On a recommend, we stopped in for a Friday night dinner and were not disappointed. We were greeted by name, sat at a comfortable table and offered spectacular service and dishes. Dawn was outstanding with her suggestions, attentiveness and all around local style and smile. Can’t say enough. I had the baked Brie and moved on to enjoy the short ribs with mashed potatoes and veggies. Wow! I ordered a local hazy and discovered the beer list was mostly local breweries. FABULOUS! A local restaurant supporting local wineries and breweries. Topped it off with a chocolate brownie and Ala mode. Such a great experience and so close to home. You have got to try it.

Made a stop for a quick bite on the way to the airport. Its a nice atmosphere and great service. I had the BLT with a cup of soup. The sandwich tasted great. I enjoyed the crispy sourdough bread it had a nice aioli that tasted great. The tomato basil soup was very good too. I really liked how they left the puréed tomatoes in the soup instead of straining them it added a little heartiness to go along with the good flavor.

Food was flavorful and clean. Good ambience. Great local beer choices and handsome bar. Friendly staff. The reason for 3 stars; Food portion was too small. Ordered a salad and it came with 4 oz of chicken and a cup of shredded iceberg lettuce. Pretzel came out with one medium size pretzel. Fish tacos only had two tacos with side of same ingredient used to cover the salad. Utensils served in a paper napkin. The Price point of this restaurant and ambience it wants to convey.. they should at least serve utensils in a nicer napkin or cloth.

This staff, and this kitchen crew is amazing! Channie the GM, Robert, and Macy, are just wonderful. This is one of the best places I’ve eaten in Idaho. The clams are so true to authentic Italy, and the entire place is so warm and welcoming. Did I say doggy dinners available? What? Bring your dog for its own menu!!! They have rotating artist work on wall, and really bring a new meaning to “Supporting local artists, and “The Local!”

This was our first visit. We had tomato basil soup that was excellent, as was the beet salad, and the turkey sandwich was very good. The service was very good and friendly. Our experience was great, and we will be returning soon.

The Local is always one of my favorite places to eat in all of Boise. The restaurant always has a welcoming environment, doesn't allow kids, doesn't have TVs, the food is fresh and delicious and the people are friendly. The rotating artwork and local bands is always a plus as well. Their pretzels and fresh sandwiches always make for an enjoyable meal.

OK so this is the spot you go where you want to have a super tasty and thoughtfully designed dish. The prices are great. Not too expensive. It reminded me if a trendy spot tucked away in LA. My partner and I have lived in Boise about a year now and we are from all over, so finding this little gem made our night. The blues and beet salad is the best. If you're looking for the perfect dish, a great price, friendly staff, and a stylish environment - you gotta go to The Local!

Wow! Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff. The mac and cheese was to die for! The owners and staff make you feel so welcome. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. Will definitely be recommending The Local to my friends and family. 10 out of 10!

We have had the opportunity to visit The Local several times recently and on each occasion the food as well as the staff were amazing. I wish I could list a favorite dish however I have had the pleasure of their Prime Rib dinner as well as their Prime Rib French Dip. Both were delicious, beautifully prepared and excellent meals. On a lunchtime visit I selected the “Sliders” and was awe struck…truly the most flavorsome and satisfying sliders I’ve ever had. You simply cannot go wrong with the delicious food and amazing selection of fine wines and top notch beers!

Food was yummy. Server was attentive but not intrusive. I was meeting a friend I had not seen for years. Before we sat down I asked if they wanted us to avoid a four top as we would likely be there longer than just the time to eat. The owner was lovely and said no problem and take a comfortable spot. We sat and enjoyed our food and catching up for a few hours.

Tried The Local for the first and It won't be the last. Great food and great service. Very nice place. I had the steamed clams in a sausage ragu and my wife had baked brie, both were excellent.

This is exactly the type of restaurant experience I have been after! A cozy inside with interesting art, a relaxing patio option when I want to sit outside, and the owners are so lovely and welcoming. Top notch hosts. I recommend trying the sliders, the sauce they make for their giant soft pretzels was rich and delish, and I had their Turkey & Brie sandwich and almost wished I hadn’t because now I want one at least once a week for always. The bread they used had the perfect crisp crust and the blackberry on it really topped it off. They’ve also got a great drink selection to wash it all down! I highly encourage you to go eat here.

WOW!! Such a thoughtful menu, amazing local tap and wine selection, and we felt so taken care of every moment. The food was out of this world and lots of gluten free options with a clearly marked menu and knowledgeable service. We had the nachos (delicious custom jalapeño cheese sauce WOW) and the delicious fish tacos. All the food came out hot and perfectly yummy. Can’t wait to come back for the live music! What a treasure!

We had a good time at the local. This venue is small inside but nice. We ate here in the summer when the large glass roll up door was open to the patio - that was extra nice. When it's all closed up it's noisy with all the non sound absorbent hard surface walls and ceilings. Food was good. The Pinot grigio was very enjoyable. The three street tacos dish - chicken, shrimp, pulled pork was delicious. I would have enjoyed it a bit more if it was served nice and hot and on a warm plate- it was cold. We will be back.

Tried this place on a whim. Fun atmosphere. Great flavors. Friendly staff. We liked the menu. It had a good variety of options including gluten free which is important to us. Seemed very clean as well. Great experience!

First time. Great food and excellent service. Had the hummus and clams with red sauce and sausage; I know, right. Cool, adulty vibe. Great beer and wine selection. Finished with the creme brûlée. Fantastic service. 10/10 will def be here again.

Stopped in to have their special Saturday night prime rib. After I ordered, it occurred to me that my server didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked. Thought about saying something but assumed no one is going to bring out a medium well prime rib. Well, that's what I got. I partly blame myself for not saying something when I ordered and when they brought it out. Now I need to decide whether or not I'm going to give them another chance because I don't like judging them based on one overcooked meal.

Always an enjoyable experience eating at The Local. But the star of the menu is ALWAYS the sliders. Dressed up with the add-ons or stripped down for the purists, these are hands down the best around. Do yourself a favor and get an order (or two) for yourself, and one for a friend.

Went to The Local for lunch during a Greenbelt bike ride. I enjoyed the Taco Trio. The salsa had a little heat to it. Will go back again with friends.

The restaurant has an excellent healthy menu and great service. Their menu is just the right size to have something for everybody, and yet be able to focus on quality. I love the brie! The only downside is that I'm not a huge fan of their alcoholic beverage selection and hoping that they'll introduce some new cocktails.

Quality restaurant. Seems to be a well oiled machine with a tried and true formula for success. Clean and well prepared food, good staff, and a casual atmosphere offer a relaxed environment suitable to enjoy a nice meal. Personally I value when a restaurant like the Local sticks to the "basics" of what works. They aren't trying to be 5 star. The feeling I get is they are trying to offer a tasty yet pleasant experience at an affordable price. They are doing this rather well. Every restaurant has weaknesses. Here it's obvious that the leadership care. Overall The Local is an excellent example of executing the fundamentals of what a restaurant should be. I dislike 5 star rating systems. If a 7 out of 10 is considered a nice pleasant experience across the board. I would give The Local a 8 for achieving high marks in many areas that highlight understanding of the restaurant business. Good work.

Keith was very accommodating. We showed up with 4 adults and 4 dogs. They created a spot for us, brought dog bowls out for each dog and a doggy treat. He was attentive and took great care of us. The food was delicious as always. We had a pretzel, a BLT (the bacon is always amazing), and a turkey sandwich. Our friends also got the French dip and we ordered some pup cups for the dogs. A great time was had by all (human and dog). Will be back soon!

Decided to try the Local for a date night based on a coworker recommendation. They were not crowded but it was a weeknight. We ate inside which included mood lighting and artwork by local painters on the wall for sale. The waitress was helpful, but the meals were a bit slow, in my opinion, to be delivered. I had the salmon and my wife had the fish tacos. The presentation of both was excellent and they were very good. Meal portions were small so be prepared if you are hungry to get an appetizer or a salad as well. The menu was a bit limited and a step or two up from tavern fare. If you enjoy socializing with drinks and possibly a meal this is a good choice. I would probably come back, but I don't believe my wife would.

We had a great time at this spot, especially once they met our dog. We were on a road trip and had struck out at a lot of places because we were traveling with our German shepherd. Thankfully, this place had a patio and we're more than willing to let us hang out for a while and get everyone hydrated. The waiter had great recommendations for beer, and it was nice to see all of the local options they had. Food was great and the patio was the perfect amount of protection and shade from the loud parking lot and hot summer day. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!

I’ve been here two times now and both times have been overwhelmingly positive. The dining area is nicely decorated and gives off an inviting small business vibe. Additionally, the staff is friendly and genuine, which is always a plus. :) And the food is delicious! Last time my wife and I went and we ordered wine with a charcuterie board and it was one of the best I have ever had! The board had a unique and creative assortment cheeses and meats that was both surprising and delightful. This latest time we visited, we both ordered salads and soup and were again quite satisfied with the flavor, originality, and quality. I’ve been very impressed with the prices too. You certainly get your money’s worth here!

Tonight was our first time at this establishment and I was very impressed. I had the short ribs and they were so tender and tasty. The staff was very polite, attentive and efficient. When we come back on our annual visit to Boise we will need to come back.
