Walk-In Centre - Whitegate Health Centre

Medical clinic

😠 Avoid if your with a child, not priority system in place. Went today got told same 4 hour wait as everyone else. The room it's self was very warm no A/C at all so trying to keep a 1 year old calm and hydrated for 4 hours was never going to happen. Easier to go to A&E..... People often mention told, hours, receptionist, wait, waiting, room, time, home, service, rude,

Can’t fault the the service but the blonde receptionist has an outrageous attitude and talks down to the patients. After sitting for over 2 hours waiting for my daughter to be seen I overheard her several times. I think she is in the wrong job as she had zero care skills. You really don’t know what someone’s going through in life and the way she was talking to them could effect them in so many ways! Doesn’t cost anything to be kind and show a little compassion. Very rude!

I went today at about 1pm and it was very busy, I was having my bloods done before chemo on Monday, the receptionist was lovely and the nurse who took my bloods was lovely too very helpful and seemed to genuinely care. The nurse gave me swabs incase I get burns from radiotherapy, she didn’t have to do this she choose to and also told me if things get too bad I could go back anytime, all the time I’ve been being treated I found this lady one of the nicest I only wish I’d gotten her name.

Went today, Bank holiday Monday.Told on arrival it would be between 2 and 3 hours before I saw someone. Pleased that someone said this from the beginning and not fob me off . Had to queue to actually get into the room where they check you in and you wait to be seen. All fair enough, limited chairs in waiting room,no one's fault there is a pandemic happening after all. Lovely friendly staff ,even under these crazy circumstances. True to their word I was seen within the three hours.

Passive-aggressive receptionist. Waited 4 hours, just to be refused an X-Ray or any treatment. A nurse named Evie Nelson should take a course in common decency - rude and sarcastic woman who left me shaken up. In need of an investigation ASAP.

The receptionist decided to share the sensitive details of the visit with the entire waiting room whilst being completely unaware of the services that had recommended that we go to the walk in center. Poor unwelcoming and unprofessional service from the receptionist.

Terrible service. Waiting hours with a 10 month old baby on Sunday afternoon who had a suspected ear infection and blood in her ear. Very very slow service and the woman on reception was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Jumped down my throat when I simply enquired how much longer we would be and where we were on the list. To which the answer was they didn't know we just had to wait. Left after that as needed faster service. Was told that they don't prioritise any conditions, people or even babies. It's just on time. Which I find ridiculous! Especially when you could clearly see in the waiting room she was distressed.

Arrived Saturday morning 5th November. My husband had tripped over a kerb and had cuts to his temple and his lips. Despite arriving by ambulance (which thankfully was prompt) and being checked in by a paramedic, we waited three and a half hours, only to be told they could do nothing for him and ordered a taxi to take us to Victoria Hospital A & E. He was not given even basic first aid meaning that his wounds weren’t even cleaned. He was still dripping blood down his face as we left the building. We don’t live in Blackpool and eventually got some proper care after driving home to York that evening and going to A & E there. I feel sorry for people living in an area where neither the Walk in Centre nor the local hospital are fit for purpose. I have to give one star in order to post this review, but unfortunately it is not deserved.

Don't bother using this place rude, do not listen and make you feel like a time waster, went with extreme pain and sudden swelling to my face at 7pm saturday was told by receptionist 'don't do teeth and use emergency dentist' the emergency dentist shut at 5. I tried to explain that I had been advised to see a Dr by 111 but they didn't want to know, went to the hospital and turns out I had a high temperature and an infection and told by Dr at the hospital that I wasn't wasting they're time.

Went first thing at 8am. Explained that I’d been suffering with deafness due to wax & I’d been applying oil for 5 weeks. Was told that the NHS no longer do syringing (blamed on Covid ?) I explained to the nurse that I was at my wits end, home life, work etc & she advised me to go home & keep applying oil ?? Felt like I got ZERO help

My husband & I cannot praise highly enough the way my husband was looked after when we had the need to attend the Centre on New Year's Eve afternoon. The attention and care which they gave him was outstanding! We would wish to give an extra THANKYOU SO MUCH to the nurses who looked after him [Judith, Dana & Yvonne]and who also generously stayed behind after the Centre was closed to wait with us for the ambulance to arrive AND to the gentleman staff member (porter? receptionist?) who also stayed behind but initially on our arrival helped my husband into the lift and all the way to the Check In desk and when my husband was in difficulties. Just can 't thank you enough. 🙏

Sliced my finger open at home, went at 0845 Sunday morning and it was pretty busy but then I realised there were appointment patients there too. That said still took me 1.5hrs to get seen, then a further 20 mins wait for treatment. Nurses weren't particularly friendly or compassionate. The waiting room is pretty warm and with people coughing all over the place if you don't go in sick, you'll probably come out sick! Overall just wanted to get out of there but ultimately they did treat my finger which was the main thing

Waited in the queue for reception for 5 minutes then was told I was 5 minutes late! Rude receptionist at the urgent medical centre - I was clearly struggling with a baby being vomiting all over me and a 3 year old crying- felt that was an unnecessary comment. I called 111 they told me to be at the hospital for 11.30 then the rude receptionist just pointed to the “3 hour wait sign” when I asked how long the wait was..

Great service once called in for your appointment. BUT patients for GP extended services for routine appointments should not have to wait in same waiting room with ill people coughing all over the place. Like another reviewer said you will be ill by the time you get out !!!!!

Helpful staff. Big building with plenty of seating areas. Takes the pressure off the local hospital. Bus stops outside and carpark.

Started with a rash on the face on Thursday, then today Sunday, awoke with swollen glands, so I decided the best course of action was a visit to the walk in centre, and I can't thank the staff enough, within two hours of leaving home, I had returned home with the antibiotics for the job.

I supported a gentleman with learning disabilities and a fear of hospitals today for an MRI scan, the staff were incredible and went over and above to make the gentleman feel comfortable, safe and secure. What could have been a very traumatic experience for the gentleman was made to be a good experience. Thank you soo much to John and the radiographer (sorry, but I can’t remember his name, but had a Liverpudlian accent) who made this experience the best it could be for my gentleman.

Absolutely amazing. Took my 26yr old son this morning. Saw nurse Steven Gough, he was brilliant and certainly went over and above to help Sam who has torn ligaments in his knee. I cannot thank him enough!! He is a Superhero in my eyes.

Absolute disgrace. My daughter was treated as though her illness was in her mind and when she couldn't cope any longer went to the Victoria hospital where they gave her urgent treatment because she was so seriously ill. So much for the Nurse practitioner at the walkin...

I attended the walk in centre this evening with my daughter, we were seen by a wonderful nurse named Steven. I can't believe how caring and lovely he was, he immediately put my daughter at ease and allowed her all the time she needed to explain what she needed to. We can't thank Steven enough for his time, understanding and compassion.

Absolutely shambolic. The NHS needs scrapping and replacing with something that works. Had to spend hours sat waiting for a child to be seen with an ear infection following a complete misdiagnosis from a GP (who we’d never seen before) a week earlier at our local surgery……..after managing to get past the Stasi-esque receptionist on the phone of course! I can’t believe just a couple of decades ago the doctor would happily come to our home as children at night and knew us all by name. What has gone wrong!? Our surgery must have quadrupled in size, but the local population hasn’t by any stretch. GPs hang your heads in shame……there’s a serious problem and it needs to start drastically with contract renegotiation. Fine, threaten to emigrate to the perfect green grass of Aus or NZ……they won’t want you all!! Our dog gets infinitely better healthcare!

😠 The actual service I received was good, but don't trust them at all. I'm on benefits and was made to go private because my own doctor missed diagnosing me with diabetes and fibromyalgia. I was told blood tests would cost £130 only by the doctor but when I got the bill it was £560 that I had to pay....

😠 This practice needs to stop hiding behind the Covid-19 pandemic and start caring for it's patients properly. It is even more difficult to get an appointment to see doctor face to face. To be told to "make it quick as I haven't got much time" by a doctor on a phone appointment is not acceptable. Pati...
