We took their cooking class and had an amazing time making pasta, tortellini, tortellini, and tagliatelle. The teachers were charming and so knowledgeable. They even printed out recipes for us to take home. Highly recommended!

What an amazing tour! The food tasting was delicious. How can you go wrong with fresh pasta? And the cuts of meat. Delicious. Love learning about this underrated City with our wonderful tour guide Francesco. I’m so glad despite our flight fiasco coming in we made it in time (ok about 10 min late!) for this food tour! Appreciate Francesco waiting for us and got to meet the loveliest people in our group. My only regret is I wish I could have stayed longer in Bologna to experience more! Would love to do a cooking class! My tortellini skills are lacking. -“Kay”

What a fun morning tasting and learning about the food from the Bologna region while meeting new friends from around the world. We usually do not like to take guided tours but this was terrific!

Really, really lovely tour. Our guide was wonderful, it was a small intimate group setting and the perfect amount of walking, good pace, and so many interesting stops. The food was DELICIOUS and so generous! We were SO full but in the best way. Perfect way to spend a morning in Bologna -- if you are on the fence, I highly recommend. It really felt like we'd done so much by the end of the tour but we still had several hours left in the day. Perfect way to kick off our Bologna visit as it also helped us understand the layout of the city as well.

Amazing food tour with Taste Bologna! I could not recommend the company more. Every place Maria took us to was amazing and we ended up going back to them all over our few days in Bologna. She was so informative, engaging and knowledgable and we had such a fun few hours with her.

After taking us to a fascinating mosaic workshop, Silvia showed us many interesting sites in Ravenna today. She gave excellent explanations of the the mosaics in the Mausoleum and the Basilica of Saint Vitale. We also had a couple of stops for local food and wine and a wide ranging discussion comparing our lives. We greatly enjoyed our tour.

This food tour was a great way to taste and learn about authentic Bolognese cuisine! Our leader, Valentina, was lovely and gave us lots of history about Bologna (having grown up there) and shared insider tips for places to visit during our stay. Thank you!

My wife and I have been traveling all our lives, and we rarely leverage tours. I’m so glad we made an exception. I was drawn in by Andrea’s excellent and quality content blog. Excellent observations about Bologna, other towns in Emilia-Romagna, and other places as well (we found a post on Venice that was super helpful). As we hoped, the tour matched up with the approach and tone of the blog, and it was fantastic to get in-depth, “behind the scenes” info. Lisa, the tour guide in Parma, was excellent, friendly, had an excellent command of English, French, and Portuguese, and was extremely knowledgeable about the food and the are. HIGHLY recommended.

My Classic Taste Bologna tour yesterday was fabulous. Our guide was excellent in her sharing of information, ideas and organisation. Every stop was unique and it was great to hear the background story. The size of servings of ‘tastings’ was great and gave an opportunity to really try something new or different. Lunch in the Osteria was a great experience and there was so much food provided! My take home bag of leftover bread and ‘biscuits’ was sufficient for my dinner that night. I returned today to the amazing creameria for another serve of delicious, creamy ice cream, despite it being just 7C!! This tour met and exceeded my expectations - many thanks!

Our chef instructor was very knowledgeable and patient with the guests of all abilities. He was inclusive of everyone, allowing everyone to partake in the process of making all of the components. The timing of the class was well paced. I would have liked to learn how to roll the dough out with the rolling pin but, I certainly understand that with a class of 8 it would have been too time consuming. I would love to do a private lesson with your chef next time that I am in Bologna.

Maria was outstanding! Usually when you see this many 5 star reviews , it could be suspicious. But they are all well- earned. Definitely worth the time and money. You will learn about Bologna history and taste amazing food. Bravo!

A great tour led by wonderful Loredana. We heard interesting stories, had delicious tastings (great variety of tastes) starting with coffee through fresh market goods and wrapping up with amazing ice cream. Loredana was patient and pleasant with a lot of knowledge, and gave us some recommendations upon requests for the surroundings. Great value for money!!!

Wonderful tour for a taste of food, wine and some history of Bologna. Very accommodating for food allergies. Small group setting allows for some great conversation while tasting. Sara was such a wonderful guide and I would highly recommend this tour to anybody visiting Bologna!

Fantastic tour, great way to experience the food and the city! We were so full for the rest of the day, so although the tour isn’t cheap, the price is well justified!! We would recommend to anyone, our only regret is not doing it earlier in our stay as they give you great tips on where to eat and drink in Bologna and other dishes to try whist you are there.

Not just Bologna, Parma too!!!! Nothing but glowing reviews for our full day tour of the Parma food area with Lisa. If you love a fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable guide who has amazing English skills then this tour is for you. From real experiences on Parmesan Reggiano, Parma Prosciutto and Balasmic, along with a fab local style lunch in a hillside Osteria to remember, everything was great. Thanks to Andrea and Lisa for giving us a day to remember.

Marco was our tour guide and did such a fabulous job on our Bologna food tour! He picked such great stops to have our food tour tastings ! He also provided some bits of history that were so interesting to know… He was very personable and made us feel like we knew him forever! He was wonderful! Highly highly recommend Marco

Such a great experience! Marco was the best tour guide. So nice and not only provided us with the best foods, but also gave us a bunch of history and fun facts that only a local could provide. He offered up tips and spots to go as well for those who had additional time left in Bologna. The tavern was my favorite spot to get a sense of the locals. Don’t miss out!

We had an incredible time on our Bologna food tour! Our guide, Benedetta, was fantastic taking us around to all the amazing food the city has to offer. Cannot recommend this company and tour enough-- one of the highlights of our trip to Emilia-Romagna!

Francesco our guide was fantastic from start to finish. 8 is the group number which is a perfect size for the tour. Francesco was very knowledgeable and happy to share plenty of cooking tips and ideas for us to cook at home! We felt very full after the tour… food, food and more food! A perfect way to see central Bologna, and also a nice mixture of city history and some guiding around some of the key central market areas and buildings. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Do not hesitate to book!

We spent a wonderful morning with Barbara learning about many of the traditional foods of Parma. Our tour included access to local food shops where we got to meet the owners and sample family recipes. Barbara’s rapport with the owners and her knowledge of the cuisine made for a richer experience than we would have had on our own. We highly recommend it!

Great tour!! Got to explore some gems we definitely could not have found on our own. The coffee in particular was one of the best things I've tasted in this delicious country. The pacing was excellent, and our guide was knowledgable and fun! Recommended!

A great introduction to the "fat one". All the stops were truly local, it felt like an old Italian movie. Sacha the guide was knowledgeable, kind and patient, and made this trip a true delight.

Byzatina was amazing. We enjoyed our tour! It was also nice to sit and have a meal with other English-speaking visitors.

This is an ideal way to experience the traditional cuisine of Bologna, and to get a general feel of the more popular areas of the city. In fact, I have been on the tour twice, and the experience was wonderful both times. The guides are friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. Highly recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your stay in Bologna to become acquainted with the city!

I went on the Modena one and it was a highlight for me. The mixture of food knowledge and history facts was perfect. Plenty of stops to sit and take a rest. The pace was great too, time just flew by. Caterina was also great at discussing covid policies and allergies at the beginning of the tour which I appreciated. She also had great recommendations for after the tour. Worth the money with the knowledge and amount of food you get to try!

We had a great time with Francesco. He shared so much information about the city of Bologna and the food was amazing. They were accommodating to us having two kids with us and made sure they had hot chocolate to start instead of a coffee. Highly recommend!!

What an incredible tour! Our guide, Francesco, shared such detailed knowledge about the food, culture, and history of Bologna and the Emilia Romagna region. I was also very pleased with the amount of food provided - you will certainly not leave hungry! I can't think of a better way to learn about this wonderful city and would highly, highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

Why can we only rate 5 stars? We had a great time. First of all a big shout out to Andrea for helping us this last minute to get a tour in Modena. So thank you. And then our guide, oh my oh my. Giulia was absolutely the best guide, food lover and Modena knower to have. Very enthusiastic and passion for the food and town. Thank you for all the laughter and wisdom. We really appreciated all the additional tips. Of course also very important, all the stops we went to were amazing. If you are in Modena, please go on this tour! To learn about their history and about their delicious food.

We loved the Classic Food tour of Bologna! The food was remarkable, and so much of it! All enhanced by information on the background of the foods of the region as well as the history of Bologna shared by our knowledgeable guide. The whole experience was a treat and cannot be recommended enough.

Tour was great! Loved that it was a small group so we could get a more personal experience. The places our guide took us to were super fun, local spots that we definitely wouldn't have found on our own. Highly recommend!

I was hesitant to do a food tour, thought we could do it ourselves... but my husband and I signed up for the Modena food tour and it was a highlight of our trip! Loredana was so kind and insightful! We toured and learned at the market about food and HISTORY which was beautiful, tasted so much goodness and had an impressive balsamic tasting. It went long but it's Italy :)

Silvia was a wonderful and generous guide. It was great to get the history of Ravenna and the mosaics were wonderful. Food and wine were also excellent. Our children bought us a voucher to Taste Bologna for my birthday and what a great gift.

We had a wonderful food tour with Taste Bologna on October 21. Our guide was well informed and brought the city to life. They explained the evolution of the eating experiences in the city and the uniqueness of the food shopping in the Quadrilatero. We got to try making our own tortellini and tasted many of the local specialties within an historic local wine bar. Highly recommend booking your own experience with Taste Bologna.

We took the Modena Tour and it was wonderful. Lauri was a great guide, the tastings were very interesting and delicious, and the balsamic vinegar was incredible. Only a one hour train ride from Florence. Highly recommended!
