Glad I finally got to stop in to this new coffee shop! I used to live by the old Video Underground in Hyde Square, and this was my first time at the revamped shop near Eggleston Square. The coffee is quite good! I took home some Tanzanian coffee about a week off roast, and brewed it up this morning. It has a nice smooth nutty character to the roast. The shot of espresso I had in the shop was in a pleasant, classic medium profile, also very good. I will be back to try more whole bean. They have an interesting micro roast setup which could yield some exceptional batches. I will be back to try more.

This place is amazing! Like many I found it accidentally while walking around the neighborhood and i'm so glad I did! There's an amazing collection of movies and if they don't have what you would like, you can always request it. Any appreciators of film will love this place! There's also screenings on Fridays and you can book the place for events. I went here for movies and found they have incredible coffee (pour over anyone?) And I've tried a bunch of different drinks here and they're all amazing, as are the fresh pastries! Not to mention the truffle salt popcorn! There's also cool art for sale! Seriously this place is amazing and I'm so glad it exists. The price for rentals is the best you'll find as are the prices for beverages. Check it out! You'll be glad you did!

Great spot for good coffee and nice people

Visited the VU for the first time since 2014 last week. Still the same energy! Love the smoothies, great coffee too. Wish I lived closer, I’d be there all the time!

This is the best place for coffee in JP, probably even Boston. They roast their own beans and the owner Kevin really knows his stuff. The snacks are good. Everything bagel biscuit rules. Plus I love renting movies that I really wanna watch that aren’t streaming. It’s rare that they don’t have something I want. 10/10 recommend.

Great spot for private movie viewings, food, and Dvd rentals

Really wonderful place. You should absolutely visit if you have some time in the area. The video selection is great, the coffee is great, the people are lovely.

Love this place. If you enjoy movies, physical media, and actually good coffee, this is the place for you. Came here originally just excited to support a business that understands the importance of physical media and was then pleasantly surprised that they take their coffee just as seriously as they take their appreciation for film. For real, the coffee is seriously good and the owners/workers are incredibly helpful and a joy to chat with. Not a lot of seating so maybe best to take the coffee to go but other than that a great establishment.

I had some of the best coffee here! The cinema cafe has a very nice vibe. And the people are very friendly! Def recommend

One of my favorite spots in JP. They are the nicest folks who always remember my order. This is also a one-of-a-kind place that still offers movie rentals and private movie screenings!

Neat little place. Went to go watch a movie together with friends. Would totally rent out this space again. Staff was friendly and great!

The coffee at the VU is so fresh and flavorful. Kevin was so knowledgeable and makes a great brew cannot recommend enough!

An excellent small coffee shop. Support these types of independent shops over the chains. Update 12/02/2023: Do yourself a favor and get a lemon bar from these guys while you're getting your drink. 10/10, great bar.
