Far away from city's noise, this amazing former monastery surrounded by Bologna's gentle hills it's worth a visit. But don't expect to find it always open, try to knock on the door and maybe someone will open it for you.

Sul monte Giardino sorse il cenobio ma la data è incerta. La chiesa invece, dedicata al martire San Vittore (IV secolo) fu fondata nell’XI secolo. Fin da subito si insediarono i Lateranensi, e nel 1178 fu consacrata al culto dal Vescovo di Bologna Giovanni IV. Nel XV secolo ci furono dei lavori di restauro ma tutto sommato la chiesa mantenne lo stesso aspetto fino alla sua chiusura voluta da Napoleone durante la soppressione degli ordini monastici. Dopo anni di abbandono nel 1997 ritorna ad essere di proprietà della Chiesa di Roma, e nel 1999 subisce un importante restauro grazie al quale oggi possiamo ammirarla in tutta la sua bellezza. Di particolare interesse è il coro ligneo del XV secolo e il chiostro del XII secolo. Nonostante non sia proprio vicino vi consiglio di fare una visita (io sinceramente ci sono stato qualche anno fa, lo capirete dalle foto fatte con il vecchio telefono), non ve ne pentirete!!

Posto intriso di spiritualità e tranquillità, immerso nella natura del colle, ricco di storia. Magnificamente ristrutturato nel 1999 e gestito da privati e un'associazione. Organizzano eventi culinari e artistici che non potrebbero avere una cornice più adatta.

A remote place between San Mamolo and Castiglione. Go up and find it there, in the silence of the hills, surrounded by a mysterious and peaceful atmosphere. The cloister is enchanting, reminiscent of the colonnade of S. Stefano. Another hidden gem discovered thanks to a guided tour by Succede solo a Bologna. This beautiful and ancient monastery has a splendid cloister which is a photocopy of that of Santo Stefano in the center of Bologna. The evening lights and the sunset over the hills add a touch of magic to the truly magical place.

you enter an ancient world... the "sacred" atmosphere we were there on a chilly evening, you enter the kiosk lit by candles, you sit in the fireplace room and enjoy the simple and good food. congratulations to the manager who makes this splendid place come alive

Ancient church from 1100 with adjoining cloister. Small but splendid structure with very harmonious proportions, testimony of authentic faith and love of beauty. The "Stabat Mater" was performed by Pergolesi from the musical group Edone` piano, violin, cello, soprano and contralto. Magnificent. The proceeds go towards the conservation of this architectural jewel.

An ancient church, a wonderful cloister and in summer the gastronomic initiative alternates with musical evenings. Definitely worth visiting!

Un posto magico,incantevole e celestiale dove si mangia quello che passa il convento e si mangia Da Dio !!!!!

Luogo incantato sui colli bolognesi,ho assistito ad un concerto con pianoforte,violino e corno antico suonato da grandi professionisti.

Luogo molto suggestivo. Conservato benissimo. In estate vengono eseguiti concerti.

Bellissimo e affascinante. Un piccolo gioiello di architettura sacra in un ambiente naturale quieto e lussureggiante, pazientemente recuperato da volontari che ne fanno la cornice di suggestivi eventi musicali. Meriterebbe maggior attenzione da parte delle Istituzioni, locali e non.
