😠 The worst aperol spritz I've ever had! Located right on the piazza, this bar is a true "tourist trap." The server insisted we pay our bill as soon as he put our drinks down. The aperol spritz was mostly water and the aperitif snacks were stale. There are far better places to get a drink nearby in Qu... Super poor quality. Bad staff , the location is great but the food is probably frozen, so not recommended for food (or nothing lol) even the toilets (reason why I ended up there coz I really needed it after drinking a lot of water due to heat) were messed. Not recommended at all!

Location is great. We were there for a drink but we didn’t manage to order anything… the rude waiter told us the would take our order in 20’… incredible for a location like that to be manage so badly by incompetent staff

Worst espresso in Bologna, not to mention the bartender attitude who was rude and grumpy. I guess the only good thing about it is location. It is great that there are many other places around the city center which makes the overall experience of being in Bologna just perfect by their own example of what customer service and quality of food and drinks should be.

It would be great if this pleased everyone but realistically you pay extra for the location and in fact not more than some others with no view or sunshine. Our waiter was friendly and probably too few for the number of people which makes it tough for them. My aperol spritz were ok, didn't eat food, but honestly in tourist central I would unfortunately expect much. I totally recommend coming here though as a drink or two in the sun and some people watching. Don't complain just enjoy. I do have to agree the toilets were terrible but imagine there are a lot of walk ins and priority not given to this...

I had the worst experience of my life with them. We asked if we can sit at a table and the answer was yes. We waited 15mins at the table and after that the waiter told us to have a little bit of patience. After another 15mins he came at me and told me that they are closed, at 7PM, when another persons just received their orders. Do you a favor and just keep your a$$ away of that place.

Very very very bad experience!! We were waiting to order two cappuccinos for like half an hour. All the waiters were saying "in a minute" all the time. Finally one came and when we wanted to order, he said they don't serve coffee outside. With an attitude... Not worthy all the sun and location!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!

Dont waste your time here, coffee is expensive and not good. I had stomach problems so I did not order coffee, only my girlfriend predreferendovej capuccino and waiter started to be rude as soon as je found out that I will not order anything, they killed the charm of location.

Hello , usually I’m not writing But after what one of the waiters did to us i have to say she need to change her job or her attitude. After a long time i invited my friends from different countries to visit italy and she was so rude to us Just im gonna ask a simple question Is that okey for her if is happen somthing similar for herself. People came to bologna to enjoy and they known italian as a kind people this is not the way that waiters talking to client and people Im not getting to Detail but i hope this content gonna help the quality of your bar

Absolutely terrible service. We waited for an age to not be served and ended up leaving . Do not waste your time here, there are so many other beautiful places in Bologna to get a drink, and at half the price.

Awful place - incredibly rude staff, left after 45 minutes waiting for someone to take our order, despite asking someone to serve us twice. Expensive - €8 for an Aperol. Don’t waste your time or money!

Don’t even go there ! If I could give them a zero or minus 10, I would. Absolute disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves! Keep away! They are rude, obnoxious and the coffee / pastries were nothing to write about! They are a shame to Italy and Italians! They do not like people on food tours who have vouchers. They shouted at us and said that we can’t sit and have our coffee even though we bought pastries from them. All because we were on a food tour and our vouchers were apparently only good for take away coffee. The way that they spoke to us and shouted at us in public was appalling and extremely rude ! We will report them to the company that organised the food tour

Ok bar in the shade of the columns, good crème brûlée, decent coffee. Half expected it to be a tourist trap because of the location but the prices are more or less comparable to what you get in the area.

Great bar and great service! Must come in the evening to enjoy the cathedral views with a glass of nice cold wine.

A really nice location for a meal or just a drink. We stopped for a light lunch and had a table right on the edge of the portico. The food was very good (prosciutto e melone, insalata), and the wait staff was on it as well. Drinks were served and nothing was missed on the order. The location is excellent to linger as well being right on Piazza Maggiore and, being a few steps up, a good view of the world passing by. Prices are a little high due to the location, but if you are making time for la dolce vita, this is a good spot.

I was there 4 times during the 8 days visit. It is one of the most beautiful spot's in Bologna. The service was always nice and polite. Great wine and coffee!

Had a small breakfast here, included in my room booking. Cappuccino was great! Had a warm croissant also. Staff was very nice!

Over priced. And wouldn’t let us sit down even though we paid €4 for a Coke. The server was a complete jerk too. Couldn’t ask us nicely to leave. Waist of money and wouldn’t give this place the time of day. The most horrible experience we have ever had in Italy. Wish I couldn’t give it 0 stars.

Prices are a bit high, but the beautiful view makes up for it. The Tiramisu is tasty but not the best I've ever had.

Bar Vittorio Emanuele is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a great atmosphere and delicious drinks and snacks in Bologna. The bar is located in a beautiful historic building and has a classic vibe that is both elegant and welcoming. The Aperol Spritz at Bar Vittorio Emanuele is one of the best I've had in the city. The drink is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness and bitterness. It's the perfect drink to sip on while relaxing and taking in the beautiful surroundings. In addition to the great drinks, Bar Vittorio Emanuele also serves tasty Taralli, which are small, savory snacks that are perfect for nibbling on while enjoying a drink. The service at Bar Vittorio Emanuele is also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who are happy to provide recommendations or answer any questions. The bar is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of seating available both inside and outside. Overall, Bar Vittorio Emanuele is a fantastic spot to enjoy a refreshing Aperol Spritz and tasty Taralli in a beautiful and historic setting. With great service and a welcoming atmosphere, this bar is definitely worth a visit when in Bologna.

We had the most amazing time, twice this summer. Some might say its a little expensive, but for the view and the oh so sweet waiters its worth it. We were here when the film festival hit the piazza, and it just made the experience that much more magical.

It doesn't make sense that it would be enough in the best location in Bologna. It has 2 stars rating There is a mistake, sitting here and enjoying the city center is enough,,, unfortunately there is something wrong with the staff very jovial and kind

We were at the bar for 3 days straight. The location is pretty sweet. I would recommend to go for a drink and a panini. Staff is not the fastest but it's a busy bar at the center of the city.

Great location, but perhaps the worst Aperol Spritz I've had (extremely diluted - I doubt there was any Prosecco in there, and probably just enough Aperol to give the color...)

Good place to eat/drink with a nice view in the sun. The food and drinks were amazing. The staff is very friendly (Eugenie/Rosella). We fully recommand!

Great view and nice service, however it’s a bit slow when busy and the toilets are gross!

Great location to sit on the terrace for a coffee or aperitif.

The bad review is mostly due to the incredibly rude waiter, my family took 3 extra seconds to decide what coffee to ask for and he started impatiently eyerolling, grunting and huffing They only had 2 types of cornetti for breakfast which, again, when asked, the waiter angrily mentioned "marmellata o senza" (=jam or without) - obviously always in italian.
