Had an amazing experience at the Shambles Market. So much to see and shop. Really aesthetic streets. The shops are cute and the shop owners are really friendly. Definitely recommend the hot dogs and coffees at the market. Check out the Harry Potter merchandise stores. Definitely recommend and will go again. 😍

Definitely worth a trip here, but it does get very busy!! Lots of great shops and boutiques, some very unique and quirky ones! I love the architecture and the history of the area! There are guides who will walk you about giving you the history. The food area is great with plenty of choice and seating areas. The market stalls are as fab and unique as the shops and are well worth wandering about having a browse.

Our first time here. Loved every minute of it. It was very busy when we visited this could be due to it being a bank holiday but it added to the atmosphere. Would love to come back again.

So. Much. FUN! This is a don't-miss experience in York. We visited the crepe cart 3x during our 3 night stay (and would especially recommend the Nutella/strawberries/hazelnut combo... YUM!)!! You can spend as much or as little time and money in this area as you like - so many varied storefronts in the area surrounding the actual market, there definite something for everyone!

My family and I loved to be there during Christmas time, it's such a beautiful place to visit and have a good time with your loved ones. Craft market, food and drinks all around, places that offer so many good things that is difficult to decide.

Quaint, bustling little place with so much on offer. From confectionery to Harry Potter themed shops, it is truly an enchanting atmosphere. The old, well maintained buildings give a nod to past times and it does feel like walking through a chapter of a novel set in the Victorian era.

Lovely 'shambling' buildings and cobblestone lanes take you back. Some really nice shops and lots of freehouses. The food court area has some delicious offerings.

I've wanted to visit this place for quite a while and finally did during the festive season. The market was quite lit, literally and the display of lights added to the fairytale vibe this place is known for.

Enjoyed the market with all the stalls set up for Xmas, with a large choice of Xmas gifts, mulled wine, spiced cider, hot chestnuts, to name a few, and all within the locality of 'The Shambles' where the road is so narrow where allegedly people on opposite sides of the road can lean out of their windows and shake hands

Beautiful ancient buildings surrounded by a gloomy ghosting look. Had a lot of halloween decorations and items to buy for quite reasonable prices. Loved the long walks in endless streets. Good time spent with new friends.

Had a lovely (albeit pretty freezing cold) few hours at the market. It was extremely busy but everyone was friendly! Tried the amazing Chicken and Calamari topped fries! Absolutely 10/10 would recommend! Also had an orange liqueur hot choc which was nice!

Wonderful place to visit, its like going back in time. Great shops, the German Christmas shop is well worth a visit. Worth visiting the Christmas Market on a Thursday as it get busy at the weekend. York minster is also a beautiful place to visit.£16 per adult.

Delicious food, amazing live music performance, and overall great vibes! It's always a joy to be here, no matter how many times you have previously visited. On weekends, it's packed, but that's when it's the most lively! There's a lot to explore here. Top 3 favorites - Chicken gyro food truck hot chocolate stand, and a small shop which sells cute enamel pins Fresh locally produced vegetables stall are available on selected days.

Absolutely fantastic place! Almost like a historical-fantasy film set, especially the alley that doubles as Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. Amazing scenery and quite lively atmosphere.

York has become a tourist dump in a big way. Harry Potter junk everywhere, too. The market is equally underwhelming. Visit the minster, see some city walls, then leave for better places elsewhere.

I would have probably given 5 stars only if I’d have been there at the right time. We were late to the party and there were only a few stalls open, but it was still a good experience. What I particularly love are the surrounding buildings. They are so old. Fascinating to look at, and to wonder how people used to live in them. Just off the market is Shambles! An awesome, narrow street full of tradition and amazing shopping. It’s quite tight though. Not recommended for people that don’t like small spaces.

This place in York was amazing, narrow streets old victorian buildings, small shops I couldn't help but think of Scrooge walking down these streets given the time of year. It was definitely a photographers paradise the easy way to explain this is see it for yourself, Amazing.

We went as part of the wider Christmas Market. Brilliant atmosphere, plenty of stalls selling a range of things. Street food, mulled drinks, hot chocolate, confectionery, gifts, and Christmas decor. Good to see the shops stayed open late, too.

Love all of York but there's something very special about the Shambles area. It's like stepping back in time to walk the same streets that have been walked for hundreds of years. Haven't been since I was 11 so it was great to return 40 years later and see how little has changed.

Beautiful local market at York. They have fruits , veggies, preloved items, posters, etc. They also have a food section where you can enjoy your lunch but Limited tables on site. York is a small city but it's quite busy during the weekend. Parking can be hard to find so we opt for NCP . York is a very walkable city so i guarantee you won't miss out this market when you explore the city.

Its a great classic market you can ever find. Its impressive how they preserve the looks of the market until now its like going back in time. There are a lots of shops and cafes all around the area and you wont get bored roaming around, truly an amazing experience really enjoyed it.

An amazing step back in time. With all the shops you can dream of accompanied by small bakeries and small businesses lining the small cobbled walk walks. It's a truly amazing place
