I don't like this hotel - it is very crowded, thin walls, paid wi-fi and old furniture in the rooms. The eating was not good, sometimes I had a pain in my stomach. The only one plus that I see is that this hotel is close to the beach and it is cheap. But you have to pay for everything else.

August 2023 - we knew it was a cheap hotel so were open minded. Let's start with the main disappointment for me - they DO NOT serve alcoholic drinks. WHAT! This information is not easily noticeable at all when booking. Luckily there's a local supermarket with cans in the fridge! The hotel is pretty much the same as it would have been in 1970. It's simple, dated and clunky. The maids did they best they could to clean and sort the bedding, but the hotel needs some serious work if they want it to be good. But....it's cheap and cheerful. The food isn't the best and there are no labels on anything, so not good if you have allergies or specific dietary needs. Every single bedroom door seems to bang shut with the draft, meaning doors are banging all day and night. Lifeguard was very lazy - just young lads, spent more time sat at the outdoor 'bar' on his phone. When I questioned him he said he was on a 'break' (an all day break by the looks of it!). The upper, shallow pool was good though, and we spent most of the day on the upper level (with our cold beers from the shop!) so the children could use the pool. Wasn't a disaster but wouldn't go again and would be reluctant to recommend it.

Location is lovely, shops, restaurants nearby, beach is lovely and warm, not too much bugs, and you can have some nice walks. On the other hand, the hotel inside isn’t. The rooms are nothing like the pictures (atleast what I experienced) very boring inside and you need to rent things they should already have inside. If your looking to go out all day long and just use the room as a getting ready place it’s good enough. Some rude people, but most are nice. I didn’t experience bad service and if your going to come here visit The Shack , chicken burgers are delicious. Me and the kids enjoy the pool but this pool was small, crowded and the inside pool smelt and the water looked disgusting. The beach , warm ,clear water, bars nearby, the beach is nice . The salt water got my skin stinging but that’s what always happens to me. We saw a jelly fish it was huge, the kids had a good laugh but was scared at the same time. They have nice drink options. Room cleanliness was alright, got fresh towels every 2 days, they emptied our bin, bed sheets changed, etc. Bed is average, we didn’t experience uncomfortable beds but our backs hurt when walking, which never happens, so maybe the beds causes things like that. No fridge is what I’m angry about you need to rent 5 euro a day. Air conditioning breaks easily or doesn’t work at all unless you ask them to fix it.

Worst hotel ever! Day 1 and felt like leaving! Don't mind out of date accommodation or basic food, you get what you pay for. But, this was hell! Shared it with 1020 youngsters, noise was unbearable, long queue for food and food was cold. Staff unpleasant, unwelcoming, door key did not work was asked €5 for replacement, TV remote was asked €5, 3 people in room but only 1 chair, 2 cups, 1shampoo sachet (only 1 per week), no soap (asked 3 days to refill), no squash court. The squash court= tennis court= football court, gym in very bad state of repair, indoor pool had 3 chairs at the bottom of the pool and the list goes on.

Dated, dirty, bad food, very bad (almost non existent) Internet connection only in the bar. Room cleaning - only if you request it and it wouldn't be a good one. Towels not very clean. Kids club is a sad looking room with few broken toys. Indoor pool is full of hair, slime and god knows what else. Reception is slow and indifferent. Wouldn't come back.

2/5 just for the clean and air conditioned room, pleasant pool area and breakfast. On the whole though, cannot recommend this hotel. WiFi is paid and barely able to load a messenger app, the staff were unhelpful (with the exception of one lady at reception), there is no alcohol in the hotel, the lifeguards got paid to look at their phones and ignore small children in the deeper pool, almost every other guest was rude and pushed into us with barely a word. Hotel Esplendid is redeemed only by the great local food and bars in Blanes.

'NO ALCOHOL' is available here which is something we didnt pick up on when booking. The hotel is quite basic and a bit old fashioned, but it is clean and the towels were changed daily. It mainly caters to a more european sector like Spanish, French and Germans, and i think we were the only English people there on our visit which was late in the season in September so there was no entertainment either. Information was difficult to find in the hotel reception in English, and hotel is about a mile away from town centre which had plenty of shops bars and places to eat with boat trilps etc grom the port. Hotel food was not brilliant for us, a bit samey, and often hot food was not all that hot!! But the waiters & staff were very good and helpful. Our room was at front of hotel and very noisy with lots of road noise and we could also hear everything said in room next door so not very private. All in all this wasnt a good hotel for us so we wouldnt come back again or recommend to anyone we knkn im afraid!!

Clean and basic. Decent pair of pools but not many sun loungers. No sea view but only 3 minutes walk to the beach. Food was good but butter and milk was disgusting. Supermarket 5 minutes walk away.

Rooms look like they're dirty (white walls became gray), CRT TVs, no Wi-Fi rooms (you need to pay for password), Wi-Fi In the lobby is REALLY slow, food tastes like it's cooked in a microwave. The ony advantages of the hotel are: 1. It's close to the beach 2. It has two swimming pools

Very expensive for drinks €2 for a bottle of water. They are on there own time zone regarding pool opening times. Food is horrible same everyday. Lunch and dinner the same menu mostly Won't go back , do not stay

All-inclusive means you still have to pay for drinks or snacks (breakfast lunch and dinner is "free") Hotel has over 200rooms but only 37 parking spots You have to pay 10€ a day to park your car here Cleaning lady's will just walk in your room in the morning even after you answered the door and asked them not to There is a TV in the room but they charge you 5€ a day for the remote (cannot use the TV without) Old spring matresses You can hear your neighbors whisper in the rooms next to you (you can really hear everything) Very small bathtub Lock on the doors seem broken (you have to try it multiple times before you can unlock your door)

Rooms were very old and tired and very basic as was the whole complex. Our room smelt of sewage. Couldn't wait to get out of it! No comfortable seating anywhere. The bathroom smelt of sewage. Never to return !!

Air conditioning in room was not working. Pillows are bad and the same for bed. Worse, there are water leaks in plumbing and during the night the sound of dropping water becomes unbearable. I had to use headphones to cut the sound

I have never seen somebody so unfriendly, the receptionist don’t really care and are very rude. They are selling wifi and don’t even know how to put it in ?! The waiters are extremely rude ! They behave as if they were 15 . The towels have holes in them. At least there are no bugs here and the location is nice, it’s close to the beach and stores . All in all I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. But if you do don’t forget your hairdryer!!
