My husband and (2) pups stayed here on our way to the Coast and it was such an amazing experience we stopped again on our way back! Listen, its NOT the coast, but what Mother Nature has created for this dry farming area of the country on the Columbia River is beautiful! I'm probably going to run out of room but here goes if you can stick thru it - I will share all the Good and just a few notes for the staff for teeny improvements they could consider. Staff: our experience was extremely positive: super friendly, helpful and kind - we had a pet friendly cabin both times and although they do not have parking right next to your cabin (it was roped on off both visits), they did have assigned parking spots for your cabin and carts for use to go back and forth. Cabin: Clean, Quiet, Modern. Traveling with animals can be a challenge - rooms often left for us to choose from have a smell, are noisy and/or are not clean - its a HUGE misconception that because you have pups you must live in filth, be used to barking and be willing to stay in less than desirable conditions. It was SO refreshing to stay somewhere where not even our pups could smell or hear other pups! The cabin flooring/paint/furniture was all current colors/design with Beekman bath products and lots of towels and most anything you could possibly need - except dish soap but there is hand soap to use. The beds/couch were comfortable the fan/ac worked amazing in the 100 degree heat -several big screen tv's and even a fireplace! The grounds were clean and other guests were agreeable to honor the leash rules at all times and pick up after their pets - it was a dream! The on-site restaurant with bar is always a plus when traveling - charge it to your room with an option to take it back to your room, which is what we did. Our 1st stay the nicest gal (blond curly hair - I'm sorry I didn't catch your name), but you were so kind to me - giving me samples of the local beer to choose and taking the time to explain each one while I waited for my food - - which was amazing - I had the Burnt Ends and a local beer and on the way back the NW Salmon, a glass of Lodge White Wine and the Toffee Cake! Sure, it's pricey but they are a resort - I expected that! When I stopped by to pick up my food that 1st night - she gave me a tasty bartender special at no extra charge (I hope that doesn't get you in trouble!), it was a delicious and refreshing and perfect for those gorgeous sunsets you get to view right from your private deck! . **A few teeny side notes: There are a lot of bugs. Its a river. Bring bug spray for yourself - the cabins come with bug spray for inside/outside - THANK YOU! But because of the bugs if you leave your outdoor light on your screen will be covered. Simply turn off your light wait a few second tap them off from the inside and they won't come in. Clearly a lot of guests don't do that because the walls in the cabin have bug bits left behind. Our 1st cabin (#7) was nearly spotless; our 2nd (#5) was still very clean (kitchen/appliances/furniture/floors) BUT it needed ALL the walls wiped down and the exterior windows were pretty dirty/buggy. It would be super if housekeeping added to their list to use a wet swiffer to wipe the walls and interior/exterior lighting between guest stays. I wish they would also consider changing the blinds and lampshades to a wipe-able surface - not fabric. Cabin 5 blinds are in poor shape and the lampshades were stained. And although I loved the decor incorporating local Pendleton Wall Hangings, I don't love they are fabric, especially the one in Cabin 5 that hangs right where your head goes while sitting on the couch - maybe consider framing those? Overall, I can't recommend this place enough - thank you for making the start (and end) of our 25th Wedding Anniversary so great! We will be back for our 26th+ . .

Comfortable, pleasant, restful, peaceful, friendly, delicious, and invigorating. Love the lobby grand entry with warm fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating. I had breakfast and dinner 4x at the restaurant right off the lobby and enjoyed the meals and drinks with beautiful river views. All the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Lisa Marie in the restaurant/bar was a joy and a great ambassador for the River Lodge.

Our stay was perfect. I was in town for business with my brother. We got a two bedroom cabin and it was so great. Very clean! We spent one of the afternoons at the pool and spa and we had so much fun with very affordable drinks! I didn't eat at the restaurant but my brother did and he loved the food. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stay here.

We loved taking our family here to this cute cabin on the Columbia river. Definitely a fun experience though it was overpriced at $300 a night. We thought we would splurge since you cant beat the location. Disappointed by the front desk's lack of information, we didn't know that we couldn't park by our cabin but only in the parking lot and didn't know we needed to grab a cart from the lobby to walk our luggage over. Cabin was nice for the kids and had plenty of room. It was a little bit on the dirtier side with animal hair left from a previous stay but overall we enjoyed it. They also offer deals like champagne or wine in the cabin for your stay or an old school video game console with a bunch of games and a couple boxes of candy and even a drink from their bar and restaurant. This was cool for the kiddos but the controllers stopped working half way through which was a bummer. All in all we had a good time but there's always room for improvement.

This is a diamond find in Boardman. Rooms were nice, beds were decent, view is Amazing! What I lobe about this place is the restaurant in the hotel is solid. One stop for all you need and they have paved walking trails around the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay! All the hotels were sold out or terribly expensive in Kennewick, so we took a chance on this one. It was Fantastic!!! Clean, beautiful, quiet, everything we could have asked for. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and it was pet friendly. Super cool that there were bicycles to rent, and great coffee. Had to get on the road very early so unfortunately didn’t stay for breakfast but I’m guessing it would have been excellent. Next time we are through we will definitely stay here again!

Love this place! Have stayed here several times over the years, and it doesn’t disappoint. Great river view rooms with opening windows & spectacular views. Walking/biking path with access to free bikes in lobby; We didn’t have coffee make in our room, but others did, & I enjoyed free coffee/espresso/tea options in lobby! Ate in restaurant for dinner & breakfast. Delicious salmon & then b&gravy for breakfast! Beautiful sunset & inside door for the east end upper “suite” was open in our room, so we got a very nice bonus room with a sunrise view too! Definitely hope to return!

This spot was a good value to stay on the way home from a road trip. It’s surrounded on 3 sides by Industrial/factory buildings. But the back of the hotel and restaurant do have a beautiful view of the river. Only rooms at the back of the hotel would have that view and ours did. Our room was large, pretty clean and beds were really comfortable. Kitchenette and coffee machine are really old/need update. The restaurant breakfast was great. We had great service from everyone. There was an overpowering manure smell in the parking lot and into the lobby when we arrived at 9pm. By morning only a faint smell in the parking lot remained. Since no other reviews mention the smell, I’ll assume it was just some unfortunate one time thing. Overall the place was great as a travel stop for the price and a good value.

The view is breathtaking and the cabins were top notch. We stayed in a 2-bedroom cabin with lovely air condition, huge picture window and the Lodge was close for meals. Very clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 days and 2 nights. One issue is no parking at the cabin and schlepping stuff from the car to the cabin. Mini frig with no ice availability and a note on ice machines in the Lodge that they are not to be used for coolers. Shower heads were not adjustable for stronger stream. No fire pit at the cabin however we were invited to use the one at the Lodge. Fire danger is real here along with the possibility of strong winds so that makes sense for the general population cruising through. We ate at the Lodge Grill and enjoyed the beautiful view of the Columbia River and the riverboats passing by. During the day, we drove through Boardman, took a look at the industries that employ the town, attended the Farmers Market at the park and took a day trip to Pendleton. We watched the mass of large dragonflies (who eat insects - bonus) and listened to the birds in the calm of the quiet morning. Perfect lil getaway.

The location is nice because it’s right on the Columbia River. Beautiful view of the river and sunset! Almost $300 a night is a bit steep due to the cooling system in the cabin not working great, it was pretty hot until around 5am even though the thermostat was set to cool. Strongly suggest a new cleaning staff due to hair in the shower and the floors were dirty, other than that it was ok. You have to park in the parking lot and walk to your cabin, there isn’t parking right next to the cabins. Check-in and check-out staff were super friendly and helpful.

We were very disappointed in our stay at River Lodge. Location is beautiful; however quite a few incidents made this stay less appealing: dogs barking outside the window at 6 AM, loud lawnmower outside the window at 6 AM, dogs on leashes in and out of the restaurant quite often and owner not caring that the dogs come right up to your table. The ice machine was out of order, and the hot tub was also out of order. We did have breakfast in the restaurant, and it was delicious.

Lisa in the restaurant was fantastic. She grew and harvested the horseradish with her bare hands in minutes. Once her farming was complete Lisa crushed it at our table with her horseradish hammer so that it was spicy and fresh. My mouth still burns with the fire of deliciousness.

Fantastic views. Lodge has great atmosphere. There's a small beach in back, we had a camp fire. Clean and comfy. Good beers at the restaurant with river view.

First time stay in one of the cabins and worth the price of admission. Quiet area and not many people around, except for the occasional jogger or walkers. Beds were comfortable although would’ve appreciated a little more stout mattress. Overall, very comfortable. River view was great.

Rooms were clean but outdated. Staff was friendly. Beautiful views of the river. Location is pretty far from things and the area is very industrial but it's a good place for relaxing getaway. Downtown Walla Walla is about 1.5 hours away if you want to spend the day wine tasting.

Wasn't quite as nice as we were expecting. The room was large, and the bed was comfortable, but the windows were so dirty that it was hard to enjoy the sunset. There's also a very strong odor (industry?) outside, which didn't encourage us to stay out there. We most likely will choose other accommodations if we travel to Boardman again.

We came to have dinner to celebrate our anniversary, arriving at 4:00 - which is the time their website said the dinner menu was available. The waitress told us dinner began at 5:00. We decided to have drinks & wait for the dinner menu to be available. We ordered prime rib and salmon. The flavor of the salmon was amazing! However, it - and the mashed potatoes & sautéd veggies - were COLD. And the prime rib? OMG! It was horrible! For one thing, we asked for medium and it arrived extremely rare. It was also cold, a weird color and had no flavor at all. When we complained we were told the best they could do was give a 20% discount on the prime rib dinner only. We were SO disappointed….especially since there’s not many other choices for dinner near where we were staying. Our recommendation? Skip going there & go across the street to the pub & have pizza.

This was an unexpected gem on the road in eastern Oregon. The dining room is bright, big windows, River views abound and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive. Sports TV’s in the bar area. Location on the river is magical. Nearby walking and bike path short but nice to have and free bike cruiser was great. Exercise room is small and basic. A/C a bit noisy with start and stop but bed and linens very comfortable. Overall a very good experience and value. Could also offer some smaller breakfast options like single pastries but food was good.

We came here from out of town on a whim to try out the restaurant. It has very beautiful views from inside the restaurant even if you were sitting on the outside. I ordered the pepperoni pizza it was very very good my friend or a pulled pork sandwich which was very indulging. I don't suggest the coleslaw because it was very very spicy which I don't understand why you would do that with the coleslaw. The waitress was very not very attentive like we ordered coffee and got it halfway through our mail. She just never checked on you after she dropped food off. I would probably give it more stars if you had a better waitress experience.

The rooms have absolutely beautiful views of the Columbia River and sunset! We will definitely be back. Unfortunately, we stayed on a Friday night and their was some partying going on outside that we could hear until late into the evening . And the restaurant was fabulous!

We spent one night at River Lodge. The lodge, grounds and views are lovely. We at dinner and breakfast in the dining room. The food was excellent and the wait staff very good. The wait to receive our dinner was a little long but we enjoyed the view while we waited.

Leyla went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice stay here. There was an incident with another resident and she was so kind about switching our room. It's hard traveling with three littles, but she was so understanding and made it a smooth process. The food was surprisingly good and the wait staff friendly and accommodating. We were sad that the hot tub was closed and the pool was pretty dirty, but Leyla made our stay a good one!

The restaurant could have been better. The fish and chips were over cooked, but good tasting, salmon salad was good. Breakfast was disappointing. Waffles were not crisp and warm not hot. Strawberry compote was frozen and just berries, not compote. Service could have been More personable. Dinner was not very busy and there was little attention to the tables. Breakfast service was better.

This review is about staying in the cabins in late July. It isn't about the restaurant or the lodge itself. Hopefully I saved you some time with that disclaimer. Just to the east of the lodge there are 8 or 9 "cabins" that are separated from the river only by a public bike path. We stayed in a "studio" cabin (number 5) but they also offer larger ones. Our cabin was very spacious and included a kitchenette (microwave, new Keurig, hot plate, toaster, enough dishes and cookware to make modest meals), bathroom with walk-in shower, sitting area with couch, dining table with two chairs. 2 TVs, and the most comfortable king bed I've slept in for the last year. There is also a deck that starts by the entrance to the cabin (east) and wraps around to the river (north) where you'll find two Adirondack chairs. About one foot from the public bike path. The inside of the cabin is air conditioned and generally a pleasant place to be although it is showing mild wear and tear. The bike path starts a quarter mile east of the cabins at a small park and extends south 2 miles west of the hotel to what seems to be a higher-end RV park. This is no fault of the hotel, but it is in an area of heavy industry and sometimes the nearby mill goes through a cleaning cycle so the smell outside is unbearable. Imagine if your grandfather drank a sixer of Keystone and ate 50 hard-boiled eggs and then used your bathroom. Now imagine distilling that smell and bathing in it. Additionally, the exterior lights of the cabin (at the entrance and over the chairs facing the river) cannot be turned off so the bugs (in July at least) are Hitchcockian. Between the smell and the bugs, going outside after 10pm was not an option. I feel I should reiterate that this is not the fault of the hotel. Both the bugs and the smell had dissipated by 7 or 8am the next day, although the river shoes I had left on the deck had to be discarded. Staying here was a very unique experience and I will recommend it to friends with the caveats listed above. I would also highly recommend bringing a beach umbrella or canopy, as the deck is unusable (in summer) without extra shade. Every employee we met was very friendly and accommodating. It's a great place to watch birds, and we also met the CO of the Boardman Recreation District. Imagine if your grandfather drank a sixer of Keystone and ate 50 hard-boiled eggs and then asked your uncle to clean the bathroom. The uncle is pretty much the CO of the Boardman Recreation District.

Beautiful place. Went over to the restaurant. It's right on the Columbia River great views. Fish and chips was delicious. Did not care for the Chipotle cold slaw. Waiter was great, very friendly, prices for lunch very reasonable.

We, three ladies 70+, one obviously handicapped, specifically travelled to Boardman in hopes of seeing the northern lights. At check in we were waved in the direction of the cabins and told we had a marked parking spot. The parking spot was considerable distance from the cabin and no one told us there were wagons to use to get our luggage to the cabin. A map of the grounds would have been VERY helpful. We were unable to sit outside once the sun went down and would have been perfect except for the two spotlights on the river side and the lights at the door that attracted bugs in the thousands. We called the front desk to see if we could get the lights turned off. They said they would check but no one responded in any way. We were forced inside where the air conditioner should have kept the cabin cool but obviously was not working. We waited over an hour for both our dinner and breakfast to be served. The food arrived hot so it was obviously an issue in the kitchen and not with the wait staff. When we checked out and complained about the lights we were told there is a switch up high to turn the lights off. Three of us looked and decided the switch must be on the roof. This place could be a five star with just a few simple changes.

Room was clean and spacious. River view was a plus. Two Barrels Taps + Grill restaurant serves a good breakfast. This is our 3rd stay here and we plan to return!

Although it’s located in an industrial area, the property is is set right on the river with great views and plenty of walking space. Very dog friendly. The staff was friendly and personable. The rooms are a bit outdated but comfortable and clean. The on-site restaurant, Two Barrels Taps and Grill, was very good! We will stay again and recommend it to others.

This is our second stay, and they've made nice changes since the middle of Covid in 2021. Most notable is the restaurant. Excellent good and service. I chose to return for my birthday because it's a short hour and a half drive for us, but it feels so peaceful there it's a relaxing world all to itself. Love beach walking near the river.

My husband, son and I have stayed here a number of times and love it. We always get the two bedroom cabin and they are clean, modern and comfortable. The service is great and I hope to continue making this our stop between Boise and Seattle. We love the weekend flash sales!

River Lodge Cabins is a great place to stay if you're looking for a rustic, yet comfortable experience. The cabins are clean and well-kept, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The views of the river from the cabins are beautiful, and it's a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The only downside is that the cabins are a bit pricey, but overall, I would highly recommend River Lodge Cabins to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Boardman, OR.
