We spent most of the day here, the price is ridiculously high and the pool isn't even heated. The self proclaimed 'Italian stallion' who has a big poster of himself, carrys out a stupid display pretending to be Hassleoff on unexpecting female tourists climbing from a roof then diving into the pool carrying out the rescue and pretending to revive them. Very cringey and embarrassing to watch. Loud music playing not at all relaxing. The Italian stallion? also had his cronies making lots of noise. The guy clearly loves himself. Such a shame as the place is in a lovely setting and people don't want to hear this. Stop the stupid display and create a relaxing lovely experience for tourist .

We stayed for several days in Varenna, initially we went to the Lido in the next town along as it looked a little better (from the website), on the third (and fourth) day we went to this place and it was fantastic. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and mostly fluent in English (not always the case in Italy). We felt very welcome there and the food was fantastic. Service could be a little slow, but it was busy, no problems there. Really nice setting, fantastic food and very friendly staff. We will visit again

We were 3 Americans visiting at the end of June/early July 2019. Our AirBnB host told us the Sporting Club was recently renovated and had just reopened, but she didn't know more about it. I emailed the club a couple of times before our trip to inquire about day passes, and never received a response. We called when we were in town staying in Varenna, and were told day passes for non-members were not available until mid-July. Their website has so little information, I wanted to post this here - definitely call for info when you're in town. We would have happily paid the fees to go! Looked like a nice pool with beautiful views.

Sporting Club Olivedo is an absolute gem! With its stunning front lake view of Lago Di Como, fantastic pool, and direct lake entrance, it's a must-visit destination. The staff, especially Stefano, go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. If you're in Varenna or Como, don't miss out on this wonderful place! It really is the most beautiful place on Lake Como.

Stephano was very helpful and kind with a cheerful attitude. It was a great day to spend in Varenna (€30 euros day pass) by the pool with a view of the lake. Includes sun bed, pool access, shower / changing room access and towel hire. It is 4 stars instead of 5 because the pool isn’t heated and non members had to lie down at the back rather than at the front of the lake.

Very nice restaurant that is somewhat spared from the tourist crowds. The food is great and of course the ambience too. The best location to end the day comfortably in Varenna. Food is a bit expensive, but that's also what makes the location special.
