The Gothic fountain was a work promoted by Bernardo Juan de Cabrera, Viscount of Cabrera, and the town's pelaires' guild to the stonemason Pere Torrent, who had already completed it in 1443. It is the best preserved fountain of civil Gothic architecture. Catalan and one of the most important in Europe. Local microgranite was used for its construction, and also stone from Girona and limestone from Mallorca for the decorative elements.

Font Gòtica Fountain This is a magnificent civil Gothic fountain, very rare. The fountain was built at the end of the 14th century by Violante de Cabrera, daughter of Count de Prades. In his plane, light plays on centuries-old golden stone. Many of its elements stand out: a set of carefully crafted finials, a richly decorated slender spire, six stone statues of devils with humanoid and irrational heads, and a central medallion with the emblem of Cabrera. Its octagonal shape indicates that it must have been in the middle of a small square surrounded by the Ample Street arches, and it was not straight as it is today, but rather irregular, giving it the slenderness and good taste specified by its designers with six pumps of water. A few years ago, a group of people in Blanes studied how to move it so that it could be admired in its entirety, but technically this was considered impossible, as it would need to be dismantled piece by piece, and they few Centuries of corrosion did not allow for demolition.

As a tourist attraction, it is nothing special: it is in a deplorable state and does not work. Next to it is an inexpensive cafe. The fountain itself serves as a support and stand for those drinking beer at its foot.
