0 stars!! I don't understand why most people rated this with more stars. When I went their the manager was abit rude along with his wife. The room I was given was absolutely unpleasant with hair and stains on the bed sheets, floor, ealls and ceiling along with the smell of weed, I thought it was some sort of drug house. I asked the manager for a glass of water and he told me I'll need to drink water from the bathroom sink! I left immediatly. Please don't fall for the top rated reviews they are probably fake and please stay away from this guesthouse

I stayed for 3 nights at this lovely guest house. I was in Bolton to study a course. Deb is, quite simply, wonderful and makes the place feel so much more like a home from home than a sterile hotel environment with no soul. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. Her warm welcome on arrival and attention to detail is as good as any I have stayed in (and I've travelled a lot!) Breakfast was delicious. A full English, deftly prepared by either Deb or Wayne. Many full english breakfasts I've seen arrive at the table swimming in grease. Not so here. I can only speak for my room, which was on the top floor. Not that big but it WAS a single and ample room for 1 person. It was very clean, had a comfortable bed and was cleaned every day I was there. I looked at several places for my stay, including some big name places with similar prices but on my next trip to Bolton I will not go near them after staying here. The value for money at The Highgrove would be very hard to beat. Thanks for the great hospitality! See you again soon I hope....

Friendly and helpful but doesn't have everything you need good all round though staff always there to assist

I am utterly disappointed with what I got. We arrived around 8am and was given the keys but understandably the room was not ready and had a relative in the Ironman competition that day and therefore did not return until 11pm. Had I seen the room prior to this late hour I would not have even stayed there. Where do I start, items broken and dirty room….both head boards broken, broken lamp, 4 handles missing off draws, sink comes away from the wall, filthy grout around the shower and sink, what looked like blood on floor next to toilet, writing on the draws next to bed, broken blinds, unusable chair with the seat broken in half, filthy mug and spoon on tea tray, mould around the filter in kettle that resulted in all black bits pouring out in the water, dust and flakes of something in the draws, used tissues at the side of the bed, dust and debris in corners of the bathroom and along pipes. I paid £70 and would have expected this in prime area of London city centre for this price but very overpriced for what we got in that area. I read the reviews but in hindsight they are all from 2018 and early 2019 so must have deteriorated badly since then!! Room a good size but that’s the only positive. Managers of the business were friendly and very helpful but appeared rather dishevelled and unkept in appearance. Very disappointing :(

The place is good and clean but the couple in charge is a bit too noisy and don't often let you know whenever they close their kitchen as somtimes Guesses keep their stuff in the fridge. So u can sometimes end up waiting for them for long to fetch whatever is yours in the fridge. Other than that, it's a good place and clean.

Every room I stayed in was clean and spaceous , both owners are very nice and polite I stayed here for 4-5 nights I never once had a problem and would recommend to all, Thank you too both of you these are really good people.

My fave place in Bolton and the gal that runs it, Deb is fabulous! Love her. She's the reason I stay there and also it's a great location! Very clean and comfy!!

Pleasant homely accommodation .Very clean large room with tv tea and coffee making facilities in room . Deb was very welcoming and kindly arranged taxis for us .Very good value for money breakfast freshly cooked by Deb fruit juice and cereal also available . Good location and very quiet . Will certainly book again when we are in the area

TReally great place, friendly, clean, affordable. Brilliant location, ideal for the Rail and Bus station plus all the town centre. The lady who runs it is really helpful and friendly. A brilliant ambassador for a brilliant town!

Excellent little guest house run by a wonderful lady who couldn't do enough for my elderly parents during their stay, it is very clean and tidy the breakfast is wholesome and traditional.
