonderful time, we will be coming back again. Can't remember everyone's names but all the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Thank you so much, Nicole and Dawn :)

My partner booked a two night break for us so that we could have a couple of days in Blackpool taking in the football match on Thursday night. We wasn't disappointed, we were met with a friendly welcome and were soon checked in. The room was clean and they had put the heating on so it was nice and warm. At breakfast time we were met with a lovely young lady who directed us to our table. The breakfast was excellent. I had cereal with fresh fruits and Greek yogurt. Then I went for my cooked full English. There was plenty of everything. Nice and hot and well cooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location is beautiful. Very friendly staff. The bed was really phantastic. We liked the pool. The door to the rooms(need to slam them to shut) and the floor in the hallway needs some renovation. Unfortunately, no hairdryer. If you bring your own hairdryer, no socket near any mirror. No toilet brush. Due to the disturbance by lots of party people we received a voucher for the restaurant which was really fair.

We stayed here as a family of 4 with 2 small children and the hotel was ideal. 2 brilliant swimming pools both nice and warm particularly the outdoor one. Breakfast was decent and double double room was spacious and clean. We walked into Blackpool a couple of times through Stanley Park which was beautiful. Would certainly recommend this hotel to other families, great value for money particularly in the busy summer holidays.

Very large hotel set in lovely grounds with lots of parking. Golf course, gym and two swimming pools. The room was pretty basic considering the cost and it was very hot and no air conditioning. An electric fan was provided and this did help a bit. That being said I had a very pleasant stay and would stay here again.

The location is perfect, close to amenities and a quick drive to other places. The hotel has lots to offer and the pool/sauna was of good quality. The staff were run off their feet and a lot of them were inexperienced. The rooms were acceptable but looking slightly run down and dated. Our room smelt funny which might have had something to do with being located above the flat roof of the kitchens. The pub food and entertainment was very good.

Really lovely stay, clean room with lovely shower. Indoor swimming pool was lovely, clean and warm (didn't brave the outdoor pool!) Bar/restaurant was great, nice food and brilliant service. Breakfast was really nice with friendly staff. Overheard a nice member of staff helping 3 children with the vending machine and he was kind and gave them all a free treat for being so polite. Would definitely visit another of these hotels if all of them are like this one, thanks Blackpool!

First time staying in a village hotel and have been very impressed. From the minute we arrived reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a fan was provided which was great as it was a very hot day. The food and drinks were excellent and all food came very quickly. The pub and grill staff were very friendly and helpful especially Kelsey and Casey who when the extra mile to help me out. Facilities are great and you feel valued as a customer big thanks to the two girls who improved my stay.

Had a room set up for wheelchair user so not ideal for our needs. Service was slow at times, a bit hit & miss although some staff were friendly. Hotel easy to reach from motorway with golf course on site, pool area looked good although we didn't use it.

We had the best service from one of the house keepers, i asked her for a travel cot for my little boy when i saw her in the hall and she came to our room a few minutes later with the travel cot plus colouring books for both of my sons plus sweets and a fruitshoot then had a lovely chat with us and checked if there was anything else we needed before she left. I wish I had taken her name. The bathrooms really need updating they were so old but very clean so fingers crossed this is something getting done soon.

Lovely place in a decent location. Not too far from the beach but just far enough away for it to be peaceful. Good facilities, including a pool and Starbucks. The bar is pleasant and modern with reasonable quality food. The rooms are clean and modern too.

Room was nice and bed very comfy. We ate in the Bar & Grill and although the food was very nice, the service was very slow. This was not the bar staffs fault, as they were understaffed with just the 3 of them but Paulina,Ryan & Rob were excellent.. given that the resurant was full, and they were rushed off their feet, they were all extremely helpful and kept on smiling. Really a credit to the businesses. I was surprised to see Paulina handling the breakfast too, so full credit to her. Breakfast was very nice also.

Called in after big walk, none guests welcome, had Sunday roast, was lovely although could be a little hotter.Friendly hard working staff. Take blue light card also. Nice outdoor seating area at rear overlooking golf course. ⛳️

  • 2/5 Robert W. 1 year ago on Google
The room had seen better days being a bit rough around the edges, and not as clean as I would have liked. It smelled of chlorine or bleach. The communal facilities were all very good, modern and useful to have. Handy having a Starbucks on site. The place has a country resort like feel with the golf course, pool and squash courts, but the only compromise is that it is difficult to get to by public transport and 15 minutes drive to the seaside. All the staff were very friendly.

A complimentary stay as our first stay was much less than great. The hotel is under going renovations which are much needed. This stay was much improved, cleaner room, more space. We do love the swimming pool and restraunt. Our son loves coming here and after our last visit we're likely to return.
