Great car park maintained by the Woodland trust. Car parking is free with a donation ,have to admit I don't pay every time, usually once a week as I go there nearly every day. The cafe truck is great, although I think must be shut over the colder months.

First time visiting. Arrived early to get parked for our accent up Winter hill. Plenty of parking, marked out in bays. Free parking, JUST leave a donation between £2 and £5 please, this I guess would be for maintenance and the up keep of the car park. You need to do a contact-less transaction. It's gravelled to, which makes it easy. There are gates, not sure what time they get locked. There is also a porta-cabin (toilet) if you need to go. Friendly girls in a horse box selling refreshments and hot or cold drinks, with cake as well. There is pic nic tables to use. Well worth visiting if yr staying for a few hrs.....

Car park really packed on Sunday, not large enough for all the people who wanted to walk. Parked on the road. Lovely walks though, up over the hills and back through the woods. Will try the snack van for cake and coffee next time it's less busy.

A great little walking spot, with some stunning views. Although, the masses of newly planted trees will no doubt drastically change the scenery sometime soon.

Busy carpark used as access to the paths and trails close by. Seems to constantly be busy with walkers and dog walkers. Has a great little coffee and cake trailer located on the carpark. Really friendly, had coffee, muffins and my wife a panini. Unfortunately my hellhound shaped like a beagle decided to jump head first on to the table and knock over all the coffees! The lovely people at the coffee trailer witnessed this and replaced our coffees for free (which they did not have to do). Absolutely lovely people and such an amazing place to start or finish your walk with a drink and a bite (unless you own Satan's Beagle!).

Large car park, which fills up quickly. Popular spot for dog walkers, and hikers ascending nearby Winter Hill. Maintained by the Woodland Trust. Free, but donations invited. Refreshment van serving drinks and snacks. Information boards about the surrounding area.

Free car park there is a meter for donations of which the monies raised are put back into the development of the area. Car park usually full and the land is sloped. Gives access to lots of walks some of which can get boggy especiallyin the woods near the car park. Its mostly paths and trails leading to moorlands can walk for hours but weather permitting you can see for miles.

Really nice little car park and paths. Lovely to walk aroind in the sun today. There are several tables with benches for picnics and there are a couple of benches. I noticed that there is The Cakery Bolton do retail on this car park sat and Sun 10am to 4pm. Sadly I didn't get any photos today that would give this place justice. It was nice and quiet here this afternoon about 4pm. Whilst rivington was busy. Nice little place for anyone to visit

Love walking over the moors to the Winter Hill mast. The car park is a great spot to start from, it's free (there is a machine that will take donations for Woodland Trust, but it's not mandatory) and the van called The Cakery is always a welcome treat at the end of a walk!! Volunteers can often be found at the car park, offering advice on the flora and fauna to be found on the moors.

What a beautiful picturesque spot to put a carpark. Ample generous-sized parking spaces, picnic benches allowing you to take in the views of Bolton and beyond and free WIFI. All for free although there is a discrete parking meter if you wish to offer a donation to Woodland Trust for using their facilities.

Love it, constantly changing views, weather, vegetation. Views over to North Wales, Blackpool, South lakes, Manchester. Alot of history round the estate. Currently the Woodland Trust doing a massive job of clearing diseased trees and replanting new. 👍

Car park was busy, but free and well laid out. There was a little food tent setup providing warm drinks and snacks. Plenty benches and bins too. Great base for a wander around the Bolton hills.

Free car park with a barrier that's locked when closed (see pics). There are a few bays marked disabled but they are the same as the other spaces. A couple of bins and a couple of picnic benches. Lovely views! The car park is new so no pot holes and not muddy. There is a machine to make a donation to the Woodland Trust for use of the car park, but it wasn't working 😕

Barrier too low for my people carrier so we have to come in 2 cars. Layout could have been much better to fit plenty more cars in. Looks pretty but that landscaping has taken up an awful lot of space. Cars parked on the pavements blocking pedestrian access when we got back from our walk, had to walk on the road to get around, right next to a bend.... Accident waiting to happen.
