Decent burgers! Not very special unless you buy extra topping to add. The free toppings included lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and Come Back Shack sauce, but the burger felt like it was lacking. Good fries, good sweet tea, and the ranch was excellent. Prices are not too outlandish but you can easily pay more than $10 for a meal here. Overall, 4 stars is fair and I definitely would come back!

This is a really nice place. All mobile orders. Cash only in drive thru. The food is great. Milkshakes delish. It was crowded but they have outside seating. I highly recommend this place. No alcohol.

Updated review a year later.. Moved opening time to 10:30 am which I am really glad they did. Got in line a few minutes early and was promptly open at 10:30. Food came out super quick and was hot and delicious. My blueberry shake was mid this time. Still glad I had a chance to eat there before leaving town! First review: Love the Come Back Shack in Boone... and so does everyone else! They have done a good job streamlining the process to keep the lines moving. Great hamburgers and an excellent tuna sandwich! That's our favorite that we must have while on the mountain. Had issue with order one time and they made it right as rain! We will always come back..

Pretty good burgers. Thankfully it was nice out because they were so busy we couldn't eat inside. Thankful that they were open. So many places in that area were closed

Good burgers and fries and excellent macaroni. Bun is light and breaks apart a little too easily. Parking adequate and there is a drive thru. Not fast but still reasonable time.

I finally understand why there is a line stopping traffic to get into the place, and yes...it is worth the wait to get in. Love the burgers. They are juicy and perfectly seasoned. You can have them topped the way you like. Love the Nathan’s hot dog. It is cooked crispy and topped with several toppings to choose from. I added almost everything. The hand cut French fries are cooked perfect. Some are then and crunchy, some are thick and soft in the middle. All are nicely seasoned. The milkshakes are thick and creamy. I can’t wait to “Come Back!”

4.5 stars. I took off half a star because we ordered the snack pack of chicken tenders The menu states 4 tenders. We got three. Hubby went back for the other tender and was told that an order can be three or four, depending on the weight.. not what the menu states. That aside, I love this place. Very pup friendly. They even gave my dog a pup cup, which is adored. The staff is always very friendly as well. Yes, it can get expensive. A burger is about $8 and if you get fancy fries that's $6 and a drink is $2.. so that's up there for a burger... BUT it's local and excellent quality. These days Wendy's will run you $12-15 and this place is way better. We love it and the pup loves it. 💖 Tip... Try to go on the off house. Peak lunch and dinner times are very busy. We went at 1:30 and sat and ate right away. No waiting.

Great food. I love that they can turn anything into a lettuce wrap. Management appear to treat their employees better than the usual fast food restaurant. There is a designated area where staff can sit down and take a break. My complaint is that you can only order online. There is no person-to-person ordering option. This wouldn't be so bad if their location wasn't a deadzone. One of their very helpful staff came around and handed out tablets for us to order and that solved things :)

What a great place for a delicious burger and shake! Not sure I'm totally sold on having to order on my phone or on the kiosk but it works. I'm sure it's fine for the younger crowd but I'm catching on. The sweet potato chips were good and I don't even like sweet potatoes. I had an original burger and seasoned fries and a chocolate peanut butter shake that was great.

I got the local burger and it was delicious! My sister got the come back shack burger and loved that. The burgers aren’t greasy and they taste amazing! The fries are yummy and so is the Nutella milkshake. Also, love their chicken tenders. Definitely going back to this place!

My wife and I stopped by for lunch during a recent mountain trip. The burgers were good, the fries and sweet potato chips were really good, and the milkshakes were excellent. They have ample outdoor seating and each outdoor table has directions for ordering and pickup a QR code linking straight to the mobile ordering site. I think it's a fantastic way of managing their extremely busy order load. Parking could be a challenge at peak lunch time; they have a paved lot next to the restaurant and a gravel lot (where we parked) right next to the main lot, and we still watched plenty of cars struggle to find a space. I would recommend the grocery store lot just up the hill in that case.

Come back shack was recommended by my brother and it did not disappointed. A true home made burger, we went for a second time before we left, that's how good it was. Great outdoor seating and the perfect self-service.

A great burger joint that's well worth your time. This place was packed, but food arrived quickly at the kiosk set to the side of the soda machine. I ordered the original shack burger and porky fries. Absolutely loved the burger and how smokey it tasted. The porky fries were great as they were loaded with pulled pork and sauce. Each bite was such a treat and well worth a stop while in Boone.

Hot Dang Delicious!! The burger was slap your mouth high five, the ranch fries were out of this world, and the Buckeye milkshake was the icing on the cake, no seriously. We drove two hours to eat here, I’ll be back once a month for sure.

Comeback burger did not disappoint! Added an extra patty, cheese, pickles and extra comeback sauce makes it better! Super tasty and fulfilling and the fries are hot and fresh. Customization is great! It has changed over the years but the food quality is still fantastic.

From St Louis, MO... This place is awesome in so many ways. Visiting Boone with family for a week and have eaten there 3 times so far. Excellent chicken tenders both fried and grilled. Burgers and sloppy joes (my 8 year old daughter favorite) are made to order and flavorful and generous portion of fries. Great staff and service. And to top it off... The owner is quite possibly the nicest owner I've ever met. She is working the floor checking on people and her business. Great place! Thanks!!

I was really excited to try this spot, as it is highly rated on Google reviews. But the burgers really are bang average and nothing to rave about. Solid shakes and prices for what you get, and the service is only pick up/drive thru with online/kiosk ordering. Maybe it was just an off day, but you can get better burgers at cookout or five guys nearby.

It was our first time and it was great! We were warmly welcomed. We had a great waitress who explained everything to us. It was recommended to us to try the fried green tomato burger and we are so glad we did! It was delicious!! Thank you Come Back Shack. Best wishes for future shacks. We visit Come Back Shack daily on all our trips to Boone. It never disappoints! All fresh ingredients and so many toppings to choose from, including house-made sauces and pickles. Always cooked to perfection. Their fries and fresh-made lemonade are stellar. Bonus points for their indoor/outdoor seating options. This place is so fire!

Always a great burger! This was my first time returning in several years, and I enjoyed ordering from the table using my phone. I love that everything can be customized. I also had the seasonal pumpkin milkshake, a classic. Outdoor dining has heaters.

Phenomenal burgers and fries! A must eat restaurant when you’re in Boone! The homemade ranch is next level. Get the seasoned/Cajun fries. Sweet potato chips are good too. My kids love all the in house made lemonades.

Shire was more than helpful! This was my 1st time at come back shack and I had no idea what to order. She asked how I was doing and we started talking. She made my experience so much better! The food was amazing, and they have really good ranch! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
