Great place to visit if you are a gin lover or wanna try something a little bit new / different. Free tastings of the gins they sell. They also have gin tasting nights. Really cute little shop, he had the history of the business, a refill station for the locals to refill their gin, gin glasses and souvenirs. Staff were lovely and friendly. Nice to have a chat about gin and a taster.

Went for a quick look around the Gin shop and we are extremely glad we did. A lady approached us and offered us some samples of the gin they have, you could either have it neat, with tonic water or lemonade. The staff were all knowledgeable of the gins they were selling and very nice. We were giving 2 samples of the gin after agreeing for them to take some photos for advertising and my partner brought himself a big bottle.

Highly recommended. Great shop with great service. You can get free samples by the way to taste. Very helpful staff. Lovely quaint shop very close to the Shambles. Prices are not cheap though at £40 but a very good present / souvenir for your trip to York. My favourite was Old Tom having sampled a few of the others.

York Gin was by far my favourite store in York. The staff were unbelievable, didn't feel pressured in buying anything and were offered tastes of the gin. The quality of all the products is just so high. The gin is £39 for a 70cl bottle but it is 10000% worth the price!

Cannot fault this shop at all! We spent two days in York with our dog and, after seeing York Gin's Instagram page, I knew they allowed dogs in the shop. We were greeted straight away and a lovely member of the team welcomed us and asked if she could pet our dog, which we obviously allowed and started a conversation about our trip. As we chatted away to her, we browsed over their lovely displays and she invited us to have a few samples, which we thought was a really nice touch. We enjoyed two or three tasters and they were all lovely! Another member of staff made her way over to give our dog some attention and joined in our conversation too. She asked if she could take his photo for their instagram page and, as we purchased a lovely gift set, the dog posed for a photo! All in all, our York Gin experience was amazing - the staff there, the gin itself and the shop are all 5*! The fact that they are super dog-friendly is just an added bonus! Will definitely be back when we return to York!

Popped in by total chance, was greeted by Guy who was really lovely and helpful. I had a look round, the bottles were beautiful and there were great gift ideas. I asked Guy to sample some of the "Mad Alice Bloody Orange Gin". On first sample I didn't get on with the tonic so he offered some slimline which was much better. The gin was outstanding. Some other customers were also mentioning how much they liked the products when I went to pay. I don't usually treat myself to a more expensive premium brand but it was so worth it. The customer service and attention to detail was spot on. Thanks Guy!

We visited York Gin while on a recent holiday. All three members of staff that we met, were helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. We have to give a special mention to Kitty, who took us through tastings of the whole range of gins and was very insightful and knowledgeable about each gin, the botanicals used, ideal parings and garnish and even cocktail suggestions. She made the whole experience a fun time and we left enthusiastic about the Gin range and happy with our purchase that she helped us select based on our tastes. We look forward to coming back!

Brilliant Was in York as a tourist from Gloucester and only for a couple of days. Stopped in York Gin and Kitty the staff member was so nice and helpful. Not too pushy and allowed us to try several gin flavours and we ended up buying two bottles. One was the really good Outlaw Navy strength (so nice). We were trying to see as much of York as possible in a short time and Kitty gave us some pointers plus a street map that was better than the usual tourist ones.

Having discovered this distillery online a few months ago, this place was on my “must do” list on our day trip to York. This shop is an excellent place, with friendly and knowledgeable staff able to explain the different gins available to buy and taste. Each of the spirits were delicious, and we treated ourselves to three: the aromatic Old Tom, the Roman Fruit and the not-too-sweet Rhubarb. It was great that they could look after the purchase, to save us from carrying bottles around all day. Something tells me this will not be the last time - we want to try the Spiced Apple one next time we’re in the city (or order online if we can’t wait that long!!)

Great Gin shop in the heart of York. Staff amazing , helpful , friendly and professional.. tough decision on which one to choose , opted for a bottle of the Roman Fruit , quick sample in the shop was a very helpful tool in making my decision. Great idea to be able to take your empty bottle back to the shop and refill for considerably less money. All in all well worth a visit !!

Just been to York for 2 day mini break. Hubby booked a tasting session for us but unfortunately York Gin had to cancel. They couldn't have been nicer, gave us a discount on the goodies we purchased & invited us to visit their York Gin Bar-part of the York Food festival, (where we also received a discount on our drinks purchased there). Sandie who served us in the shop was extremely knowledgeable and all of the staff were super friendly. Fantastic customer service here 👏 We tried the new York Gin Bloody Orange and it was delicious - will be our next purchase! Thank you everyone - we will definitely order online until the next time we are in York when we will pop back and see you all. Please open a York Gin shop in Romsey, Hampshire 😁

Kitty was super friendly. She helped us decide which gin we liked by giving us samples of each one. She also recommended some cocktails. We weren't made to feel rushed or that there was any obligation to buy anything which was great. The gin we got in the end was lush! A bottle of Rhubarb and a bottle of a Halloween limited edition called Mad Alice. Very nice indeed.

Most definitely my favourite shop in York is the York Gin shop, not only do they make the best and my favourite gins, they have an incredible team of knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful staff who offer tastings of their exquisite gins. It all makes for a fantastic enjoyable experience. You get such an amazing warm welcome as soon as you walk through the door. I so highly recommend.

Popped in to the shop to have a look around, we tasted a few different gins with a lady that was really kind and helpful, no sales pressure at all. The gin is so nice I could have got all but settled on two, the chocolate orange one and the out law. If your in York and you like gin you must go.

Went into York gin city centre shop yesterday, staff are always super friendly and very welcoming! I didn’t catch the name of the lady who served me but she went above and beyond to recommend a mixer for their Mediterranean Lemon Gin, she also gave me some recommendations on frozen lemon slices to serve with the gin. Overall and as always a fantastic experience from the great staff in this lovely shop! Thank you so much.

Incredible Gin, incredible staff! When we came asking for the Gin-tasting happening that same evening, they kindly squeezed the two uf us in, so we were able to enjoy all the delicious varieties of Gin they have to offer. Sadly they had run out of our favourite (Outlaw) but advised us to check out the station store the other day, where Candice, who was one of the hosts, would be working. When we went there the store was sadly closed so we went back to their main store and Candice had actually arranged for one bottle of 'Outlaw' to be brought over since she wasn't feeling well and couldn't be at the station shop. Thanks so much for being so forthcoming, helpful and great fun at the tasting. We can only recommend getting a bottle of this amazing Gin and even pop into the shop and have a look around.

On our way to Scotland we made a stop over in York. We should have stayed longer! What a lovely city. Just before hopping in our car again we stopped at York Gin. Super friendly staff with an energetic will to promote their gins in such a colourful and humorous language that you can’t help but stay for a rather extended tasting and eventually shopping. Fantastic.

M not a gin fan ,but still visited with friends. It's a beautiful Shop. Many options available with samal and big sizes. Other than him you can find some special jams, liquor glasses, etc. Must visit. I managed to click some beautiful clicks here.

We did the gin tasting with Ben/ Candice and absolutely loved it! Really knowledgable, very generous tastings and a brilliant time all round! Lovely gin, we got a 10% off voucher which we used to full advantage! Would recommend 100%

An amazing tasting session with Fiona.. she was so helpful and made our travels more enjoyable. Fiona even shared some cool facts about York and her own favourite types of gin/mixer. Absolutely awesome experience!

My best experience in York last week! Thank you Alex! Highly recommend to check out York Gin when you visit York. We had gin tasting with Alex and really enjoy it. Love all the flavours, even my pup loves it.

Friendly staff that have time to talk about the gin brewing process and their approach. Tasters are available if you like as well. Interesting flavours including using Hibiscus and Earl Grey. Prices reasonable for craft gin as well.

Went into the shop and it seemed a little busy whilst a group had tastings and others coming in, came back in later. The second time coming back really wanting a tasting I saw one group getting a tasting so waited a little bit then noticed 2 other sets of customers be approached by another worker and myself actively ignored. The gin was nice and bought the trio pack. Only reason I wouldn’t give 5 is because I felt a little dismissed.

We went to York on June 1st for my husband's birthday. We stumbled across the shop, and, I am so glad we did. Not only is the store beautifully set out and eye catching, the ladies (and their tiaras) went above and beyond for every customer on a very busy day! I have yet to try my gin because I know I will want to drive three hours to have the experience again. We are planning a return after our Pagan handfasting later the October so I hope you have plenty of hampers available

Dropped in today with my wife. Super friendly staff offered free tasting with no sales pressure. A great range of smooth yet rich and full flavoured gins. Will definitely call on again

Lovely surprise stumbling across this shop after an amble down the shambles. Firstly it’s in a stunning building - worth a photo stop in its own right. The ladies working in their were very knowledgeable & friendly, enabling us to have a couple of cheeky tasters before buying our favourites. Their gins are award winning for a reason - they’re bloody nice!!
