Great apartment just a few minutes walking from the old town area. Full kitchen in the apartment. Laundry is available in the basement. The only negative for us was that check in wasn’t smooth. We confirmed before arrival that we could drop our bags off as we were arriving at 12:30 and check in is not allowed until 2:00pm. I won’t get into all the details but all the lockers were full in the storage area and even though our room was actually ready it took a lot of convincing to get them to allow us to simply drop the bags in the room. Front desk staff was not friendly in this interaction but we did get some help from what I believe was the cleaning manager. We wasted 45 minutes trying to figure out this situation.

If you are looking for a hotel in Bologna, Italy, Almarossa is definitely the place to stay. Despite its small and strange reception and entrance, don't let that deceive you. This hotel has the most amazing rooms compared to any other hotel in the city. I've stayed in many hotels in Bologna, and I can confidently say that Almarossa is by far the best. The room we got was an apartment-style setup with a spacious kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The ACs in all the rooms and the windows provided a perfect balance of fresh air and sunlight. What I loved about this hotel was that the kitchen was fully equipped with all the essential supplies such as plates, knives, and forks, making our stay even more comfortable. The service at Almarossa is top-notch. The receptionist was incredibly helpful and even sent us a WhatsApp message to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. She even assisted us in booking a van to take us to the airport early the next morning. Overall, I highly recommend Almarossa for anyone looking for a fantastic hotel experience in Bologna. The rooms are beyond fantastic, the service is excellent, and the location is ideal. I will undoubtedly stay here again during my next visit to Bologna, and I suggest you do the same!

Clean and large room with kitchen, though the floors were kind of a cheap plasticky surface. Large bed and wardrobes. Windows face a busy street but it was not too loud during the day. There is free laundry and self-service luggage lockers offered to guests in the basement of the building. Basic but functional enough for our needs. Feels more like a souped up hostel vibe than a true hotel, which is fine but just temper your expectations. Location is ok - it's close to the main University of Bologna area, which we learned doesn't actually have a true campus in the US/UK sense, while a bit of a hike to the city center of Bologna (15-20mins).

We enjoyed our stay at Almarossa, although it was only for one night. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. In a great location. Easy to enter after reception closed. Staff helpful.

We stayed in a very well maintained apartment that had everything we needed for a great 10 night stay. Very well located on the university side of town and a quick walk to the historic centre and to the central train station. Super convenient little grocery store just next store and a couple of laundry machines in the basement. Would absolutely stay at Almarossa again.

Very good located Almarossa is an amazing B&b in Bologna. Very cleans and cozy. The staff is nice and kind… this is my fav place in Bologna (more than the best hotels in town) You have locker and washing machines available

I recently stayed here last week. I had the BEST experience! The staff are amazing! Clarissa and the other girl were always SO nice and helpful!! They helped order taxis or my car service for the airport! They were always happy to help. If you need more coffee, etc! The rooms are stylish and so nice. I stayed in a one bedroom and a studio. Both were SO nice! Everything is very Clean. I love having a kitchen. Coffee in the morning. I ordered their breakfasts-which gets delivered to your room when you want. Bathrooms both were super nice. Great showers. Great location. Pharmacy and store right next to you if you need to pop out and get something. I highly recommend this hotel.

Nice, clean rooms. I was scared in the beginning because websites mentioned the location as dangerous but 3 nights I returned after midnight and had no problem. Regarding the 3 star4 on the service it has nothing to do with the people working on the hotel. The 3 stars has to do with the fact that the reception is not there 24/7 which creates problems if you face any issues. They provide you though with a WhatsApp number that you can contact at any time!

Love the Almarossa. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The location is great--very convenient to seeing the main sites of Bologna. And the staff is wonderful. High recommend making the Almarossa your base in Bologna!

A well maintained property that gets a lot of the basic right. Friendly and accommodating staff. The main reason for the 3 stars is because of the traffic noise and the limited sound insulation. It gets better on higher floors, but it’s still audible unless your room faces the internal courtyard only.

We had a reservation for a group of friends for this weekend and unfortunately due to an airport strike the whole group has been unable to travel. The property did not accept our cancelation and is not refunding us any of the cost. We think this is really unfair and that the property should have offered another compensation (they just offered to try and sell the room and in case there are other customers, they offer a voucher for 70% of the cost of the night). This is ridiculous compensation and very unlikely to happen. I think the property should think that tourists go to Bologna to spend money and with professionals like this we do not expect to rearrange any trip to Bologna never ever again. This strike is out of our control and not our fault at all...

Nice people and room in the university area. The room is well insulated from the street but you will still hear the sounds of the city. I am a lite sleeper but had no problems.

I would rather consider it a very good (5/5) 3-star hotel. Everything was perfect for that! Especially loved daily coffee pods. Not quite there with 4-stars.

I enjoyed staying here a lot. Good value for the price. Easy to check-in and checkout. Room very spacious and clean. Huge breakfast, kitchen and utensils very useful, and always tidy. 18 minute walk to the center e.g. Piazza Maggiore. Grocery store very close.

Easy check-in and out! Stefano was very accommodating and helpful. We will stay here again. The location is very close to the main part of Bologna while passing through some fun areas with bars, restaurants and shops.
