We found this Gem (Ishtar restaurant) while shopping at Antique World Mall 5 years ago and have been coming here often. They have the best Lamb Sharma (weekends) and hummus. My husband and I always have plenty to eat and leftovers to take home. I also love their Baklava and usually order some to go. During COVID we would order food to go when we were in town. We live in Caldwell and will make the drive down when we crave for Mediterranean food.

Absolutely one of the best middle eastern cuisine in Boise, Idaho. I do recommend highly, and while you’re there don’t forget to try their homemade dessert ( Baklava )

We love this place! The food is always fresh and well prepared. And healthy ingredients and cooking methods! Love their bread too. Whenever we come here, we feel like we’ve been invited to their house and we are eating their home-cooked meal. You can’t leave this place without trying one of their baklava. Yummy!

We lived in Dubai for 9 years before moving to the Boise area. We were enthralled to discover that Ishtar’s does indeed taste and feel just like our beloved Arabian home. We have been to Ishtar’s several times and they never fail to delight us! The shush taouk and shawarma players are fantastic and don’t miss the hummus and tabouli!

Everything was great! The people are kind, the atmosphere is cool, and the food and drinks were delicious! I had the kebab sandwich and my partner had a lamb shawarma sandwich which had amazing flavor. The Karak tea is our new favorite. We will be back to try everything :)

I came in and placed an order the day before I needed it. Spoke to them about my needs on feeding 10 people for a meeting. We decided on chicken skewers with rice, hummus, salad and bread. Upon arrival, food was still being prepared and actually came out 15 minutes later than requested. I again advise them on needing to supply utensils for 10 people. I was offered 4 sets of forks and knives and no plates. Asked again for some to go dishes and was told that I should go to Albertsons and buy something. I was pretty shocked after just spending a $180 at their establishment. Once I got to my car a gentleman did Chase out the door and reluctantly offered some to go boxes to try and accommodate. Overall the food was par and I wouldn't personally recommend this as a place to frequent.

Quaint authentic restaurant run by an absolutely Golden family. My food took no more than ten to fifteen minutes, but they felt badly that I had to wait and provided a discount as well as free baklava of their own volition without me even asking. They were kind enough to discuss spices I should purchase for my wife who is an avid cook. The food tasted authentic and I could tell it was all home made. Will definitely return soon.

This is the best middle eastern restaurant in the Boise area of the Treasure Valley. And such nice staff. Definitely plan to come back here!

Nice, small restaurant located inside the convinience store. The service is a good and there's a lot of menu options to choose from. I got one of the sampler meals and everything was delicious! The food is a little pricey but you won't be disappointed.

This place is so quaint and authentic. Love the atmosphere and the food is great! The service is amazing, the people are so nice and attentive. Food is so fresh and tasty! Glad we stopped by here for lunch! We even got free baklava. Price is reflective of portion and quality. It's homey and cozy. Must try when you're in Boise. Love from Canada.

A teacher of mine recommended this place, and I’m so happy she did! I love coming to the restaurant to have lunch, and the market has the best baklava. The owners are amazing people and so kind, I highly recommend stopping by if you get the chance!

Love this place! Their food is amazing and their menu is expansive offering meat and vegetarian options. The people are super friendly, and there is the store and bakery to visit after you have a meal. We bring friends here and everyone comes away happy! Always a treat!

Best samoon (Iraqi naan-like bread) around! It’s a quiet place, divided into a grocery store and restaurant with 7 or 8 booths. It’s hidden in a corner of a strip mall, so not enough people know about it, but they should. The food is delicious. My partner and I started with dolmas, warm and served with olive oil, plenty of sumac, and some cooked tomatoes. We then each had a sandwich on warm samoon, one with shish taouk (chicken kebab meat) and one with Iraqi kebab, made with ground lamb, cooked fresh with a rich but not spicy-hot combination of spices. It’s a full-sized kebab’s worth of meat. For $8, that’s a good deal. It had just a little too much raw onion in the sandwich, though. The shish taouk was cooked to the right of doneness, not dry or over cooked like some grilled chicken breast can get. The owners and staff are super polite, too.

Amazing little Arabic market. We stop in every time we are in Boise. We love the restaurant as well. The baklava is amazing!

The food and service here is always excellent. We try to visit once a month. We bring family and friends whenever possible, and have told everyone we know it is a must try. We enjoy products from the market regularly, including goat cheese, Mirenda soda, turnip pickles, and falafel spice mix. The warm bread and beautiful baklava are the best of their kind I have had anywhere. It is a family business of kind, friendly people and I'm glad to have discovered this gem!

Ordered a number 24 it was the most flavorful food I have ever had for Middle East food. The hummus was hands down my favorite with the fresh warm bread and the best part is the sell it to go. This is a must stop place for food and friendly service.

Best authentic Middle Eastern food in Boise, albeit small and unassuming and inside a market. Have been coming here for years. The new owners are incredibly hospitable, and the food is fresh and top of the line. Something for everyone (even fries for my picky eater!) Thank you for everything!
